Angry

Lyn stretched her arms as she looked around the corridor. "This place is worse than a dungeon." The rooms have white walls, white ceiling and ground and there is no window. It would drive any criminal crazy being in a place like this for a long time.

Her thoughts break off hearing the sound of rushing footsteps. Lyn turned around and saw Rhys coming from the other end of the hall.

"Rhys I-" Her sentence fell short when she felt a familiar pair of lips on hers. She blushed. "Uh Rhys-mmm."

He didn't allow her to get any words out and continued to kiss her deeply. It was only when she was out of breath and resting her face in his shoulder did he stop.

"Rhys, I know you are upset with me." Lyn mumbled.

Even now his frantic cry of her name from earlier stayed in her mind. But if she didn't do that Rhys would have gotten injured.

Rhys however didn't speak. He had stopped kissing her but he was now hugging her tightly. Not only was he hugging her but he was also trembling badly. Ah, she must have truly frightened him.

"I'm sorry."

After hearing those words he raised his face and looked at her with a complicated look on his face. It looked like he wanted to get angry at her but instead he shakes his head.

"Even if I lecture you what good will it do?" Rhys muttered. He leaned forward. "I have other ways of punishing you. Do you want to hear it?"

"Um, you really are mad." Lyn trailed off when she spotted the person she saved earlier in the corner. "Your companion is watching, maybe we should save this for later?"

Rhys turned to the man. "Kain, did you give instructions?"

"I informed them what you told me, but this doesn't look good for us. It seemed like there were civilians who saw."

Rhys sighed. "Then we should-"

"Send a message to Teo." Lyn instructed. "He will take care of it."

Rhys looked at her with a troubled gaze. "But won't calling for the imperial knights stand out more?"

"No." Kain interjected. "If she is talking about that General, then he should handle this issue swiftly without attracting too much attention."

"Correct, I don't have him babysit my assassin for nothing." Lyn smiled. "Send the message like this." She tosses a sheet of paper at Kain.

"Is this some kind of code?"

"Mm, he will know it's from me."

"Then I will head downstairs." Kain turned to Rhys. "You better head to the medic center and have your hand treated." With those words said the man rushed off.

Rhys hand? Lyn turned her attention to it and her eyes widened horrified seeing how red and bruised up it was. Did he bang on the door with full strength to get it open?

Lyn immediately grabbed hold of it and Rhys tried to pry his hand away.

"This is nothing."

"No, no, no. If you don't treat this on time it will cause severe damage-" Lyn trailed off when he slammed his hand against the wall causing a large crack to form and his fist to bleed. "Rhys-"

"I can't take it anymore. I really am angry at you." Rhys snapped. "What on earth were you thinking? No were you even thinking at all?"

"I-It's just," Lyn raised her hand holding up the gun. "I saw that he had one of these. I don't know whether you know about them yet but these can severely injure people quickly."

"I know, it's a gun right?" Rhys took something out of his pocket. "I have one too."

Ah, so then she didn't need to panic?

"From that reaction, it seems like you were trying to protect me. That's sweet and all. But, you should look at this from my perspective too. Do you know how terrified I was when I saw a man that resembled silver?"

Lyn blinked hearing his words. "Did you also realise that he wasn't real?"

"Yes, but it took me a moment to register. For a moment I thought Silver was still alive and that he was out to kill you. But Kain reminded me that it was impossible and reminded me how Silver stole somebody's appearance."

"Your organisation has more information than I thought." Lyn muttered.

"It's an organisation I made to benefit you."

Lyn raised her hand. "I think you should stop there Rhys."

"Stop?"

"Yes." Lyn nodded. "You should stop saying that type of stuff to me."

If he continues saying such lines, her heart will no longer be able to take it.

Rhys appeared in front of her and leaned forward. "Is it because your growing attached to me?"

"I-if you know then you should stop right there."

His lips curved to a smile. The anger in his eyes had vanished replacing it with a gentle gaze. "If that is what you like my Queen. Should I tell you my other good deeds?"

"No." Lyn said bluntly. "Five years have passed. I can already guess what you are trying to say. For somebody who didn't see me for five years, you sure are loyal."

"Of course I am."

He built an entire information guild from scratch, that is no easy feat. He spent hours recruiting people personally. Lyn knew his personality very well. He must have hand picked every single member, and that's why he was distraught when he saw the scene.

Lyn hesitantly extended her hand out and touched his cheeks. "You worked so hard for me in the shadows. But," She trailed off and wrapped her arms around his neck. She whispered softly in his ear. "-you never came to see me."

She doesn't need all of this. While the Spider group is a great asset to her as a Queen. It didn't matter to her. What she wanted from Rhys the most was

"Now it feels like you're the one who is angry."

"I'm not."

Rhys picked her up. "I'll take you to my room."

"You have a place here too?"

"Well, it's more like a bed in the office."

Lyn blinked hearing those words and she laughed. They are truly similar.

"Don't laugh." Rhys grumbled.

"I seem to remember you were the one who lectured me about taking breaks."

It's strange, even though something dangerous just happened not too long ago she is able to laugh freely like this.
