In a jungle, far in the east, a couple was standing at the shore of the lake. They were holding each other in their arms while making a beautiful picture. The silence and calm of the lake made the scene even more mesmerizing.
"Chawal! How long are we going to hunt the beasts?", muttered the girl who was enjoying the embrace of her lover.
"Don't worry, it will not take long. I am about to break in the King Class so, I need cores of General Class beasts.", answered the boy as he continued holding onto the tiny waist of the fairy in-front of him.
"King Class...", muttered the girl as she trembled a little. Her eyes became sad, as she had a desire to cry. But after remembering something, she suppressed that desire.
The couple stood there for a while and then move on to hunting the beasts. After a few days, they stopped in the middle of an open field and the boy after checking his surroundings sat down in the meditation pose.
"Veena, guard me. I am going to meditate now in order to heal my injuries. ", spoke boy as he closed his eyes.
Veena stood quietly in front of him as she looked at him with sadness in her eyes. Her eyes were misty as she remembered the moment her clan head invited her to the meeting hall. Her eyes dimmed a little, and she began contemplating her future actions.
Suddenly, a rustle entered her ears as she looked towards her left. There stood a man within black, with eyes that seemed to pierce her soul. She trembled in fear as she tried to bow. The man nodded his head after seeing her bow and then continued staring at her. The girl flinched under his gaze and slowly turned his body towards her lover. She stood there for a while but suddenly she took a knife out of her pouch as she began to move close to Chawal.
The man in black, stood there silently with interest in his eyes as if he was witnessing a play.
Veena arrived right in front of Chawal and looked down to his face. She stared at him for a while with an apologizing look, and suddenly bent down and kissed him.
Chawal was tired after all the fighting he did in the past few days. After killing the last beast that he required, he looked around for a place to heal his injuries. He found a perfect place where the chances of the ambush were low and asked the love of his life to guard him as he began healing himself.
After a few moments, he heard the sound of a water drop hitting the soil. His body trembled a little but he remained seated with his eyes closed. Soon, he felt a presence nearby but he was puzzled as Veena didn't take any action. He suddenly remembered the strange behavior of his lover for the last few days and felt an ominous premonition.
He became a little afraid thinking that his suspicion might be true but suddenly he felt something soft on his lips. He opened his eyes and looked at the fragile body in front of him. He wanted to say something but suddenly a muffled sound entered his ear followed by extreme pain from his abdomen.
Veena looked at Chawal and started crying
"I am sorry, I am really sorry."
Chawal looked at the girl in front of him and felt sad, he wanted to ask her why? but no sound left his mouth. He started to feel dizzy and fell down.
The man in black saw all of his with a smirk on his face and after Chawal fell down, he quickly appeared in front of Veena and spoke for the first time.
"Let's go, You did a good job. Clan head will definitely reward you."
His voice was hoarse and filled with mockery. After finishing what he had to say he looked towards the struggling body of the most talented individual he has ever seen and spits down.
"So, what if you are talented. If you don't know how to be flexible, you will be crushed by the strong winds in this world."
Chawal was feeling immense pain, as he tried to stand up and retort back but his strength was slowly leaving his body. He tried to open his eyes but all he could see was a blurred picture of a man and women leaving. He raised his arm a little as he again fell down never to stand up again. And so, the monstrous talent of the east met his demise.
The last words that left his mouth were, "Veena, why?"
Samad suddenly woke up from his sleep with a jolt. He was heavily sweating and his eyes were filled with tears. He felt pain in his hear as he had the urge to cry loudly. It took him a while to come to his senses. He looked down to his abdomen and muttered,
"Feeling regret and sadness over the betrayal of someone you love the most before closing your eyes for eternity is probably the saddest way to die."
He sat silently for a few moments and suddenly spoke as if reminding himself.
"Don't worry Chawal, you are a part of me now. I understand your pain, and I promise that I will get revenge for you."
Samad tightly clenched his fist as he began to feel the urge to grow stronger so that he can fulfill the promise he just made. He stood up to get ready for a continuous struggle that he will have to make if he wants to take revenge for Chawal.
"I will become strong", he said with a voice that was filled with vigor and thirst for power but what he didn't know was the pain and hurdles he would have to face in the path to power.
