"Hey Ambie. Get ready our guests will arrive in an hour." Amber's trance of thoughts was broken by a soft knock and the voice of Roy.
"Hmm. I'll get ready." Outside Roy was relieved to hear Amber finally giving a proper reply. His mood was greater then ever.
Roy got dressed in a casual wear and head down the stairs to the dining room set up for the 9 guests they were having. He wondered if he can make her forget that boy Jay. But he knew it was impossible and that Jay was a great catch for his little precious and no one will be able to treat Amber with so much love and respect.
'Hmm...that boy is surely well mannered and a loving gentleman.' He nodded to himself. He isn't one to push his daughter to marry someone she doesn't have feelings for.
Exactly an hour had past and the guests arrived at their door one after another. They were left waiting for Amber to come. Only 5 minutes had past and Amber finally waltzed down the stairs in a great mood.
"What happened sweetie? Why are you late?"
"A message from him." Amber's smile was dazzling. "He said a few more days till he visits."
"That boy?"
"Hmm."
This time Roy inwardly thanked Jay for his daughter's boost in her mood. He couldn't thank him enough.
"Well then let's eat." Roy and the others were busy talking about their recent business dealings and ended up in the subjects of marriage. Their kids didn't show any irritation but it was all too clear when they slumped their shoulders one after another.
"My boy is already 24 but still has no girl!"
"Ha you think you got it bad? My boy is 26 and only sleeps with woman once! I wish that once would get a girl pregnant so I can force him to marry."
"My daughter wants someone to court her maybe match up your son to my daughter."
"Mr.Eve how about your daughter? Is she single?"
"I donno ask her." After Roy's words everyone turned to Amber who was enjoying her slice of crepe cake.
"I'm taken." She said hurriedly swallowing the huge bite of cake she had taken.
"Who is the boy?" One of the father of a son asked. It was obvious that he wanted to match his son to Amber.
"No need for you too know." She said.
"I hope he's not that mental son of Noah!" The man laughed along with a few snickers from others. "I don't know how that Noah seduced a perfect woman like Yulia? If he didn't get to her I would have had my brother's oldest son court her!"
"Hmm. In your dreams" She hummed, she was in a great mood and won't let the old farts destroy that.
"It's safe to say that he's a man whore."
"Who's son is a man whore?" All of them except Amber and Roy who were sipping on their chamomile tea turned to the direction of the voice.
"M-Mr.Xaiver!" The people who laughed or chuckled were now on their edge by Jace's sudden appearance. "It wasn't your son that we were talking about! It was about Young Amber's so called boyfriend."
"Well then that makes it worse. My granddaughter in law to be happens to be Amber." Jace took a seat beside Roy that was purposefully left empty for him. "So now your telling me that my grandson is mental and a man whore?"
"No, no, no! I-I didn't mean that!" The old man panicked as he took back what he said inwardly cursing his blabbermouth. "I didn't know that Jay was Amber's boyfriend!"
"Oh so if you still didn't know then by now you would have called him a mental freak who's only good at things on the bed." Amber added fuel to the high burning fire.
"You-" The old man stood up his chair screeching as it was pushed back with sudden force. "I DID NOT SAY SUCH WORDS!"
"Oh sorry you said the son of Noah Xaiver is a mental one and that my boyfriend who happens to be 'that mental son' is a man whore." Amber dragged the plate of red velvet cheesecake of her father's and ate it.
"Forget it Amber no need to be riled up by such unimportant and untrue sayings. Especially by some people whose going to be bankrupt."
