Awake

Ezekiel felt as if there was not strength left in his body. He lay there in an incognitive state, he had no idea where he was, or why he was there. The only thing he could feel was the never ending tug of his muscles straining him from moving.

He struggled to open his eyes, wanting to figure out where he was. As he was attempting to open his eyes he heard "Oh! He is awake! Go wake up Cyrene!" as footsteps faded away from the room.

'Cyrene?' He thought as he heard the words said by the voice. As his mind grasped onto that name struggling to take a hold of it he finally realized who that was. 'She is my mother!' He thought as he began to recall his life.

He now remembered why he was on this bed, and why his muscles were in so much pain. 'What about my father? I must go see him!' He thought as he began struggling to open his eyes.

His eyes now felt like the heaviest object he had even lifted. After trying to open them countless times he eventually pushed through finally opening them a tiny slit, just as he saw his mother rush into his room.

As his mother laid eyes upon relief filled them when she saw his eyes opened, even if a tiny bit. "Oh Ezekiel.." She sighed as she caressed his face with her hand. "The doctor said you should be able to move about by tomorrow, but...*sigh*".

Ezekiel began to attempt to ask about his fathers condition his mother, as if reading his mind, began to talk about him.

"You father is currently bed ridden, but he is still alive. The doctor though said that it would take a minimum of a year for his injuries to be healed, and he is going to be unable to do strenuous exercises again." Her voice began to choke up as she continued.

"He will not be able to work anymore, and will have to stay home." She put on a smile through her tears and said "So you will now have to take his spot as the man of the house, and provide for the family. We decided to send you to school early, because if your father will be unable to provide much for you here anymore." She was now crying as she reached the end of her sentence, because no mother wants to leave her child.

"You will leave for the Capital in one week, and The hunter Captain Diego said he would escort you there along with the others because they are going to make a trip there to sell their beast hides anyways."

Ezekiel had mixed feeling about going to the capital, because he did not want to leave his parent, but he knew that he needed to go to bigger places if he wanted to advance faster. Just as he was debating on the school topic he heard a prompt from the system.

=============

Mission Title: School

Description: Enroll and enter Holy Oak, one of the most prestigious schools in the Capital.

Deadline: One Month

Reward: [Soaring Sky Cultivation Manual]

Failure: Access to other lifeforms besides beasts (And the owner) to become permanently forbidden

=============

Seeing this Ezekiel knew that he no longer had a choice in the matter, because failure would result in his parents never being able to enter his Monster Farm. He sighed inside as he didn't want to leave his parents, but he knew he would have to.

His previous mission still had five herbs left to find, so he knew he could complete it on the way to the Capital so he was not that worried. He knew that the Gold-Horned Antelope would be healed enough by that time, and able to travel with him along to the Capital.

He checked the reward for the School mission.

[Soaring Sky Movement Technique]

Details: Doubles the cultivators speed every level. Comes with three Levels, and is able to allow the user to fly once they reach the third Level.

*High Comprehension Required*

---

Looking at the details of the movement technique made Ezekiel stunned. Normally one would only be able to fly once they reached the Heaven Rank, but now he could fly at an earlier Rank. Techniques like these were extremely rare and sought after by everyone.

Even though there was a Rank called "Sky" you were not yet able to fly in that rank, and could only glide for short periods at a time. He thought that whoever came up with the Ranks for the cultivators was not that smart, and should have done a better job.

Ezekiel closed his eyes, as he had used up all his energy and consolidated his decision on going to school in the capital.

His mother cupped his face, and kissed him on the forehead as she watched him drift to sleep. She smiled as she got up and exited the room not wanting to disturb his sleep.
