Reaching the third floor, in Shu Himo's sight appeared the new monsters.
With multicolor wings extending over two meters, ten enormous butterflies were in front of him, ready for a fight. The only difference they had from a normal butterfly was their size, and their legs, which were akin to a knife.
Walking inside of the room, Shu Himo was dumbfounded, why ten butterflies?
As if answering his doubts, one of the butterflies flapped its wings, vanishing from its spot and reappearing behind Shu Himo.
Reacting immediately, Shu Himo took out his scythe and spun on himself, slashing toward the butterfly.
Flapping once again its wings, the butterfly appeared once again behind Shu Himo and tried to slash at him with its legs, yet it didn't manage to react before being abruptly cut in half by the scythe.
Seeing that the butterfly insisted on attacking his back, Shu Himo smirked, 'An attack like that can't work against me!'
The technique Shu Himo was using to manipulate the scythe, the Requiem Dance, was not used to merely deviate an attack.
Upon obtaining complete mastery of the technique, it permits to defend oneself from most attacks, as due to its rotatory behavior, the area close to oneself was always inside the reach of the scythe.
Surely, there were gaps, for example, it was impossible to stop two attacks simultaneously coming from multiple parts, but at the end, all depended on the obtained mastery of the technique and on the speed of the enemies' attacks.
Upon sight of the death of the first butterfly, the other nine immediately flapped their wings, vanishing and surrounding Shu Himo, slashing at him with their legs.
Staying calm even while surrounded, Shu Himo slashed with his scythe at two butterflies in front of him, and used stacked [Hopper_x3], jumping in the air.
The remaining butterflies seeing him suddenly moving quickly turned around, about to chase after him, yet, a word suddenly resounded in the room, "Lightning."
As the butterflied were close to each other, even without silver rods they were all smitten by the lightning before being able to react, and electroshocked by it fell on the floor without being able to move.
Noticing that they were still alive Shu Himo was startled, 'Is the spell lightning this weak? Perhaps the ogres were just weak against it…' With a disappointed expression, he took his scythe and finished them off.
[Congratulation! The User managed to win against the third floor! Soon revealing the staircase toward the fourth floor... if the User wants to persist ascending the tower, advance on the staircase and if instead, the User desires to stop, return to the entrance or say "I give up!"]
Hearing the usual message from the system, Shu Himo walked on the staircase, which as always appeared before he could notice.
On the fourth floor, the monsters were four enormous geckos with sharp knifes attacked at their backs. While they were quite fast, using the scythe, Shu Himo managed to swiftly split them in half.
On the fifth floor, the monsters were three flies, with the same size as a basketball. Their specialty was spitting poison, yet they failed to hit Shu Himo even just once.
On the sixth floor, the monsters were five weird balls with a diameter of three meters. The five balls were completely purple in color, most likely acting as a shell for the monster within.
With their spheric forms, they threatened to roll on top of Shu Himo crushing him, yet by distancing himself using [Hopper] and applying his ranged attacks—like throwing his scythe—Shu Himo managed to kill all of them in a couple minutes.
On the seventh floor, the monsters were three minotaurs armed with greatswords, so how could Shu Himo use the scythe? He instead used his greatsword, whacking it on top of their head until the minotaurs fainted, and lastly, he beheaded them only afterward with his scythe.
On the eighth floor, the monsters were two small white pyramids, barely high one meter. Yet, those pyramids were the hardest opponent Shu Himo had until now, as they threw continuously spikes out of their bodies while running around with their small four legs.
Another of their strength was their resistance against lightning, which made Shu Himo frown in irritation, not only the system was sending against him weird monsters, but they were even hard to kill!
Using stacked [Hopper_x4] continuously, he evaded their attacks, yet due to the sheer amount of spikes, he needed almost two minutes to eliminate them, throwing his scythe at the right timing.
On the ninth floor, seeing the monsters, Shu Himo was surprised, they were just two normal brown bears!
"It seems that the system did not go crazy completely… at least a normal monster… wait, can I even call a normal bear a monster?"
Grinning as he walked inside, in Shu Himo's view, the head of one of the bears suddenly separated from the rest of its body, flying toward him.
"WHAT?"
Shu Himo could not believe it… for once he thought a normal monster was his opponent, it ended up being a flying bear head! Was the system on drugs?
Taking his scythe, he sighed… when will a normal monster appear? Staring at the head of the bear, he was puzzled as it simply followed a straight path, but not caring about it too much he slashed it with the scythe, splitting it in half.
"Eh? That's all?" While the earlier floors weren't hard, it was only due to his training… yet why did it feel as if the ninth floor was easier than the first one?
Suddenly, the body of the bear began to expand, and its color quickly changed into red.
"Wait... don't tell me…" Having a bad feeling, Shu Himo hurriedly took out his Essence Qi Clock… only to find out that it didn't work! Why was it so unreliable in such a moment?
Knowing that he did not have any other choice, he could only take a gamble, and used a stacked [Hopper_x4] dashing toward the bear, slashing it with the scythe and splitting it in half.
*BOOM!*
At that moment, the body of the bear exploded, yet it resulted in only a small explosion, as if it was stopped early from developing.
Seeing that the explosion covered only half the room, Shu Himo sighed in relief, it appears that if he didn't split its body, the explosion may have destroyed everything…
Shaking his head for a moment, he then proceeded to do the same thing with the other 'bear', completing the ninth floor.
Ignoring the usual message from the system about having completed the floor, he simply walked on the staircase, going toward the tenth floor.
A moment later, staring straight at the tenth floor, his mouth opened in shock, "Just what is this?!"
