. A new day

I woke up, took a shower and stood in front of the steamed mirror, a towel wrapped tightly around my hair and body.

I wiped down the mirror and picked up my toothbrush.

"Where's that toothpaste?" I muttered as I opened the under sink cabinet. I found it at the back and quickly placed some on my brush and put it back, rinsing the brush under the water and standing straight up. It takes a couple moments but the first thing I notice about myself is my eyes glowed the same at Tim's and Zeke's and then I noticed my eyebrows were a pure white, like fresh snow. Noticing that, I pulled the towel off my hair to watch it all fall down and reveal it was also a pure white. I quickly brushed my teeth and ran into my room to see my school uniform on my bed.

"School? Really?" I sighed before changing into them and grabbing a light grey hoodie off the door, tucking my hair safely underneath the hood and hiding it away. I walked out my room and started my way to the dining hall again. Upon entrance the room fell quiet as the cook came towards me with a bowl in her hands.

"What's this?" I asked, she shook her head and sighed.

"It's cereal, you have school today, hurry up and eat," she said popping her 'p' and shoving the bowl in my hand before walking away. I took one look at the food and put it back down on a table before walking out of the room. I walked into my sister as we both turned to go through the doorway. My hood fell down from the sudden impact.

"Are you ok- what happened to your hair?!" she started before suddenly leaning forward and grabbing hold of my hair, "I thought I told you, dying your hair all the time is very unhealthy for your scalp!"

"I didn't dye it!" I yelled back, "I woke up and it was like this!"

"Your eyes are glowing too!" she yelled back.

"Stop yelling! Jeez!" I sighed. We helped each other up and she just walked around me, as if she was trying to find my blue hair again.

"I don't like it," she finally concluded her inspection.

"For once, I agree with you," I replied before hitting her on the back of her head.

"Anyway, I need to go to....school," I said again, pushing past her, "oh, are my friends going to love this stupid appearance I've taken on."

"Don't tell them about last night or this ok?" She reminded me, I nodded and walked away.

I arrived at school a bit later. The halls were empty and the lessons had already started. I walked to my homeroom to see a notice on the door saying there was a whole school assembly. Peaking into my class, I see no one inside so I do to the field. There, as I thought, was the whole student body and senior members of the school. On a stage talking through a microphone was my headmaster. He was pretty old and had a strange mustache but he's always been a friendly and kind man.

"Anyway, onto the more devastating news. Last night, during the evening, a fire broke out in one of our students' home. JJ Rain and her family, died in the fire last night. It was said to have been L.I.A.R.. who set the flames, they even watched them burn. Now let us take a moment of silence for our fallen student," he spoke, people gasped, a couple cried and I just got angry that they thought I was dead. I walked out of the shadows and up onto the stage where my headmaster was. More gasps filled the air.

"Headmaster, I am not dead. My mother and father died, me and my sister are alive," I say, my voice echoing around the silence, "oh and I redyed my hair because it was looking pretty bad after yesterday so let's not point that out."

"JJ?" the headmaster asked, as if he was trying to figure out whether he was looking at a ghost or an actual human.

"Yep, that's ma name," I say, rocking back and forth on my heels with my hands behind my back, "good to see ya!"
