To kill Ri, you need luck

[WARNING: SYSTEM FAILURE IMMINENT. FLAMETHROWER 01 DISABLED. RIGHT ARM OVERHEATING. COCKPIT ENDANGERED. EJECTION IS ADVISED]

"Dammit, dammit, dammit!!"

Goran Panicked frantically, losing control of his composure had cause his Mech to move frantically beyond its capacity. Causing more damage to it as the tongues of the flames lick into the wireworks to melt.

These were ferocious flames, scorching hot to the very touch due to the flammable fuel made from special chemical components, its rising temperatures can easily reach 300° Celsius.

That much flames were licking into Goran's combat suit, feeling the searing heat that scald his skin made him scream in pain. Not even his magnetic barrier can protect him from heat.

But even then, it will require more than flames to defeat a Mech that uses flames.

[WARNING: SYSTEM CRITICAL. ACTIVATING EXTINGUISHERS]

Abruptly, the Mecha exuded thick, white clouds all over its body, releasing cold temperatures polar opposite to the flames. The clouds cover every corner of its mechanics and counters the flames, dousing it. After which, what's left was a Mech covered in thick, white foam.

"Fuck..." Goran cursed as his monitors displayed countless warnings. His Mecha was constantly crackling with electricity. Especially the right arm which was rendered disabled by the accident.

While pressing buttons frantically, he pulled out an emergency med kit and grabbed the anesthetic spray and healing paste. Swiftly applying it on his scalding wounds afterwards.

After which, he ignored all warning signs and focused on his unreliable scanners. Forcing his Mech to take a defensive stance, he retreated back as his scanner picked up something up ahead.

Something was approaching towards him with light steps. He stood slouching with big, black daggers in his hands, his eyes colored red stared deeply into Goran's. And the calm killing intent emanating from him made Goran shiver.

Goran wariness turned into fear, because he recognized this feeling he was having, a feeling as if someone more powerful was looking down on an ant like him. It made him fearful recognizing this kind of feeling, but it soon died down as his Mech suddenly reminded him.

[NOTICE: TARGET MATCH: 80% TARGET SUBJECT: RI, LOCATED. OBJECTIVE: TERMINATE TARGET. SUCCESS RATE: 80-90%+]

After reviewing the notice, Goran's nerves calmed down a bit. He stared at his monitors zooming in on the target. Targeting him while computing his movements, Goran felt safe in his cockpit after knowing his success rate.

He snorted, satisfied he was the first to encounter his target. He then spoke through the speakerphone.

"Oy, you're Ri, am I right? Tough luck on you, lad. Meeting me here, I'll take your head either me and claim the bounty!"

Speaking boastfully, Goran pressed a switch and aimed the only functioning arm at Ri and a muzzle unfolded at the wrist.

With a bang, a thick net was shot at sonic speed and spread wide to capture the stunned Ri.

The net was unstoppable as it came, it spread wide as the sky with no chances of escape. It was made of metallic fiber that not even the sharpest combat knife could cut, not to mention it has an electrocution feature that subdues anything it captures definitely.

A net designed to capture violent beasts was used to capture Ri alive.

But it was useless!

As it came, Ri raised is daggers and slashed the net away, cutting it into pieces before it could electrocute him. Neatly displaying dagger skills in a form of art!

[NOTICE: TARGET IS AGGRESSIVE. RECALCULATED SUCCESS RATE: 50-60%+]

"..."

Goran was stunned with his mouth agape at the new reevaluation. He wanted to move, but Ri reacted first as he approaches Goran in a sprint. Moving like the wind as the targeting system struggles to keep up.

"Bastard, take this!" Goran resorted to his flamethrower and shot violent flames at Ri. Engulfing the area before him in scorching heat.

Ri dodged while he threw a dagger at Goran, which was instantly repelled by the magnetic barrier. But it distracted Goran and gave Ri enough time to vanish in an instant.

"Oy, quit hiding you little shit!" Goran was enraged by Ri's dirty battle style. Even though he was piloting a Mech, he felt like Ri was cheating with hit and run tactics.

But who was he to complain? Ri was having a tough time too!

If Ri's current state was equal to his heydays, then bisecting Mechs would've been a breeze. But his status had been zeroed out due to the respawn. Now he has to fight with his daggers and strength he once possessed back on earth.

However, Ri believed he would be enough for him.

Goran's scanners picked up nothing. And he cursed at its unreliability. He was so angry that he wanted to rip Ri in half. Gritting his teeth, he moved his Mech and burning flames shot out from its wrist. Engulfing the area around him, boiling the blood everywhere and setting the corpses on fire, converting the scene into a flaming hell.

Goran did this while he pressed some buttons. Expanding his magnetic barrier to surround his Mech and activated it, although it will surely cost him a tremendous amount of power loss, he could not afford to be careless after what happen to his other flamethrower.

Ri seemed to have noticed Goran's defenses had tightened after shooting out a dagger to chop a certain hose. He stopped what he was doing and evaded the flames.

It was getting too dangerous hiding in one place and the number of shadows he can hide had lessen due to the flames brightening up the area.

He had no choice but to jump into the flames and bear with the searing heat. As he leaped, his skin scalded and his hair burnt. But he made no effort to hide his presence as the scanners picked him up.

"Found you little punk!" Goran instinctively moved and shot flames at Ri despite not within his attack range. He didn't manage to get Ri due to the distance so his Mech broke into a sprint, using its thrusters to gain momentum.

The Mech made several stomps that shook the ground as it dashed. Crossing 5 meters a breath with every stretch, Goran was ignorant that he was being lured by Ri into a straight path. And just before he could notice...

Tsng! Boom!

Goran hadn't noticed that a corpse he had stomped on had been holding a frag grenade in its hand. The corpse jolted when he stomped and released the grenade. Letting out an explosive boom that attacked Goran underneath.

Goran's face paled in fright as he sensed this. If it was just a landmine he triggered, then Goran would've snorted in contempt due to the confidence he had with the Mech's armor. But it would be a mistake to underestimate the explosion casted by this grenade.

The Mech's armor kept the explosion from destroying it, sure. But it was immediately followed by a blast of vicious acidic fluids that splattered itself on the Mech. Just then, Goran's monitors lit up red displaying several damage parts of the Mech.

[WARNING: CORROSIVE CONTAMINATION ATTACK. ARMORED COMPONENTS DAMAGED. SYSTEM CRITICAL]

Warning signs lit all over his monitors, and his Mech crackled with damaging electricity. Stunning the Mech to lose power as it knelt in weakness. The armor which he spoke proud of was corroded to rust under the tainting of the vicious acid. Exposing the intricate components such as mind-tangling wires.

Ri did not miss this chance. Under the signal of the blast, he turned back into a sprint with his daggers ready. His eyes keenly analyzed the Mech, discovering new layers, realizing new weaknesses. Eventually, his eyes lit up as he saw the ejector switch exposed on the cockpit. Swiftly making a decision, he sheathed one dagger and free one hand.

Ri came in a flash in Goran's eyes. He broke into sweat, overwhelmed by his killing intent. He saw one hand coming, fully realizing why. Yet, he couldn't react, not even the barrier surrounding him could. However, nothing can be better if his target was crazy enough to approach him again!

As he waited for this moment, he raised his fist and slammed a button after opening its glass lid. The core of his Mech suddenly lit up in bluish glow and suddenly made Ri tense up in apprehension.
