Myself, Zeke and Tim all moved to the side as the others fought, vines and leaves, water and strong gusts of wind, even some fire and mist was being thrown back and forth. The people with Conrad were trying to keep everything away from the school, whereas L.I.A.R.. seemed to be trying so hard to attack it.
"First thing, JJ, do you know how to use your ice?" Zeke asked, Tim just stood watching and deflecting the occasional leaf or water droplet that were coming our way.
"Well....no. But I was just going to wing it," I shrugged, Zeke gave me a blank stare.
"Yeah, that won't work, stay here, don't move. And please don't use your gift," he said, tapping Tim on his shoulder and then running into the battle with him. I leaned against a tree and watched as Lucius manifested in front of me.
"Did I not give you enough power?" he asked, I shook my head.
"It's not that, I'm just under instruction to stay here and not do anything. After all I am just a rookie and I know nothing," I sighed. Lucius' little fiery head tipped to one side for a moment before he flew up and perched on my shoulder.
"What a disappointment, you can't even do the basic task of avenging your mother who was burned and your father who was cut and beaten," he said provocatively, "I guess they really did raise a coward."
I squeezed my hands into fists again, allowing them to get tighter and tighter until I felt liquid crawling down my fingers and dripping off my knuckles.
"Alright, what do you suppose I do?" I asked, looking at him, I could just see a smug smile on that bird face of his.
"Fight."
He flew off my shoulder as I started sprinting into the crowd.
"JJ get out of here!" Zeke yelled at me as he pushed someone off of him and tried to approach.
"Lucius," I call, I hear him call back, I raise my fingers in a gun position again and watch as a ball of ice shot out of my fingers, as it travelled towards my willed destination, it also caught the flames around it and used them as an extra boost.
The man who looked so confident once before, noticed the icy ball of flames charging towards him, he lost his confidence and dropped himself to the floor, standing back up just as my shot hits someone else. He looks at me and smiled.
"Who knew you had it in you," he mumbled, laughing a little, "alright, let's dance."
He pulled his cloak off his shoulders and dropped it to the floor to show his arms covered in tattoos of ancient symbols of different eras.
His hands erupt in brilliant red flames as he starts running towards me.
I send another ball of flaming ice towards him again but he knocks it out of the way easily.
"Repeat my words," I heard Lucius say, I nod and await his response as the man got closer and closer.
"Fire and ice, once relatives but now enemies. Once the same but now opposites. Join to my side and help to bring down those who stand in my way," he says, I repeat and suddenly I find the temperature around us dropping dramatically, everyone except myself and the opposer, fell to the ground in a cold mess.
My hair floated up and flared up at the ends as I stood and watched as he stopped but started running again.
"What is your name?" I asked him, he looked at me stunned.
"I'm Rigolo," he said before reaching me and slashing his fists towards my face. I glared at him and a shield of transparent ice appeared instantly in front of me, causing him to fly back with the strength of his hit.
"How interesting, you are respecting your familiar, hm?" he mumbled before reaching one hand into the air and creating a circle of light. A small nine-tailed fox floated down onto his hand before jumping off and flying around him quickly. They both stop moving for a second.
Lucius appears next to me in the form of a little boy again.
"Are you talking to each other?" I asked him, he shrugged.
"I think they're arguing, it would seem that familiar has been locked away for many years," he replied before a wave of fire came flowing towards us, I quickly pushed Lucius out of the way and created a counter wall, shards of ice broke away at the sudden force of the flames and lightly cut my skin on my face and cut away at my school blazer and shirt.
"You're strong, maybe not strong enough, though," Rigolo said thoughtfully as he sent another wall of fire towards me and my ice shield.
All I could do was brace for impact.
