Bradford inheritance

Falco was looking at Jack eagerly.

"Rose here has sent us a request to start to train you." Falco said. "You do know that here at the association we can't take apprentices that has not come of age yet."

Jack knows that. The time he woke up after the massacre he wanted to start training to become a hunter and search for the monster that caused his family's death. But he was turned down because he was too young.

Jack felt sadness. He thought with a request from Rose, which is an SS level hunter, he could start training early and become strong.

"But..." Falco started. Jack looked at him hopeful. "The Bradford family is a special case. They start to train their successors at the age of 12. How old are you now?"

"I have just turned 15 now sir." Jack replied.

"You are rather late if you follow the Bradford standards." Falco sighed. "Rose, what do you think?" Falco looked at Rose.

"I feel that he is just in the right age to train." Rose replied. "I know that here in the association it is required for an apprentice to be of age to start training but I feel that Jack is in the right mind and his body can cope up with the training."

"The Bradford family trains their successors at an early age to prepare them to wield the special weapons passed down to their family by inheritance." Falco explained. "I have kept your father's weapons to keep it safe. After your training Jack, if you are deemed worthy to wield these weapons then I will give them to you."

Jack was surprised. He knew that the weapons his father wields are powerful weapons passed down the to the family successors. But he thought that the weapons were gone that day his family were killed.

"I was able to secured them." Rose answered Jack's silent question. "Those weapons are yours by birth rite. I won't let filthy hands have them."

"Thanks." Jack said.

"Well then. I will let Rose take care of your training." Falco smiled. "Be grateful. You are the first one to be able to train under Rose. You're her second apprentice after hundreds of years here in the association."

"Only second?" Jack looked at Rose curiously.

"I don't like training brats." Rose said. "I only pick the ones that have potential."

Jack felt flattered. Rose agreed to train him so that means he is worthy to be her apprentice.

"But be prepared. Her training is like hell." Falco said with a smile.

Jack shivered with the thought. After Rose's 'anger management', how much more difficult would her hunter training be?

Falco opened his drawer and got a pair of guns. They were both double magnum barrel that houses .44 bullets. He recognized the insignia in the handle to be the Bradford crest.

"I will let you have your family's dual guns. This is one of the weapons passed down to the Bradford family. They are called Lilith and Discord." Falco explained. "They were crafted by the famous hunter weapons smith Vincent Craven. He gifted this to your great grandfather when he recused Vincent from death."

"Lilith was made from a million year old mineral rock that came out from a volcanic explosion." Rose explained.

The gun Lilith was chrome colored with beautiful carvings.

"Discord was made from a meteorite that came down from outer space. Radiometric dating can't determine the age of the meteorite. But for sure that it is also millions of years old." Rose said.

Discord was black in color with the same beautiful carvings as Lilith. They both hold the Bradford family crest in their handles.

Jack took the guns from the desk. He can feel the weight of them are heavy.

"Do you think you can carry them?" Falco asked.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he can wield them. Combined with the strength training I'll give him, he will be much stronger." Rose said with a sweet smile. Jack shivered with the thought. What kind of strength training would they do? He wondered.

"About the sword of your father." Falco said.

Jack looked at Falco intently. The broad sword that has been passed down in the Bradford family is the most special weapon a Bradford wields.

"You would have to earn it first." Falco said.

"You can't wield the sword until you are ready." Rose explained. "I have it in my possession and safeguard. It is a powerful weapon that many enemies wants to possess. Until you are worthy to wield it, I will keep it safe."

Jack looked at Rose. He trusts Rose with his life so he knows that she knows what's best.

"Okay, I understand." Jack nodded.

"As for the Bradford family fortune." Falco continued. "When you come of age you will inherit you family fortune and the lands that your family owns."

Jack knew that their family were an aristocratic family but he didn't know how rich they were.

"Your family fortune is at least billions of euros." Falco explained. Jack's eyes went wide with surprise. "Until you have come of age, Rose as your guardian is managing it."

"As for the lands you have at least thousands of acres here in Europe. Some thousands in the North and South America. Hundreds in Asia and the Middle East." Falco continued.

Jack was processing this information. If they have this kind of fortune then who is managing them when his father died.

"Bradford has branch families managing them." Rose answered Jack's hidden question once again. "When the head died they tried to obtain the fortune. It was good that Falco acted fast to secure your family assets."

Falco pinched his temples. "They were a pain in the ass. I used everything at my disposal to stop them."

"So I'm insanely rich?" Jack thought.

"Once you come of age you will inherit the name of Baron Bradford." Rose said.

There was a moment of silence. Jack processed these much information.

"Rose will tell you anything you want to know." Falco said. "As of now you are officially an apprentice hunter congratulations." He reached his hand towards Jack.

"Thank you." Jack took Falco's hand and shake it.

"Starting today your hunter name would me Cloud." Rose said.

Jack looked at her curiously.

"As hunters we use our aliases." Rose explained.
