Friends and Circumstances

Yasuko is going up the stairs with Rei following behind her or so she thought. The brown-haired Beta continued walking up the stairs before stopping, turning her head around to look at her friend. She raised a brow at the red-haired Omega who was already standing a few meters away from him with his bangs hiding his face, head down and staring below. 'What is wrong with him?' She thought, going back down, stopping in from of him.

"What's wrong?" Yasuko asked, tilting her head to the side to take a glance at his face but the red-haired didn't answer.

She stands straight up, turning her head around to look at their surroundings and noticing that they are the only ones in the staircase. Probably because it is already late and people are probably having dinner inside their apartments. She then turned her attention to the person in front of her and crossed her arms, sighing before asking, "Are you sure you want to go and see him? You don't look too good."

The red-haired slowly lifted his head to look straight at Yasuko's eyes who has her brows raised at him, "I'm not sure."

"Then..." Yasuko looked past Rei and stares at the scenery outside the window before muttering, "Why don't you stay in our house for a while?"

Rei forced a smile, shaking his head. "It's okay, Yako. I don't want to disturb."

"What do you mean? Don't act like you're a stranger. You already met my parents, haven't you?" Yasuko sighed, dropping her hands to the side.

"It's fine, Yako. I'm okay. You don't have to worry." Rei tried to give his friend a big smile, hoping that his friend will cut the conversation they are having.

He grabbed onto the hem of his shirt, wanting to run away but his feet feels stuck with the way Yasuko is staring at him. Yasuko then grabbed on his shoulder which made the latter's eyes widen. They both stare at each other's eyes. She was staring straight into his eyes, scanning his before scowling and turning her back to him.

Pouting, she whispered as if almost muttering to herself, "Stop lying. You look like you're about to cry."

Rei's eyes widened at what he heard. About to cry? Him? He immediately starts to harshly rub his eyes with the back of his hand, hoping to rub away the look on his face before he stopped, realizing something. The back of his hands is still on his eyes. and hiding his whole expression. He cursed until his breath. Damn. He hates this part of her. Yasuko is just too observant!

"Rei," Yasuko called with her back still facing the Omega, crossing her arms again. "One of my aunts has an apartment. You can stay there if you want. It is an apartment complex near our school and the rent is cheap too so... Give me a call if you change your mind."

Rei put his hand down and softly smiled, "I will."

"Let's go." Yasuko sighed, dropping her hands and muttering, "And when you get there, tell him that he should be thankful I haven't cut his dick off. Yet."

"Thank you, Yako." Rei just chuckled, shaking his head.

The two of them continued to walk towards Rei and Haruo's apartment. When they reached the front door, as Yasuko observed, the hallway they are in is also quiet due to the time. She glanced at Rei who was then glaring at the front door, grabbing tightly on his bag. He was contemplating whether he will press the doorbell or open it with his keys. Yasuko doesn't know if she will sigh at how much his hands are shaking as he reached for the doorbell. And he said he is okay...

The time his finger touched the doorbell, he immediately pulled his hand back before turning his head around to face his brown-haired friend who softly smiled as an encouragement. They stood there for a few minutes and Rei had already pressed the doorbell twice but no one is still opening the door. Weird. He didn't know Haruo will be late. Rei then raised his hand to press the doorbell but stopped when the door suddenly opened, causing the two to take a step back and eyes widening when a medium blonde-haired girl popped her head out the door.

"Oh? Hello. You must be Haruo-san's roommate!" she widely smiled, stepping back to completely open the door before politely bowing. "I'm so sorry for suddenly stopping by. I just want to surprise him."

'What the hell is happening here? Why is a girl---' Yasuko thought and stopped when she suddenly remembered the rumors in their school, turning her head to Rei in shock and getting confused about what is happening. Rei didn't look so great either. He dropped his bag on the floor, mouth gaping in shock, and the color drained from his face. The brown-haired want to shake his shoulder to wake him up but the girl in front of them looked confused at their reaction.

Yasuko forced a smile before asking her, "Umm... You are?"

"Oh! I'm sorry for the late introduction. I'm Asuka Fujimura, Haruo-san's fiancée." The girl named Asuka slightly bowed, lifting her head back up and smiling widely. Damn. So those rumors are true...

Meanwhile back in the car, the two were still arguing about the same topic. Kyou had his back on his seat, comfortably sitting with his arms crossed. He glanced at his friend who was already pouting and looking outside the window, sulking and muttering to herself. She was saying words like Kyou is being mean, stubborn and he should shut his huge mouth up.

"Just admit that you have trust issues, Shi," Kyou smirked, staring at the Omega.

Shiori turned her head to glare at him. "No."

"Shi." Kyou sighed, shaking his head. "We are already best friends for years."

"Aww. Best friends~" Shiori uttered as she pouted, closing and opening her eyes to give him puppy eyes.

"Though, you're the one who always bothers me before to be your friend." Kyou muttered to himself, looking away and earning a glare from Shiori before continuing, "Setting that aside, I know you don't want people to get close to you. It's rare for you to even trust them."

"He is kind, Kyou," Shiori whined, dropping her head forward as she sighed. "I know Sen. But... I don't think it will work out."

"How would you know if you haven't tried?" Kyou raised a brow and watched how Shiori turned her head to look away from Kyou's stare.

"I..." Shiori was thinking about what should she tell him and tried to find the right word to answer but instead, she sat straight and cross her arms before muttering, "I tried. Before. And it's too late."

The once comfortable atmosphere inside the car then changed when she said that. Kyou continues to stare at Shiori before sighing, turning his attention to the windshield. He didn't want to press the topic anymore because he knew who she was talking about. But what else can he do even if he knew about it? Help them? When one of them didn't even want to take a step forward? The two of them are so slow. Their thoughts were cut off when Shiori's phone starts to ring.

"Oh! Yako~ What's taking you too long?" Shiori whined, pouting and her eyes slowly widened in shock because of Yasuko's explanation with her eyes shaking in panic.

Just when Kyou turned his head towards Shiori's direction, his eyes widened when the blonde suddenly gasped in shock as she slowly turned her head to Kyou in terror, "What did you just say?! Whose fiancée?!"
