The dinner - II

It irritated him and he could feel the anger coming back.

"Carmella!" He snapped and within seconds he heard the snapping of heel and she stood next to him.

"Yes, sir?"

He looked at her and the look alone on his face made her shake in her heels. "Did you not tell Evelyn to come down for dinner at 8:15?"

"I did, sir," she bowed her head, " but madam is sleeping."

"Did she eat?"

Carmella shook her head and answered dutifully, "No, sir."

Salvatore crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Did you try to wake her up?"

Carmella nodded and his temper flared.

Salvatore turned around and he climbed up the stairs in record time before opening the door to Evelyn's room. He did not bother to stop in front of the door and not first but rather just walked in.

He stopped at the foot of the bed and stared at her. She was sleeping.
