Alas A Whistle

Due to the boundless of the Azure Sky Continent, inside Fang empire, In the east side of South Autumn Leaf Village, there is a forest where local hunters hunt for food, like fruits or animals, or even common medicinal herbs.

On top of a specific branch of a tree, there are two persons, one is a middle-aged man, and the other a 2-year-old sized kid.

In the distance, one could see a deer.

---

After they went out of the gate the uncle first taught the kid how to track a deer,

how to spot the footprints of a deer,

how to try and to notice what's different in the surroundings,

how to never lost a direction, and

how to create a simple bow and arrow.

The kid was like a sponge who absorbs all information readily and curiously.

"You got that all kid?" the uncle asked, the kid nodded, 'did he really understood all of that? It even took me 2 months to properly digest all of that information' he pondered, 'nevermind'.

"Good..." looking at his surroundings he noticed a specific spot that like someone stepped on it, 'having four hooves and an antler sure is tough'

Looking at the kid, he asked "kid can you find something wrong in the surroundings?" He tried testing the kid, not expecting an answer.

The kid observed for a while then noticed the same spot the old man spotted, then he pointed towards it.

Looking at where the kid pointed, he was shocked, 'beginners luck?' Then he patted the kid's head "good-good, let's go" then they followed the track.

After following the track for a long while, they noticed a movement in the surroundings.

*psshh, *pshhh.

"Kid, let's hide! stay still" as soon as they heard it, they immediately climbed the tree they were hiding, now due to the middle-age man being a hunter, climbing a tree is like walking naturally to him already, the kid can follow along because of the kid's tough body and strenuous exercises.

"Now kid listen, this is the most important part as a hunter,

A hunter must know where he is.

A hunter must know where the prey is.

A hunter must look for an opportunity to attack, remember to be swift and be quick, no hesitation nor mercy, if there isn't an opportunity then one can only wait...or create.

A hunter must know how to wait.

A hunter must know how to stay still, as to not frighten his target.

A hunter must be vigilant and adaptive.

And lastly, a hunter must not hunt more than needed." The middle-aged man sternly whispered.

"Since you've found this trail, I'll give you this one." Then he gave him the bow and arrow.

"Wait, do you know how to use them?" He asked.

The kid almost denied, but nodded instead 'hm? archery? it should be easy right?...it should be easy I guess?... I hope it's easy...' he thought, inwardly trembling with uncertainty.

'I have watched those uncles doing archery at the training ground...hmm, how did they do it again?' He contemplated

Feet shoulders width apart, feet point towards the target, nocking the arrow with the right hand while pulling back the string making his right hand near his eyes, holding the bow with the left hand readily, aiming the arrow line towards the target, then release!!

*swosshh

Due to the training the kid does, drawing a bow and an arrow does not require him any hard physical exertion at all, unlike how a normal person would probably effort to fully draw the bow to an arc, the kid does it effortlessly, like an experienced archer.

The arrow flew fast the in air.

*swoooshhh.

The targeted deer was in between the tree, while the arrow flew towards the left-most part of the forest...seemingly avoiding the deer...

.

.

Alerted by the sound of an arrow, the deer quickly flee towards the inner part of the forest.

.

.

"Kid?" The uncle's face stiffened looking towards the kid while smiling "archery?" He asks still smiling.

The kid is now sweating profusely, trying his best to not make any eye contact towards the uncle, even whistling to avoid a conversation.

But alas, only air was released and there was no whistle, no whistle at all...
