She quickly got up and looked inside the room. There's all sorts of weird things in there like medical equipment and a cabinet full of medicines. She walked further threw the room when she bumped and dropped something. "Huh?" It's a picture frame faced down. She flipped it over and blew the dust off of it, revealing the picture of a 17 year old boy with short brown and a familiar looking teen..
It wasn't long before Rose fingered out the teen next to the brown haired one was Kai. "What's a picture of Kai and a unfamiliar boy doing here?Apparently it's a friend."
She knew all of Kai's friends but not this one and it got under her skin. The teen had brown hair, beautiful sky blue eyes, just the perfect almond shape, however, he looked sickly. The two were standing in front of a Rose Bush, posing for the camera. She moved her hand and saw a small date reading exactly
" December 25,2009."
She looked back at the picture, noticing that the roses were also bloomed. "Wrong time of the year for the roses to be bloomed again... is this a coincidence? Today is January 5th, roses are only supposed to bloom in spring or fall.. " She went outside to the garden to Kai, who was watering the Daisy's. "Kai."
"Yes?"
She holds the picture up to him "Does this look familiar in anyway to you in any way?" She asks.
He tears up a little and looks away. "That was my best friend."
"Was?"
"Yeah... his name was Sky, he always had poor health due to his weak immune system. He would be the only person I could talk to without being judged. Then after getting sick, he became weaker and every little thing would bruise him. " He looked and sounded very sad and hurt.
" If I may ask.... what happened to him..?"
Kai paused for a while.
"In January, a month after we took that picture together, he was diagnosed with cancer and died on Christmas that same year... in this same exact mansion. " A tear fell from his eye.
Rose felt saddened and hugged him "When you think about it, he's in a much better place now. Life IS pretty miserable, don't you agree?"
Kai nodded. " You're right.."
She nods then focused her attention on the rose bushes.
" They were bloomed just this morning..."
"What?" Kai asks.
" You see those roses over there? They were red and bloomed just this morning but now they're closed. It's not normal for ANY plant to do this."
Kai looks shocked for a second. "You're right... But they've always done this." He says.
" Really?" She asks surprised.
" Yes, I've always came to his house and hang out with him in this backyard. They've always seemed to bloom whenever we were back here."
A lightbulb came to Roses head.
" Now its all making sense.." She mumbles.
She plucks a Rose from the bushe and waves it in the air. " Sky, if you're here, can you please give a signal?"
Moments went by until... PLOOF.
The roses suddenly bloomed opened again! She puts her hand down and and looks at Kai.
"See? The roses can sense his spirit and blooms whenever he's nearby... and they close up when he's not nearby."
Kai got up and looked at the roses. He had a somewhat happy look on his face. "R-really??"
She nods and turns back to the bush. "Sky, could you please make yourself visible to my vision?" She politely asked. He appeared. Tall, pale, brown hair, blue eyes, handsome yet sickly looking and had dozens of wires dangling off of him. It seemed that They're supposed to go to the medical machines she saw in that room earlier.
