Series of Unfortunate Events (9)

It wasn't difficult for Kavira to settle down with the girls, since Zury was still sleeping the other little girl known as Petina was speaking to her. "Thank you for taking care of my sister. She has been sick for a very long time."

"What is she sick from? From her mark I could see she's a Mertas." Kavira forgot that in this world magic users were common but if what Dracon said was correct, revealing her mark was dangerous.

Petina carried her same exact mark, was she in some sort of trouble? She didn't feel any kind of way by it or tried to hide it. "What kind of mark is that?"

Kavira pointed it out. "Oh this?" Petina brought the mark up to her view touching it gently. "It's a dragon's eyes. I'm called a Fiena, the first Fiena actually."

So Dracon was right, they were in the past... Three thousand years ago. "What do Fiena's do? I've never heard of them."

Kavira had to continue asking, this child mag be small but Kavira knew better than anyone to not underestimate, ever. "I have every power available. Grocan, Irrang, Mertas, Minsho, Lokath, I can use them all."

"Wow, that's amazing! How is that possible?" Kavira didn't notice Petina's suspicious face until she narrowed her eyes. She played along with the curious expression to not lead on any suspicions.

"Me and my sister here are triplets with another brother of ours. When my mom was pregnant she became sick, my father asked the Dragon Elder for help and in return the Dragon Elder will train the first Fiena." So that was how Fiena's came to be.

Kavira expressed the an impressed reaction to keep appearances but she was actually impressed. She hadn't heard the story of how the first Fiena came to be, knowing that she was three thousand years into the past and meeting her kind of changed a lot for her.

"What about you? Do you have any magic?" Kavira wasn't sure if she should tell her the truth or not. It was quite difficult to know what was honestly going on since she really didn't know much about this time in history. She vaguely remembers what she read in the Fairy Domain all those months ago.

"I don't have magic." Kavira decided to keep her powers hidden, the first Fiena knowing that Kavira was also a Fiena didn't seem like a wise thing. She had to conceal her magic and avoid attention to her magic skills.

"That's too bad." Petina looked a little sad but she quickly regained her smile and began playing with her wooden dolls with Kavira. Kavira didn't mind, after all she wanted to wait around for the little girl, Zury, to wake up.

It wasn't until Petina fell asleep that Zury finally woke up. "Hello." Of course Kavira understood how awkward this might appear so she explained as deeply as she could. Zury, just blinked without saying anything.

"She must've put me to sleep again. Petina likes to do that. She likes to put people to sleep." Kavira wasn't following.

"But you looked really sick."

"Yeah, it looks like that at first but after sometime my body becomes fine."

"Why does she do that?" The little shrugged her shoulders. She didn't know, Zury was just a victim. She stood up from the bed with the help of Kavira and asked Kavira to place Petina on the bed.

"Come, I'll get you something to eat. I can see that you're hungry."

"How did you know?"

"I have the ability to read body language. Seems simple enough to just interact with people but it's actually my Binsho."

Kavira didn't argue and she simply followed the little girl around the castle.
