Mar 18 : Check-up

Dear Diary,

The doctor visits me today to do weekly check-ups. He changed the bandage whilst he did so. And you know what? My ankle is swollen and full of bruises! No wonder it hurts like hell this whole week! But the doctor told me that it can get worse than this if I didn't care for it.

I should probably say thanks to my sister as she was the one forcing me to call for a doctor. Or forcing Joe, to be exact.

All in all, the doctor said it's healing up nicely, but he still doesn't let me move around too much and certainly doesn't allow me to do anything that can strain my leg. Or else, my fracture bones will need longer to heal. Not like I can move too much with this kind of pain, though.

On the other hand, that means I'd need to spend another week in absolute boredom again.

He told me that fracture bones need around six weeks to heal. SIX WEEKS.

I don't think my boss will be happy with me taking sick leave for six weeks, no matter how good this boss is. One week is long enough, two weeks is he being gracious. More than that? I doubt I'd still be accepted as one of his employees.

Joe said that he'd asked the boss to give me another week of sick leave, so let's just hope that the boss will give me an exception. Even if I go to work now, I doubt I'd be of use to them. My main job is delivering and collecting mails, but now that I'm unable to use one of my feet, how am I supposed to do my work? Wheelchair?

That's one solution. Except that I don't have a wheelchair. Or any other vehicle.

I'm poor.

Speaking of poor, today's check-up cost us 20 silver. That's only for the check-up fee, not including the bandage! Changing the bandage cost another 5 silver. That's a total of 25 silver, just for one visit... Why doctors are so expensive.

Thankfully my boss is still giving me half of my payment despite I'm on sick leave. After I get better, I'd work harder to show my gratitude to him!
