A turning point- III

"Erika," Evelyn whispered in mild shock, failing to recover from it, "whatever you're playing at, I am not going to help you with it."

The said woman gave her a sarcastic smile and replied with twinkling eyes, "what makes you think you know what I am playing at?"

Evelyn scoffed. "I know for a fact that Alexis does not have any kind of diamonds that you would want. There is only something that she has in special that you could possibly think of having for yourself."

Erika giggled. Giggled. As if Evelyn had cracked a joke and not told her the reality. "I know. But no one can resist this."

Evelyn gave her a look where her eyes went up and down. "Yes, people can resist that. You are not exactly what you were 15 years ago." She snapped.

Erica stared at her before she registered the words and her eyes narrowed dangerously at Evelyn but unlike things had been before Evelyn picked up her purse from where she had kept it and pulled out a 50 Euro bill.
