Series of Unfortunate Events (4)

Leena opened a portal into her living room of the cabin she once lived in with Amira. She hadn't really had the opportunity to come back and relax with all the confusion and chaos that had come with the Lost Realm. Glancing around her place at the mess that it was she couldn't help but be curious about Izak's belongings.

It was then that she remembered Linx's words, or Izak... nothing was as simple nowadays. Trying to understand how Izak spoke through Linx's body would have her cracking her skull. Leena walked over to her room and dove onto the bed, she wasn't so tired but she felt emotionally exhausted. So many things had happened in a single day, the group left and everyone that matters now knows she is a Fiena.

Thinking back, there must've been so many noblemen and soldiers there. She still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that the man knew she was a Fiena. She lifted her right arm and removed the lilac wrap from her hand revealing her dragon eye mark. This world was filled with magic wielders that didn't have marks, but somehow when she left this world and fell into the Lost Realm she was marked with this brand. It was hard to believe that even though she came back to her home world, she still bore the mark.

She slowly brought her left hand over the mark and caressed it gently. Her calm expression was then alerted when she felt a presence enter the main house. She quickly rose to her feet and dug out her two medium size black metal scythes before quietly making her way to the mansion.

Leena could hear voiced coming from the living room, it wasn't anyone she recognized so she placed her back against the wall in the kitchen and listened in on the conversation.

"He said that we would be able to find her here." The first man spoke in an annoyed tone.

"She must be hiding, this is a very big house." A second voice appeared, a woman. "Do you think looters left anything behind for us to sell?"

The voices were climbing upstairs, Leena wanted to follow them but first he had to make sure that there weren't more. She slipped out the back door and scouted the front of the mansion before quietly sneaking back into the house. These two were alone, but who had sent them here? Who ever it was, they had greatly underestimated her.

Leena used the service stairs, she continued to move slowly trying to hear for where they were and what they were saying.

"Is she really worth that much? Did he tell you anything else about her?" The woman wanted to know more about Leena. Her and he brother had been hired to bring in some woman, but the only thing they knew was that she had ember eyes. Granted, ember eyes aren't common but it seemed too for them to be bringing the boss a person.

Most of their missions consisted of bringing the boss rare gems, objects, not people. "I told you everything I know. She isn't here. Come on, we have to search everything."

Leena was hoping they would speak more but instead they just moved from room to room in silence. It wasn't until they reached Izak's room that Leena decided to take action. She wasn't here when they initially destroyed his room but he wasn't about to let anyone else touch it.

Leena creeped up behind them, crossing her scythe and placing them directly to their necks. "Looking for me?"

The two froze in place, they were skilled thieves. Having someone sneak up on them was a big no-no. They would have had a back up plan if they didn't have a scythe to their necks. "Are you the girl with the ember eyes?"The chubby man spoke.

"I am."
