WILL TAKE A MILE....

Cheng Jiu looked at De Xi calmly for a moment before putting up an ingratiating look and walking to De Xi.

"Don't. Just leave before I really start to consider what I said." De Xi said in disdain and asked her to go away.

"Yes, yes. I will take my leave and not annoy President De any longer." Cheng Jiu said in her ingratiating tone and went out of the study.

On her way out she saw Lu Bai bringing a breakfast tray, the dishes placed were what De Xi typically ate for her breakfast, making her momentarily stunned.

"President Lu." Cheng Jiu greeted Lu Bai curtly out of curtsy, the latter also gave her a curt, aloof nod.

Lu Bai was about to continue walking forward when Cheng Jiu stopped him.

"Sometimes people are forced to do and say things against every fiber of their body." Cheng Jiu said lightly and walked away, not giving Lu Bai a chance to ask her anything else.

The latter frowned when he heard Cheng Jiu, his initial suspicion about De Xi hiding something greater was growing stronger now with the reminder from one of De Xi's closest subordinates.

He continued walking towards the study and knocked twice before De Xi asked him to enter.

"Have your breakfast before continuing your work." Lu Bai said calmly, his voice held a slight hint of tenderness to it.

"Why are you here?" De Xi asked with a frown, slightly annoyed but was also surprised, though she did not let it show on her face.

"Who else were you expecting? George?" Lu Bai asked bitterly, catching De Xi completely off-guard.

She finally looked up from the screen appalled and shocked at the same time.

Though Lu Bai was a jealous and possessive man from the start he did not dare to show it directly since he came here, hence when he suddenly let it out it caught De Xi off-guard.

"Are you being jealous of George?" De Xi asked in disbelief and exasperation.

"So what if I am? You can't decide emotions now, can you? Or do you want to even control that?" Lu Bai asked in displeasure, his full of how-ironical look.

"There are people to do these things. How can I let my guests do the work." De Xi said it calmly deliberately adding the latter part as a retort to Lu Bai's latter statement.

"Indeed. That is why when Chang Mei offered to bring the breakfast, I took it over and brought it up." Lu Bai said shamelessly with a straight face, making De Xi so angry that she almost coughed up blood.

De Xi inhaled deeply and let it out slowly, using her all the willpower to control herself and not to kick this man in his balls in the literal sense for being so annoying.

"Come have your breakfast or else it would cool down and you won't like it." Lu Bai said in a doting tone, completely disregarding De Xi's dark face which was as black as the pit of the burnt pot.

"Leave it. I will have it later." De Xi said while gritting her teeth.

"Oh! So you want me to feed you? Such a romantic you are." Lu Bai said shamelessly, smiling charmingly like a hunk he was.

"If you want me to kick your balls and then kick your ass out of not just my study but also my mansion, then continue." De Xi said chillingly, a beautiful smile on her face which did not reach her eyes, making her look like a smiling devil.

Lu Bai knew, any more and De Xi might just do what she said, so he coughed lightly and left the study quickly but not before reminding her to eat the breakfast while it's hot.

As soon as he left indescribable emotion flashed through De Xi's eyes before she looked at the breakfast and sighed.

"Give him an inch and he will take a mile." De Xi mumbled in displeasure as she remembered their yesterday's kiss in the forest.

'Not like you are any different.' De Xi's inner conscious berated her ruthlessly.

After all, be it, De Xi, a few years back or now, she was still shameless, though not as shameless as what she was during her twenties, she is still shameless and shrewd compared to others in her circle.

She sighed softly and stood up from her seat, walking to the couch and eating her breakfast from the tea table.

Indeed it was just like how Lu Bai said, De Xi never liked her food and drink cold. The reason why she avoided alcohol was also for the same reason, it can never be consumed hot, though it might seem ridiculous, she is just that way.

After finishing her breakfast, De Xi finished up her remaining work and went downstairs, to find all the elders already discussing something seriously, with kids still absent from the scene.

"Are kids still in the forest?" De Xi asked frowning as she glanced at her wristwatch.

They were out under the sun for the past five hours, without a break making her worried about them getting dehydrated.

"They came in had some fruit juice and went out again." Nan Xi said lightly as she looked towards the patio which opened to the forest.

"Are you done with your work?" Grandpa Mu asked calmly as he looked at De Xi with a warm look.

The latter nodded her head and made her way towards one of the vacant seats on the sofa, which was beside Feng Chuan.

He gave her a slightly concerned look as if he knew what was the trouble keeping her in the study for so long. She just nodded her head giving him an assuring nod and sat down.

"Now that Xi'er is here, let's get to the main purpose of this trip." Grandpa Su said as he pointedly looked towards Mu Chang and Su Biyu, all other elders also giving them stern looks and glares, whereas the younger generation gave them pitiful looks.
