Whatever It Takes (3)

Kavira and the group had been stuck in the mountains for a few days, the caravan of hunters had taken all the food they had back to the inside of the rim. "Why is it so difficult to grow in this land?" Lucas was beginning to become frustrated. Both he and Kavira had spent days trying to cultivate a few fruit and vegetables but the land was so dry and burnt that it took hours for a single berry or vegetable to pop up.

Lucas was trying to remember what his mother used to do to feed him out here but he didn't remember. Up until the day she passed there was always food at home, if she ever went out to buy any or cultivate any, he had no idea where or how. Kavira's patience was also wearing thin but she needed to continue to try, her stomach and everyone else's were beginning to eat themselves from the inside.

"Someone's coming." Clain plucked out his sword from the new back harness he had purchased in Keero. He held onto it steadily, Nyla and Linx soon followed his stance, feeling the mysterious person approaching.

Leena could feel Lucky slowing down, she was finally relieved that they were finally meeting up with the group Damon had told her so much about for four days. Lucky was gliding down when his muscles began to tense up and started flapping in place shrieking at whatever was in front of him.

Leena couldn't see what was going on with all of Lucky's flapping to she carefully jumped off and landed on the floor. "Lucky!! Hey Lucky, it's okay." Leena waited for the the cockatrice to relax, he persisted on caution even after he had landed but she didn't blame him. "Put your weapons away." Leena spun around to face the group. The man in the front with the dark brown hair and honey colored eyes carried a long sword, from Damon's description he was Clain. The girl to his left was Nyla, Damon's sister, bleach blonde hair and gray eyes just like her brother.

The man to Clain's right was staring directly at Leena, his familiar bronzed face deep blue eyes and jet black hair. "Izak?" Everyone turned to look at the man Leena was talking to but all they saw was Linx. Leena smiled profoundly, she ran with open arms to hug the man she remembered but she was stopped by his stretched out arms that were impeding her from reaching him.

"My name is Linx, you have the wrong person." Leena furrowed her eyebrows, hastily moving away. Her facial expression turned into a frown with her eyes focusing on the ground. "I am sorry. You look like someone I used to know."*

"Who are you?" Linx asked the beautiful girl standing in front of him, he had never seen her before and she didn't carry herself like any woman he has every met, not even Kavira.

"I'm assuming you got the call from your adopted brother and your real brother." She turned to face Nyla but neither of them seemed to have had a clue of what she was talking about. "He sent me to you, told me that you could help me and vise versa."

Kavira stopped cultivating and stood up. "Why would he send you to us?"

Leena recognized this description light auburn hair and emerald eyes, Kavira, the other Fiena. She reached for the wrap around her wrist and swiftly rolled it off presenting the dragon mark to the group. "I believe he said I could be useful on whatever quest/mission you are all doing. My only request is that you help find my cousin."

A sudden feel of coldness rushed over Leena's body, her skin tingling to the icy feel in the atmosphere. "How? My brother and I were the only magical bloodline that was born. How do you have a mark?" Kavira wasn't convinced, this person had to be an impostor.

"You all look hungry, I'll give you some food and I will tell you everything you want to know while you eat." Leena strolled over to Lucky removing her bag from his saddle and quickly taking out a few vegetables and rabbit. Food was their only weakness at the moment, no one fought the urge and just took what she gave.

Leena put her hand out, she grew a thick vine and set it on fire. "There you go. I'll cook your food."

Kavira and Lucas's mouth dropped. "How did you do that?" For days they had tried to grow anything on this forsaken burnt ground and they had such a hard time. But she came in and swiftly grew a vine to burn.
