Savior

David closed his eyes as he waited for the claws of the Lynx to come. Slowly time passed and he heard a guttural growl from the Lynx. Hearing this David felt that this was the sound of his impending death. He closed his eyes as he waited for darkness to consume him.

The Lynx made another growl, accept this one was like it was whining while at the same time warning them not to come closer.

David slowly opened his eyes, and saw an antelope with Golden Horns stomping its feet as it glared at the Lynx.

David smiled as he said "You were the one that has been following us this whole time yeah? I will have to thank you if I can make it out of this alive" He said as he laughed.

The pain from his laugh caused him to black out not being able to see what happened next.

David blacked out due to blood loss, as Ezekiel's Antelope stood next to him staring down the Lynx. It normally would not be considered a threat to the Lynx, but now that the Lynx was injured its presence was enough to cause the Lynx to be wary.

The Gold-Horned Antelope snorted as it kept stomping on the floor walking back and forth trying to look intimidating. Ezekiel only said that it had to protect his father, not kill the Lynx, so it preferred not to get into a fight.

The Lynx growled and feigned a pounce, trying to scare away the Antelope, but when it saw the Antelope put its head down preparing to use its horn to defend itself the Lynx backed off.

The two stood in a stand off glaring at each other trying to make the other give in first. Neither of them wanted to make the first move, so they ended up having a staring contest instead.

The Lynx finally being unable to wait any longer pounced at the Antelope. It was already pissed off due to being injured by a weak Earth Rank-1 Human, and now an Earth Rank-2 Antelope was trying to fight it? It eats these for breakfast, so for its breakfast to be challenging it made it very angry.

The Lynx pounced, as the Antelope lowered its horns, and charged towards the Lynx. The Lynx's claws slashed at the horns trying to grab a hold of them to throw the Antelope to the floor, but the Antelope would not allow that and evaded the claws leaving them whizzing past its head.

The Antelope, now in the favorable position tilted its head to the side as it rammed into the Lynx's ribs cracking them. Normally the Lynx would be able to dodge an attack like this, but its speed was lowered due to its many injuries.

The Lynx landed on the ground with a growl and sprinted towards the Antelope again when it regained its balance. The Antelope prepared for this, and dodge to the side again getting ready to attack the Lynx's ribs again.

However the Lynx ran past the Antelope and straight towards David. The Lynx wanted to finish David off, before it fought with the Antelope. It slashed out with its paw trying the claw out David's throat, but in the nick of time the Antelope jumped in the way taking the claws to the side.

The Antelope screeched in pain, as the Lynx's claws ripped through its tender flesh. The Antelope's only defense, was its horns. If any other part of its body met with the claws of the Lynx it would get torn to shreds. This was why the Lynx was a predator, and the Antelope was prey.

Seeing as how the Antelope was injured due to its attack the Lynx growled in malice. It wanted to kill the human, but the Antelope decided that it wanted to be its first target. The Lynx decided to comply, because the human was already out of commission.

The Antelope again prepared its horns, albeit this time with a little less strength behind them. It snorted as it stood in front of David protecting him from the Lynx. It was determined to be killed by the Lynx before it let David die.

The Lynx though, was having none of it and constantly attacked the Antelope swiping at it with its claws. The Antelope was now injured, and was not in peak condition so it got many scratch marks on its body.

As they were in the middle of the battle they both stopped for a moment as they heard in the distance yelling of other humans. The Lynx looked at David and the Antelope and reluctance flashed in its eyes before it whined and turned around flashing into the forest.

The Antelope collapsed as it groaned in pain. Although it was injured it was happy that it protected David, like his master ordered.

The hunter's entered the clearing with their weapons drawn as they fanned out looking for what harmed David. Two of the hunters went over to David and check his pulse "He is still alive! Lets take him home quick he needs medical attention!"

"What about that Antelope there? Do we take it back to eat?" One of the other hunters asked.

The leader smacked him in the back of the head as he said "Are you stupid can't you see that the Antelope protected David's life! Are you ungrateful?"

He turned from the hunter and said "Frank, Ricardo, and Juan! You guys take David, and the Antelope back to the village to get treatment. The rest of us will search for whatever had caused all this."

He turned towards the rest of the hunters "All right we don't have that much time till night, If we find nothing after two hours lets head back". The hunters obediently went about their tasks.

David and the Gold-Horned Antelope were picked up and carried back by the three hunters, as medical attention was needed immediately.
