Defending The City of Toul (3)

After 5 minutes of non stop bombardment, Gwen then order the Striker's gunners to stop shooting, and the Striker's loaders to check the ammunition. From that attack alone, the enemy has lost around 8.000 uruk-kai.

Gwen then take a quick look at the enemy's movement, after the smokes gone. She can see that the uruk-kai has retreated beyond the Striker's shooting range. And seeing that the uruk-kai didn't dare to take a step forward, Gwen take this opportunity to ask about the evacuation.

"Halo leader, this is haunts 2. How's the evac."

"Haunts 2, this is Halo leader. The evac just got messy because of that bombardment. But we manage to calm the civi down and speed it up a little. The first batch that's heading to Frax city, and the second batch that's heading to Ys city, will head out soon. We'll be finishing the final batch that's heading to Porta city, in around an hour maybe more."

"Copy that. We'll hold it out as long as we can. Out."

Gwen then relay the news to the rest of the squad. "Good news men, the evacuation will be finish in less than two hours. Currently, the enemy is making a plan to pass the mines and claymores, so we can take a breather for a moment. Keep your eyes out for any movement, and report it immediately if there is one."

15 minutes later, one of the men finally saw a movement from the uruk-kai, and report it to Gwen. When Gwen look toward the enemy's way, she saw thousands of uruk-kai aim their piston gun to the air like a gun salute.

After few moments of thinking, Gwen realize what's the enemies were up to. "Well that's not good." She then grab the radio and give out a warning. "To all unit on the roof! Put up a shield on the double!!"

Hearing Gwen's order, the Dwarfs and the snipers that on the roof tops then picked up, the already prepared heavy shield, and hide them self under it.

Not long after Gwen give that order, a rain of bolts then come down on top of them.

A sound of shields deflecting bolts can be heard. But an unexpected sound made Gwen and the others surprise.

'BOOM' 'BOOM' 'BOOM' 'BOOM' 'BOOM'

Multiple explosion can be heard, and it made Gwen confuse. She then check the minefield, using a small mirror. Seeing the minefield, Gwen can't help herself to curse 'Shit'. It turns out, the uruk-kai is not only targeting the roof, they also target the minefield. Some of the bolts manage to hit the S-mine, causing it to detonate.

"That's one smart commander. Shit! Take cover!!" After Conrad scream that, another voley of bolts rain down on the buildings and minefield.

Another sound of deflected bolts, and explosions caused by the S-mine then occur. When Gwen take another look at the enemy using her mirror, she can see a new movement.

"You got to be kidding me."

Gwen saw a large number of uruk-kai charging toward them, while carrying a giant 3 meter roman style shield. They just keep on charging, even though there's a fence in their way. When the large number of uruk-kai hit the fence with their charge attack, the fence can't hold and then fell. The uruk-kai then continue toward the next fence in a blink, and manage to bring the 4th fence down.

When the uruk-kai already near the 5th line, Gwen made another order to Feli.

"Feli! Blow the 3rd, 4th, and 5th line!"

Feli who heard the order, then pull out the remote and detonate the claymores that on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th fence.

The explosions manage to wipe out almost all of uruk-kai that on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th line. Unfortunately, the wave of uruk-kai doesn't stop and just keep on coming.

When the uruk-kai pass the already destroyed 5th line, Gwen then give out another order.

"Miniguns! Strikers! Open fire!!"

The windows below the roof tops then open up, and a 6 barreled weapons can be seen sticking out here and there. Few moments later the barrels is spining and began spit out fire.

The miniguns then join the fight along with the strikers. Barage of explosions and bullets keeps hitting the uruk-kai that on the 6th line. Seeing how the fire is too concentrated on the 6th line, Gwen then rearrange the attack.

"Redirect fire! Striker 1 to 4, target the enemy on the first line! Striker 5 to 8, second line! Striker 9 to 12, third line! Striker 13 to 16, fourth line! The rest, target the fifth line! Minigunners, concentrate your fire on the nearest enemy!"

The Striker's gunners then stop their fire, and began fixing their aim. In just a few seconds, the firing then continue. But despite the miniguns and the strikers non-stop firing, the uruk-kai can still manage to push through.
