CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE (29) Animal With Dagger

As soon as the two men was escorted out of the office by policemen, Xu Dandan dropped to the ground while Ye Zedong heaved.

He wiped sweats off his forehead, he doesn't remember how long it has been that he had to disobey Rose just to protect her. He made a deep bow then said, "Please forgive me, ma'am." He had to though... if he hadn't then... no! He'd rather not think about it. It would have been devastating...

He was still considering to move when the man charged forward. Just how was he able to get pass the security? Ye Zedong's head was muddled.

"Phew," He heard Rose say.

That Zhang Wei seemed to be opposite of what he appeared as. "it's fine." She then turned to check up on Xu Dandan, she was crying. "No, no, no." Rose shook her head thrice. "Don't do that."

"Really? I... I shouldn't do... I shouldn't do what?" Xu Dandan asked in between tears. "How can... how can you do this? Why? Why? Why? Do you want me to die from heart attack? Who is that jerk? That jerk was ready to attack you. He kept yelling even after you apologized... oh no... oh my poor heart... this isn't fair!" Xu Dandan continued to complain. "I'm going to find him, I promise... and I'd mercilessly with him... that bast-rd!" She shocked then started to cough loudly.

"Dan'er..."

"Don't Dan'er me!" Xu Dandan placed her hands over her ears. "That animal was with a dagger!" She screamed out loud. "He came to attack you! How is that fine? Hunh? He was willing to risk it all! It's broad daylight! He didn't seem to care. He had an aim, yes..." Xu Dandan wailed.

Other employees were trying to see through the transparent glass, as they all couldn't fit, they hit the glass with a loud bang.

Rose sharp gaze moved towards the entrance, and they all scurried away. Ye Zedong pushed Zhang Wei with so much force that his head hit the glass, but it didn't discourage him, he smiled like someone that was possessed then made for her again.

Ye Zedong tried hard to control his own anger. Wherever that Zhang Wei came from, he must have been trained to be a dog or a ferocious beast. He would have removed all his teeth, if the security hadn't come on time.

"He waved the dagger at you..." Xu Dandan mumbled then raised her eyes to meet Rose's. "He wanted to hurt you... he didn't even care if you'd survive it or not..." Xu Dandan clutched her clothes tightly. "How could we be so careless? Just how? That maniac... he must have been sent by Miss Peng... yes... that's the only way someone would so casually attack you."

"Don't say that." Rose seemed to be talking to herself though, as Xu Dandan started to mumble inaudibly.

Xu Dandan thought back to some minutes ago, Rose mocking laughter had been heard by that evil man, his friend also tried to tell him it was okay, but he suddenly pulled out a dagger from his waist, pushed his friend aside and headed for Rose.

Rose had just raised her head in time to move aside.

Xu Dandan was shocked senseless as well, but she tried to rush forward to shield Rose... What if Ye Zedong had moved when Rose asked him to... maybe... just maybe the dagger would have slatched Rose's shoulder... What if...

"No!" The thought of it, made her shake. "That man... where did he come from? Hmm?" She had seen his eyes glisten. He knew exactly what he was doing! Everything else was in order... but nothing else would have mattered if he had just gotten too close to Rose.

They would have been devastated.

Xu Dandan line of thought was interrupted by the three men at the door.

"Ma'am!" He Duyi, Mingyu and Donghai chanted from the door.

Ye Zedong matched towards them. "Have you found him?"

"President Lu is not in the country." Duyi information shocked even Rose.

Xu Dandan sprang up from the ground. "No!" That wasn't possible. "How could it be?" There was no way she would believe that. "He had called me."

"He might have, but we've checked his office and even found his home address, he's not in the country." Mingyu spoke up. "According to our search and checkings, Mr Lu hasn't been in the country since two weeks ago."

Rose: "So you mean, Lu Jing..."

"Is solely on his own in this." Duyi informed yet again.

"Zhang Wei anyways, is the leader of a secret mafia group." Donghai statement caused Xu Dandan's head to spin. He went over to the couch, put his laptop down and showed them pictures. There was a lot of pictures, but each of them only had one visible face which was Zhang Wei's, everyone standing behind him was clad in black, with face covering.

Rose hissed. "No wonder,"

"No wonder what?" Xu Dandan asked. "How did you even meet him?" Xu Dandan couldn't think of when last she got herself in trouble or when Rose got into trouble. "When did all these happen?"

"Was it at the club?" He Duyi neck veered towards his boss. That was the only time, Dandan wasn't with Rose.

"o" They all had the same expression.

Rose massaged her temples, "Where I met him doesn't matter..."

"It sure does." Ye Zedong interrupted her. "When did you go to a club?"

"Five days ago..." He Duyi didn't hesitate to answer.

"I can't believe this..." Xu Dandan nervously bit on her nails. "Why would you even go to a club on weekday to get into trouble?"

"We can't just let the police hold them, though." Mingyu smirked. He also looked towards Rose. "We just can't, ma'am... if we don't teach him a lesson, he will never learn. So we can't let them remain there."

Everyone else turned to Rose to hear her part except Dandan whose heart was racing.
