Confrontation

Right now Jing Yi was resting her head on top of her hands. She didn't want to admit it, but everything was so clear that it couldn't be more clearer.

She had back to the beginning!

[God… what is going on?]

She really couldn't accept it although all of her injuries were real and still throbbing painfully.

First, she met a talking frog with bad temper and foul mouth. And then the frog grew so big all of a sudden right in front of her eyes before he "kicked" her out from that place. Now she had awakened, she found out that she had back to the past. Could anybody swallow something like this?

"What exactly is that frog?", she was so vexed to the point that fire and smoke would spewed out from her mouth, nose, and ears this instance.

[Actually you can say that this is partly my fault. So I think that I need to say sorry to you beforehand.]

She still remembered what the frog had said before she fell down into the abyss that time. She could not help thinking about something magical.

"I just remembered that nothing is impossible in this fantasy world.", she mumbled to herself. She had been occupied this body for quite sometimes now. What's more absurd and ridiculous than that?

A magical frog that could turn back the time? It was normal...

Maybe…?

Jing Yi whipped her eyes upward. Looking at the sky that started to change hue, she knew that it was dawn. Few hours later, that cold and indifferent father of her, along with his wife and daughters and also nurse Ning would come to find her.

"I guess I can withstand this. Big brother will come after all. Everything will be fine." Realizing that she had already been stuck and had no other way out from this ridiculous situation, Jing Yi decided to just follow the flow.

She lie back down on top of her bed and waiting for the upcoming event to come with palpitating heart.

The servant girl had been up since the first streak of sunlight touched the horizon and immediately prepared to do her routine jobs. As the first thing in the morning that she had to do was to wake the first madam up, she quickly walked through the walkway to the first madam's room while holding a cooper basin filled with warm water.

The situation at Huan Ping courtyard was quiet. Seeing that the first madam's room was still dark, the servant girl knew that her mistress was still asleep. She walked slowly toward the door.

"First madam, Chu Yun is here to serve you.", she knocked thrice before she pushed the door open. Chu Yun didn't need to wait for a reply and just strolled in with a lowered head. Before she crossed the partition screen, she accidentally stepped on something wet.

It was still dark inside the bedroom. Therefore, Chu Yun couldn't see clearly what was under her feet. She put down the basin on top of the table at the center of the room before she crouched down to see better.

After a while her eyes began to adapt and able to see although it was still vague. At the time she saw what exactly the wet thing she stepped on was, Chu Yun was so shocked and terrified.

She stepped on a torn and bloodied hand!

"Aaaah!" She screamed with all her might, as if to remove all the air stored inside of her lungs. "Somebody help! Help!"

Her scream broke the tranquility of a peaceful morning. As she was still screaming frantically, a black little snake that had been hiding behind the door hissed twice before it lowered its body onto the ground and silently slithered out through a gap between two open doors.

A young man in black robe was standing on top of a small hill surrounded by bamboo forest, staring at the sunrise with a faint smile pasted on his face. The hem of his robe waving as the slightly cold wind blew passed through him.

"How long do you intend to hide? I can sense your presence already. Just come out and let's talk properly.", he darted his gaze to one part of the bamboo forest and sneered.

"Humph. You are as crafty as ever."

From between the bamboo trees, a little green animal jumped out forward. It was only the size of an adult's palm.

A frog.

"Long time no see, green frog. How have you been?", he greeted.

"Upset. Thanks to you.", it replied as it leaped closer to him. When they were close enough, white mist emerged from under its feet, covering its tiny body wholly.

The young man didn't move. He stood still while watching the whole scene as the frog slowly changed into a young woman in green.

He eyed the young woman in front of him from head to toe. She had tanned skin and her facial appearance was a so-so. Mediocre woman without any loveliness.

He scoffed, "I prefer your frog appearance than this. At least it is more pleasing to the eye."

The young woman called green frog didn't seem to be angry. She just shrugged her shoulders and lifted up the corner of her lips. Maybe her smiling appearance didn't look good at all, thus the young man shivered and took three steps backward.

"Woman and man shouldn't be too close at each other. Let's keep our distance and talk just like this.", he hurriedly urged.

Green frog still didn't bother of his remarks. The smile on her face didn't disappear as she slowly stated, "But I prefer this appearance more. So you won't be able to look down on me. Don't you think it is good that we can stand side by side equally?"

The young man blinked several times and showing an innocent face to her. "Don't talk like that. You will make me look bad.", he said while clenching his chest, acting as if she had hurt his heart.

Green frog rolled her eyes inside its sockets and snorted. "Aren't you already a jerk?", she sneered. The youth in front of her was the most shameless person she ever met in her life. Even his expression didn't change when he said or did something bad.

Truly a wolf in a sheep's clothing.

The young man laughed heartily as if hearing something funny. "Equal? You said you want to have an equal standing with me? Aren't you joking? How could a bean sprout like you deserve it?"

As if those remarks didn't enough to ridicule the young woman, he added, "You are indeed older than me. But in this field, I am you senior. My experience is also much deeper than yours. Now you tell me. Do you still think that you will win in this competition? Aiming to win against me?"

Green frog knitted her brows. Anger was overflowed inside of her heart. "I never want to participate in the competition!", she blurted out. "I do this because I love to. Not because I want to be a winner. All you think about me is wrong."

[That's what he's worried about? Such a kid!]

The young man shook his head and scoffed, "So naive. The less competitor I have, the bigger chance that I will be the winner. Don't you ever think the same?"

Green frog stared at him incredulously.

[Didn't I have already stated that I don't want to join the competition? Why is he so persistent?]

"That's why you sabotage my work? To eliminate me? Don't you see that everything have already going off track?", she finally snapped and roared at him. This was what she love. She did everything in order to hone herself. But this jerk in front of her had ruined everything. She would be the biggest fool if she didn't do anything to retaliate!

Again she heard him laughing so hard. "Green frog… you're indeed so pathetic. You said love here and love there. Do you even understand what love is? You're only a woman who never fall in love. And now you want to say the opposite. Don't you think that it is very ridiculous?"

Green frog felt the veins on her head were ready to pop. One more sentence, she couldn't make sure that she wouldn't annihilate this young kid in front of her!

"I will let you off just for this once. The other time you're messing with everything I do, I'm going to erase your existence.", she threatened him.

The next seconds without waiting for his response, green frog flung her sleeve and then suddenly disappeared amongst the mist, leaving the young man in black alone, standing rooted with his rebuttal stuck inside his throat.

After a moment, from behind him, a sound of hissing was heard. He turned his head and saw a little black snake slithered toward him.

"Xiao Hei, come here!", his lips parted into a big grin. He crouched down and let the snake creeping into his sleeve and then wrapped itself around the man's hand.

"Good Xiao Hei. Did you successfully clean everything? Looks like you already have your fill. Now just rest and digest everything properly!", he said as he stroked the snake's head gently.

The snaked hissed once before he completely covered its body within his sleeve. His two inky eyes glimmered.

"Now let's see how fun it will be. The next time we chat, I'll make sure that it will become an unforgettable experience for you, green frog…"
