Upset

I wanted to get out of this place soon and go to Kai's place. But considering the others that were around, I didn't say anything, simply walked to the other side of the bed and sat there. Just then, someone quickly knocked twice on our door, emergency quite evident in the sound of the wood. After taking a glance around our room, Ton walked towards the door and opened it slightly. He turned and looked at James, then opened the door wider.

"Hey," May's tensed voice was heard followed by her footsteps as she entered. What did she need? As I looked her walking up to James, I saw her halt abruptly before reaching him faster. "James? What's wrong? You're crying. . ." she trailed off. I whisked my head to look at him and I confirmed he was indeed crying with calm tear drops silently dropping on his hands, his head hanging downward.

"What did you do?" May directed the question at Ton and me with a dangerous and controlling voice. I did not dare to look at her, let alone give her an answer.

Ton glanced at me before answering, "Talking about some boy things."

"Like?" Her voice did not tone down at all. I was in a stressful tension while James had to intention to tell her off. Great!

"Nothing, just reminding him how bad he's at video games."

"I'm not joking, Ton."

"Fine, just ask Sai." What should I say? I snorted at the cruel timing and fate in my head as I prepared to just get the hell out of the dam place.

"Just leave it." James said just as I was about to get off the bed, his voice breaking twice within the short sentence. I did feel shameful for treating him like this. But at the moment, his kind and good heart did not appeal to me very much for it was hid behind his betrayal.

"I don't know what's wrong with you but James doesn't want me to interfere in this. I should talk with James. Go out." Sure, James held such importance with her; just one word and she would follow.

"What's so personal?" I should thank Ton, for I was curious as well.

"Something about Jess. Now leave." She said.

As we both left the room, her glare towards me was piercing with dislike and hatred.

Once outside the room, I went to sit in the couch set in the front hall while Ton switched on the TV and then, joined me. "Sai, are you okay?" He asked.

"Hm," I grunted not wanting to respond. "I'm sorry but I had to say that when he started crying," he explained. That did shock me too. What gravity did my words really hold to have such an effect on him?

"It's okay." It was the best to leave this conversation now.

"So when do you plan on making your first move?" he asked he hugged me from the side; this clingy bastard put me in enough trouble.

"I don't know," I said, slowly loosening his hold.

"You're upset." Does he not want to just get done already? I stayed calm again. But he continued, "We'll plan a very romantic plan!"

"Please, don't try to cheer me up. You had your reason to say all that to me. But you did mean it, I know. So, just stop talking," I said, taking my phone out to message Ao. Immediately Ton snatched it away. "I'm here talking to you, bro."

"What?" He started to irritate me on another level by now.

After a little sigh he placed my phone on the tea table before us and asked, "I didn't attend James and Jess's wedding. I missed so much. So to start with, why did they decide to get married this early?" I am here all sad about my love life while he decided to ask me about the life of those two successful lovers. I took my phone and sent a little text to Ao, 'Everything down the drain,' before placing it back on the table.

"Honestly, I didn't think we'd see you this time either. You really know whom to ask what," I scolded him.
