Ryo in the big city

Ryo was walking inside a small human city, but compared to his village it was one impressive settlement. He had parted with Ryan a while ago. They both traded some information, and Ryo got to know him pretty well. He got to know that Ryan works out of the Brumund Kingdom most of the time. Ryo promised he would seek out Ryan for any trade in the future.

Ryan found out by accident that Ryo was a monster, but he didn't care one bit as he liked Ryo as a person. Him finding out Ryo being a monster escalated to a form of trade between them.

Ryan traveled in the Jura forest quite a lot and he made a deal with Ryo about security. Ryo would arrange escort every time Ryan needed protection through the forest. This was how their first trade deal was born.

He was now walking around, looking for a weapon shop. He had gotten some gold coins from Ryan when he found out Ryo had nothing on him. He didn't refuse at all. To him, holding gold in his hand felt like the most natural thing.

"Maybe this is the rumored behavior of dragons. Their obsession for wealth. Hope i don't become like that. Even though it might already be too late." Ryo was fiddling with a gold coin in his hand.

After walking around for a while, he finally found what he was looking for. A building with a sign that showed two swords cross over each other.

"Finally a weapon shop. Let's see if i can find any good spears." Ryo walked inside the weapon shop, still fiddling with the gold coin in his hand.

"Welcome, dear customer. What are you looking for today?" A man with a big smile welcomed Ryo inside.

"Hey, I'm looking for a spear, and not something fancy. I just need a simple spear weapon." Ryo didn't bother with familiarity and went to the heart of the matter immediately.

"Well, i do certainly have what you're looking for. Please follow me and i will show you our selection." The man stepped away from the counter and showed Ryo the way towards the spear weapon section of the store.

They walked to a corridor that was located at the back of the shop. The owner opened one of the first doors in the corridor. Inside the room was spears, a lot of spears. The walls were filled with them. This one apparently a room for only spears.

"This is our fine selection of spears. Take your time to try out which you like them come find me." The owner walked back to the front to welcome a woman that had just entered the shop.

"Now what kind of spear am i looking for." Ryo looked around on all the spears hanging on the wall.

You could clearly see the difference between the spears that was made with good materials, and the ones that was easily gonna break. Ryo didn't need a fancy spear, and he didn't have a lot of gold to spend on weapon either. He wanted a simple but pretty heavy spear. He had fantastic physical strength, so something that had some weight to it would do him good.

"This one looks good." Ryo was standing in front of a simple looking spear. There were no real impressive ornaments on it, but it looked sturdy and the kind that he was looking for. It was just a simple pole with a decently long blade at the tip. The whole spear was black and when he picked it up, he noticed it was quite heavy, even for him. The weapon wasn't heavy enough to make him uncomfortable, but Ryo could definitely feel the weight.

"decent weight, good balance, i definitely like this one a lot. And on top of it all, it's quite cheap. It's just within my price range." The spear was 18 gold, and Ryo had a little over 20 that he got from Ryan.

"Guess this is the one that will have to do for now. I will get a better one when i actually get better at using the spear." Ryo walked out of the room and was preparing to pay for the weapon.

At the front of the shop he noticed a woman currently in the process of buying a sword. The weapon looked a lot more fancy then his own. He tried to sense the energy level of the woman, and he immediately got a rough estimate on her strength.

"She is almost half immortal. I think that's pretty impressive considering that she's human." Shizue had passed the half immortal tier (100k-10m) so this woman was weaker then her.

She was around 160cm in height and had red hair with an average look. She wasn't one of those world class beauties that Ryo had heard about, but she was stronger then the average person so that in itself made her more desirable.

"Thank you for the purchase and come again if you need some help taking care of that weapon there." The owner finished the deal with the woman and bid her good-bye.

"oh, so have you decided on a weapon yet, Sir?" The owner turned his full attention onto Ryo again.

"yes! I found this one, and it seems to fit what i need right now" Ryo put the spear on the counter a little too hard and a crack appeared on the wooden counter.

"Oops, sorry about that" Ryo spoke with a lazy tone.

"ha ha, no problem. You are quite impressive though. You are the first one who could life it so easily ever since i got it. Very impressive, Sir!" The owner didn't mind the half broken counter. He was more happy about that spear finally getting sold. The last few years it had only taken up space anyways.

"i can see that being the case. Even i can feel it has some weight, and i just happen to be pretty strong." Ryo had some respect for the creator of this weapon.

"Well, that's all good, but that will be 18 gold, Sir.!"

"here!" Ryo gave a bag the the owner, and inside was 18 gold. Now he only had 2 gold left, and he was ready to head back to the village.

"Thank you! Come back any time you feel like buying a better weapon." They said their good-bye and Ryo made his way out.

Ones outside he started walking in the direction of the Jura forest. When he approached the gate leading outside the village he suddenly felt eyes on him. He would have noticed people following him, so whoever it was, they just started following him.

He didn't feel any danger from the one following him so he would keep up the act of unawareness until he reached the forest, and if they were still following him, he would confront them. He didn't want to attract attention because of how annoying it would be. He just wanted to return to the village and start practicing with his new weapon.

"I have to give it to them. They sure are brave. We have left the town but still, they are not giving up." The one following him had been identified now by Ryo, and it turned out to be the woman from the weapons shop.

Ryo started jogging until he entered the outer layer of the Jura forest. He stopped and leaned on a tree, and proceeded to simply wait for the woman to catch up. It didn't take long for the same woman he had seen before to appear from behind on of the trees in front of Ryo.

"Hi there, let me just say that if you're here to challenge me then you will be sorely disappointed, woman." Ryo didn't have on a smile this time. He just talked with a calm and a little arrogant tone to emphasis his superiority in strength.

"eh, no, i am actually here to request you assistance my lord!" The woman bent down on one knee and spoke with out most respect.

¨W-Well this is certainly not something i was able to predict." Ryo's face twisted in confusion.

"Let's hear what you've got to say. State your business" Ryo took on a commanding tone and released a little pressure to test the woman.
