"Alright! Good job you two!"
"Augh!"
Hua Meili gave the two tired almost about-to-faint people in front of her a thumbs up as she beamed a bright smile.
Today was the same as the previous days that the three-person group had spent so far.
After creating a carpet of blood, they would then pile up the corpses of the Mutants and burn them, the same day.
After killing the last of the Mutant quota of the day, the group had then decided to head back home.
"Whew, finally we're going back home!" Guo Zhongcheng said happily while stretching his arms.
"Hehe... finally we can take a relaxing bath, right?"
Hua Meili tap Guo Zhongcheng's shoulders and playfully showed a disgusted look seeing how dirty he was.
Blood and dirt littered his clothes not sparing his face as he felt the sticky all over his body.
Training outside for about a week without taking a bath, even fighting off Mutants and rolling off the dirt, Guo Zhongcheng really needed a bath right now.
"Right!"
Guo Zhongcheng happily grins as he imagined the warm water and bubbly soap when he gets back home.
Seeing him giggle stupidly, Hua Meili also could not help but laugh.
Ever since the Apocalypse, almost all the convenient modern things were officially unusable.
Electricity is not usable. Water is not usable. Almost everything is not usable!
That is why, the two could only wait to go back to the Mansion to bathe.
Since they had such a convenient pond which became an official source of their water, they do not lack water in the Mansion.
It's really a wonder why the pond is not polluted by the change of the world since all the usable water sources and food sources are already contaminated.
Maybe, it was because the pond is cut off from the outside world just like them.
Watching the two feel uncomfortable and dirty, she secretly laughs pitying them.
She was really lucky that she had a dimensional space on her, she can go bath inside it anytime she wants since she had a pool of water there made only just for her.
"This is the last of it! Should I burn the corpses?"
Zhongcheng Qingren dusted off his hands and looked at Hua Meili after gathering all the corpses in one place.
"Yep, go on and burn them. You should burn the corpses when you have time in the future too. Now let's see how powerful your Fire is now. Fire!!"
Hua Meili put a hand on her hips and commanded like a captain in battle as she stared at them.
She playfully put on a dead serious face as she commanded Zhongcheng Qingren like a boss.
Zhongcheng Qingren put his hand out and summoned a ball of fire and burn the corpses to ashes just like how Hua Meili usually does it.
But the fire he produced was not as powerful as Hua Meili's, seeing the speed it took while burning the corpses was a little too slow, slower than hers.
Since Zhongcheng Qingren had control over fire, Hua Meili was teaching him early in the game just how to handle the Mutant corpses.
This training is not just for burning the corpses but for better fire control, it would be convenient for him if he will be able to put on more control over his ability.
If he were able to increase and decrease his fire ability at will then it would be great!
If Zhongcheng Qingren is able to control his fire ability perfectly, he will surely become more powerful in the future. Better than his fellow fire users.
The trio watch the corpses being burnt in silence like they were sitting in front of a campfire when suddenly, they heard a sound coming from afar.
"What is that?" Guo Zhongcheng frowned.
The trio quickly look guarded when they heard the howling sound.
The howling did not come from a wolf but something far more terrible!
"Is it a Mutant? But that loud roar, it seemed to be different." Zhongcheng Qingren said looking at Hua Meili.
"Because it is different. Look over there."
Standing on her guard, Hua Meili clearly saw the thing that howled in her line of vision from where she stood
She knew that there was something that was watching them for a while but what she did not expect is that, that something would come so quickly and was much stronger than her.
What she said quickly caught the attention of the two.
Looking at the direction Hua Meili is pointing at, the duo paled at the sight of the "thing".
A big ugly Mutant was looking at the group with bloodshot eyes and was standing twenty meters away from where they stood, it had already marked them as its prey.
Its mouth was slit and reach to its ears, blood, and broken fresh meat hanging loose on its big sharp dirty teeth.
Seeing that the trio noticed its presence, the ugly Mutant issued a loud roar.
"Roaarrrr!"
A deafening roar echoed all over the empty streets.
The roar was so piercing that it send shivers down one's spine and the source of it would make one's face pale, body jellies, and question if they had offended some deity above if they were to meet such a big and ugly Zombie that reeks with potential danger and overwhelming power that a mere Phase 1 could not defeat.
Hearing the thunderous terrifying roar that rang all over the street and maybe the nearby district, the group immediately went on guard and look in the same direction.
The sight of the big ugly Mutant really made them grimace.
[Ding! A Phase 2 Mutant has been detected! The host should be careful!]
[Host, it's a Phase 2 Mutant! Aren't you lucky, Host. If you kill it then you can advance to Phase 2 evolutionary, just what you have been looking for! The host should go and defeat it!]
XiaoXiao cheered.
"Am I lucky or am I just too unlucky? And who told you I am looking for one? I'm definitely trying to avoid it!"
Hearing her System cheer her on and wanted her to go and defeat the Mutant, Hua Meili's face darken.
"Phase 2 Mutants were not supposed to appear in the first month of the Apocalypse! They only appeared half a year later in the world though!"
Hua Meili complained to her System inside her head who she imagined was carrying pompoms as it cheered her with a go!
She looked at the Phase 2 Mutant that is just a few meters away from her trying to see if she can run away from it or not.
Would it be better if she fights or flight?
Could she possibly defeat it?
Her Phase 1 strength can already be paired with a Phase 2 so maybe she can possibly do it.
If that is so, then she does not need to be scared away by a mere Phase 2 Mutant when she is alone and this could also benefit her since she needed its Zombie crystal to Level Up.
'But... it is better said than done, right?'
"Is that a Mutant? It looks different from the rest."
Guo Zhongcheng scrutinized the newly arrived Mutant, wary, trying to estimate its strength.
Looking at its hideous and disfigured countenance with dry blood splashed all over its body as torn flesh hang loose on one or two parts of its limbs, he made a disgusted face.
"This Mutant is different from the rest, it looked stronger!" Zhongcheng Qingren said in alarm.
He gouged the strength of the Mutant in front of him and its strength level is definitely higher than the one that he had faced before.
Just its presence alone gave him cold sweats and what's more if it were to show its real strength, they can't possibly defeat it!
They can only run!
"Your correct."
Hua Meili who heard the two speak behind her tried to explain to the two to the best of her capabilities. Like some sales lady trying to entice her customers to buy what she is selling.
Like some con artist trying to explain how to con someone.
Like some shit lawyer trying to swindle the court with his bullshit!
Like someone….. okay, enough!

"This Mutant is a Phase 2 Mutant. It is much stronger and more powerful compared to the Phase 1 Mutants that we had faced so far, so do be careful."
Hua Meili quickly explained her thoughts while not looking away from the Mutant, the same could be said for it.
Hua Meili could feel her back being drenched in sweat, her heart beating faster as she looked at the Mutant eye to eye not avoiding its bloodshot eyes.
She did not even bat her eyelids afraid that if she were to lose eye contact for even just one second with it, it might suddenly disappear and teleport in front of them catching them off guard.
Of the three, she is the only one capable of fighting it.
If she were to lose guard, the two behind her might get in danger.
The Mutant was also not moving from where it stood, it looked at the trio like it was looking at a piece of bloody meat snack.
Licking its slit mouth with its spiky tongue, it then horribly grinned at the group.
"Say XiaoXiao, how many percent are my chances of winning that thing?"
Hua Meili does not know if she should laugh or cry facing the Mutant in front of her.
Should she laugh because she had found a Phase 2 Mutant so easily than finding a boyfriend or cry because she can't possibly defeat it because it's on the highest level of like finding a decent loving humane lover that won't f*ck*ng cheat on you every single f*ck*ng time you turn your back on him!
