The night was long. Both sides were wide awake. They twisted and turned for a long time knowing the presence of other mere footsteps apart. They could have talked. He could have asked her how she has been all these years? why did she loose contact? Did she miss him coz he missed her? and she could have asked how was he? Did he remember everything? Did he miss her coz she missed him? But some things aren't easy. She was shy and has become reserve with people coz everyone took advantage and bully her whenever she lets her guard down and he had made a promise to Grandpa Lu to win her over so he wouldn't rush things. "I'll try tomorrow" Mark promised to himself. "I'll give it a chance" Amber patted her heart and went to sleep.
Next day, Mark got up earlier than required because he had brewed a plan. The Young master of Lu family got dressed and came down to the kitchen. Everyone was asleep yet. Mark put on his headphones, played some music and started looking for flour, butter, eggs, milk. He mixed the ingredients and started making pancakes. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee was all over the place along with hot pancakes. Soon aunt June and uncle Lu came out. "Why are you making the breakfast? You sould have woken me up" aunt june smiled "go start your breakfast, I'll do the rest". Mark smiled and joined uncle Lu on the table. The moment he sat down, Amber walked down the stairs. She was wearing a green off shoulder top with blue denim. Her hair were flowing all over her shoulders giving an animated look.
She looks lovely, this was the only thing Mark was thinking. "Come eat something" aunt June asked her to join the table "it's your first day, lets start it nicely." Amber took the seat between uncle Lu and Mark. It was a round table for four and aunt June joined them after pouring coffee for everyone. "Should we pray before eating?" Mark suggested. The elders looked at each other before uncle Lu said "Sure lets all hold hands".
As Amber was left to Mark, they naturally held hands. Mark looked down and smirked. His plan was working.
