Series of Unfortunate Events (5)

The group were all posing as tourist, they rented a room in a small town north of the kingdom and left their belongings there. As unsafe as it was, it was their only option. Raising suspicion by carrying weapons was the last thing they wanted to do.

Linx still wasn't convinced that this was the right thing to do. If what Dracon said was correct and they're three thousand years in the past, would good would it do for them to walk into danger. "What are we looking for exactly?" Clain was curious but nothing here really made sense. It was almost as if they were walking into the lions den, they were weaponless with minimal magical skill.

"I need to get into the castle. I'll be able to determine the truth once I'm inside." Dracon turned to the group, he brought them all but he really only needed himself. "Lurk around and try to gather some Intel. I'll be back as soon as I'm done."

No one opposed his methods so he disappeared down a narrow street. The rest glanced among themselves and decided to take individual paths to gather information in such an enormous kingdom.

This place was nothing like their cities, this kingdom was about five times the size of Black City. Kavira was given a simple path to follow but when everyone had left she quickly followed down Dracon's direction towards the castle.

It didn't take long for her to find a guard-less area into the castle, even though she could simply use her powers, she decided to stealth through as part of a learning exercise. After climbing up the vines to get to the balcony of the castle she found the door to be closed. To avoid from making any noise she created a portal and slipped into the walls of the castle.

For such a big place.. it sure was quiet. Kavira stayed close to the walls in case she came face to face with any trouble she could just bail. Her whole body was on high alert until she saw a little girl lying on the floor after turning right into a corridor. Kavira wasn't sure if she should move closer to check and see if the girl was okay. She glanced around to make sure no one else was around before moving closer to the little girl.

The first thing Kavira noticed was the pale color of her face and lips, one she touched her she realized that the little girl was much too cold to be well. Kavira scooped the little girl up and brought her into her arms quietly placing her right hand over her forehead. Slowly the girls body started to warm up, Kavira felt the child's body become normal but she still hadn't woken up.

Kavira stood up with the child still in her arms, she made a portal to try to find a room somewhere when suddenly she felt a strong presence at the end of the hall where she came from. "Who are you?" The little girl had silver hair and white/gray eyes. Kavira was surprised to see such a small scary person, but it was then that Kavira realized that the little girl in her arms also had silver hair.

"Do you know this little girl?" Kavira didn't want to make relationship assumptions based off appearances but they looked more and more similar the more Kavira focused on it.

"Yes, she is my older sister. Why are you carrying her?"

"She was sick... I was helping her feel better but she hasn't woken up. Do you know where her room is so I can take her?" Kavira lost focus of the portal so she closed it while simply focusing on the little girl standing in front of her.

The little girl nodded, strolling closer to Kavira and opening a portal. "This way."

Kavira was surprised to see such a small girl have the ability to open a portal of that size but as soon as she stepped into the portal she was taken to a room. That simple, she didn't have to walk through the other dimension she just had to pass through. "How did you do that?"

"That? That's easy... my father taught me that. You can place my sister there." Kavira came back to reality an saw that she was in a little girls room due to the color and decorations. Kavira placed the little girl on the bed and turned to face the other small girl.

"She just needs rest, she will wake up in no time."
