Lake looked at the recipe in his mind in disbelief, to think that the recipe was created by the system.
Now he was even more intrigued with it, the elixir was something that could cure any mortal illness. An elixir was a godsend for any mortals, and including the fact that the materials were so cheap, he could make a lot off of this.
"Did you make this elixir yourself?' Lyra asked a question that she thought was inconceivable.
Lake didn't nod because he was unsure of how to answer her. But Lyra had instead interpreted his silence as a confirmation.
A thousand thoughts ran through her head because she couldn't possibly believe that a 12-year old child could create a brand new elixir on his own. Especially one with effects as powerful as the Cleansing Elixir.
Lake saw that she had misunderstood but didn't feel like correcting her, perhaps he could work it towards his favor.
After her initial shock what replaced it was awe and surprise, Lake was far more talented than she thought, she had already seen his fighting abilities during the spar with Gregory and now he had shown off his talent in alchemy.
To become an alchemist wasn't frighteningly difficult, but extremely expensive. To become a successful alchemist they'd have to be willing to invest grand amounts of resources in their experiments and practice.
Most alchemists when starting out no success rate whatsoever and even after spending half their fortune they might even be able to successfully concoct an elixir.
If someone put in enough effort they would be able to make some progress in their alchemy, but not without investing vast amounts of money to get them there.
Considering Lake's background it was surprising that he was still able to concoct an elixir let alone create a new recipe.
The students referred to her as Princess so she couldn't help but wonder what kind of nickname Lake would get if his talent was revealed.
After they had that exchange they heard footsteps echoing from the stairwell.
Soon enough Selena had come downstairs, she was looking much better compared to when Lake first saw her at the restaurant.
She wore a radiant smile on her face and her complexion was much better compared to before.
Before Lake could get up and say anything she had already bent her body forwards and thanked him wholeheartedly.
"Lake, thank you so much for healing my sister. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know."
Lake was caught off guard by the bow from Selena and froze for a second before going up to her and raising her body.
"Miss Selena you can't bow like to a kid like me, besides I just wanted to help, if I were to accept something then wouldn't that be extremely rude?"
Shaking her head she replied, "Absolutely not, you cured my sister, for that I must repay you in some way. Please just name your price." Her tone of voice was firm and she remained adamant about giving him some sort of compensation.
Lake helplessly sighed and shook his head. "Okay miss Selena, if there is something that I need in the future then I won't hesitate to ask you. Is that all right?"
Though he said that he wasn't really intending to refuse the favor at all, even if he was a good person he wouldn't turn down some free help in the future after all.
After Lake accepted he was invited to stay and eat dinner with her and Lyra, initially he wanted to reject but seeing the look of anticipation on her face he couldn't help but agree.
Pleased that Lake accepted her face lit up again and she went into the kitchen to begin cooking.
Lake and Lyra followed behind and sat at the table just waiting.
Seeing that the two weren't really speaking Selena decided to break the ice. She spoke to Lyra without forgetting about Lake and eventually the conversation had broken past the awkward atmosphere.
After Selena had finished cooking she sat the two of them down and brought some soup upstairs. Presumably for Lily.
When she came back down she down with them and began eating, the atmosphere had become warm and excited.
To Lake it was a new experience, because of his lack of powers he had been an outcast most of his life, besides eating with his mother he had never spent time like this with other people.
He felt strange, he thought he would be fine without companions. That as long as he grew strong enough it wouldn't matter.
Him and Lyra were cold people to the bone, they had issues learning to be with people and spent most of their time alone.
But today he learned what it was like to be able to dine with friends, with people who wouldn't belittle him for his powerlessness.
From his heart came a warmth and on his face sprouted a slight smile as he ate and spoke with Lyra and Selena.
When they had finished eating Lake had excused himself to go home, but on the way out Lyra had caught up to him.
"Hold out your wrist." Doing so he saw her reach out her own hand with the communicator on it.
Tapping her communicator to his she added her contact info to his list. Lake was surprised, the feeling he had gotten from her initially was a cold and aloof Princess.
But she had willingly given him her contact info, completely different from what he had seen at school.
If anybody from school had seen what just occurred they'd be shocked beyond belief. The Princess was known to stray away from guys, even the most talented of boys were nothing to her.
To think that she would one day want to keep in touch with a boy like Lake, someone with no powers.
