While traveling, Shu Himo could not help but think about why Phylia can morph into a Dragon, as she would first need to know what it was before being able to morph into it. Sadly, when he asked her how she came into this planet, she dejectedly answered with 'I'm sorry… I don't remember'.
It appeared that she only remembered certain knowledge of her past, but most of the things were forgotten. The system did not give any way to cure her memory loss, claiming that they would gradually return by themselves with the advancing of her realm.
Shaking his head, Shu Himo knew that there was nothing he could do about it, at least for the moment.
Flying at a low altitude and taking a long, hidden path, the three weren't noticed by anyone, so they had no interruptions in their flight.
-----
Thanks to Phylia's flying speed, in less than a day of flight the three already arrived back to the Shu Kingdom, being several kilometers far from the Capital. They were currently in a forest, where Phylia could morph without worry to be noticed.
"We are close enough, land on the ground, and revert to your usual form."
Nodding to Shu Himo's phrase, Phylia landed on the ground, and after Shu Himo made a small concealing formation, she reverted to her usual form.
Fondly smiling, he walked up to her and gently stroked her head, "Good job, Phylia." Gazing toward the direction of the capital, he continued, "This way we will not be late to the party."
"Hmm." Nodding happily, Phylia smiled as she said, "Let's show them what happens to who challenge us!"
"Let's go."
With the phrase from Shu Himo, both Phylia and Aura Azusa nodded as they followed him, walking toward the capital.
Yet… something unexpected happened.
*BOOM!*
The sound of an explosion resounded fifty meters from them, as the dust raised in the air, covering their vision.
They were dumbfounded, what was happening?
Suddenly, a pained yet powerful voice echoed from the area of the explosion, "Dirty machine… don't you think you will win!"
The dust gradually dispersed, revealing a wolf-man at the Longevity Realm, seemingly struggling to even stand up.
*BOOM!*
Yet another explosion resounded, as a blue laser attacked at the man from the distance. However, the man was too injured to dodge it, and could only hopelessly watch as the laser was about to reach him.
*Tud*
Suddenly, the man felt something grabbing him, abruptly dragging him aside, barely evading the laser. While he was stupefied by what happened, he heard the amused voice of a child, "You say that the machines will not win… and then you just let it kill you?"
Startled, he quickly turned his head to look the child and widened his eyes in shock, "Dantian Core Formation of the 8th string?! Wait… you are Shu Himo?!"
Uncaring of his surprise, Shu Himo looked toward the source of the laser, as his face grew grim.
"The target evaded the astral cannon… detected additional forms of life. Analyzing…"
The mechanical voice came from an enormous mecha, possessing over seven meters of height. While its form was humanoid, it was made completely in metal, colored in black and red. With red eyes appearing to target everyone as an enemy, its pressure was uncomparable to a mere Met-3.
With a grim face, the man explained, "Met-2... its strength is about the same as a normal Longevity Realm expert… you should run, there is no way you can survive against it."
Shaking his head, Shu Himo calmly replied, "You were defending my Kingdom, so it's only normal for me to protect you." Without waiting for an answer from the man, Shu Himo placed him close to a tree and asked Phylia to protect him.
The man could not believe it, a Dantian Core Formation was planning to fight a Met-2? What he did not know was that Shu Himo initially did not want to fight against Met-2 and only planned to drag him away, however, in front of him, a quest from the system popped up.
[Abrupt Quest: Protect the unknown man from Met-2!]
[A Met-2 in front of you is trying to claim the life of someone who defended your Kingdom, how could you allow that? Save the man, by protecting him until reinforcements come! Estimated time for the coming of reinforcements: 2 minutes!]
[Quest Difficulty(Protect the man): SS-]
[Quest Difficulty(Kill Met-2): SSS-]
[Quest Reward(Protect the man): 800 BS points + Loyalty from the unknown man.]
[Quest Reward(Kill Met-2): 2000 BS points.]
[Quest Failure Penalty: Your Death or the death of the unknown man.]
Having such quest in front of him, how could Shu Himo even consider to run? Those were a whole 2800 BS points! About the loyalty of the man… he didn't really care, but he felt it could be useful to protect his family when he was not close.
Looking toward Met-2, instead of fear, his eyes were filled in greed, as if he could not wait to obtain those BS points.
Seeing his expression, the man could not believe it, what was wrong with this guy?! It was one thing to force himself to fight against such a monster to gain time… but what was that expression that appeared as if he couldn't wait a single second before fighting it?
Suddenly, Met-2 concluded his analysis, as it declared, "Three additional enemies… none is deemed as a threat. Proceeding elimination… approximated time required: 20 seconds."
Hearing its declaration Shu Himo could not believe it, he wasn't deemed as a threat? However, before he could react, he heard from the side the slightly irritated voice of Aura Azusa, chanting a magic spell, "Solar Orb."
Phylia, noticing her irritation, lightly smiled, "So it's not only Master who get angry by those robot's declarations…" She understood such feeling too well, even she was slightly irritated by it.
Hearing what Phylia muttered, the man was speechless, feeling his sanity slowly slipping away.
