Day Nine part 1

The next morning Lillian was finally able to talk and was happy to see Jake.

"I'm sorry I could not give you an answer the other day." She said looking sad.

"What is it then." He was hoping Zane was right.

"I would love to marry you." She said turning a little red.

"Then I'll get a minister her right away." Jake was beaming. Before she could say another word he ran out the door.

Lillian was shocked, 'I did not mean right this second' she said to herself.

Just then Carrie came in with some flowers. "How my girl?"

"Doing better. How are the guys?" She asked.

"Doing good. They ask about you all the time. When are you coming back?" Carrie asked handing her the vase of daisies.

"Soon, I miss my work. Carrie?" Lillian looked down at her hands.

"Yes?"

"Jake asked me to marry him."

"..." Carrie did not know what to say.

"I said yes. I think it's going to happen today."

Just as Carrie was going to ask why Jake comes back with the priest of the hospital and a nurse.

"Good one more to witness." He looked at Carrie and was grinning. "Ready to be my wife?"

"Yes, I guess."

"Wait, Why so fast?" Carrie yelled.

"Because I don't want to wait a few months for the big wedding." Jake said sounding kind of childish.

"Please Carrie, it's what I want." Lillian looked at her friend.

"Ok, lets get this going then." Carrie looked at the girl she had been helping since her grandmother passed.

Jake stood to the right of Lillian while the nurse and Carrie stood on her left. The priest stood at the end of the bed.

"Today we stand in front of these two witnesses to join these two people in holy matrimony. Do you Lillian Rose Hood take Jake Smith Wolf to love and cherish in sickness and in health for richer or poorer till death do you part."

"I do" She smiled at Jake.

"Do you Jake Smith Wolf take Lillian Rose Hood to love and cherish in sickness and in health for richer or poorer till death do you part."

"Yes, I do."

"Do you have a ring?"

Jake hands him two rings. They are gold bands with roses.

"Place the ring on her finger and say With the ring I thee wed."

He slipped the ring onto her left ring finger and said, "With this ring I thee wed."

The priest then handed the other ring to Lillian. "Place the ring on his finger and say with this ring I thee wed."

She slipped the ring on his left hand and said, "With this ring I thee wed."

"By the power invested in me by the church and this state I now pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride.

They Embraced and kissed.

"Now we need the two witnesses to sign the certificate, and the two love birds."

Everyone sign and the priest was the last to sign. "File these with the courthouse and you will be married. Have a wonderful day."

Carrie left at the same time giving Lillian a hug and telling her they would talk later.

Jake sent Zane a message to come and file the license.

Lillian was looking at her ring. She loved the simple beauty of the ring.

"Happy?" Jake kissed her head.

"Yes, I love it. Thank you." She smiled up at him.Mrs. Wolf had contacted an old friend. They were meeting in an old bar.

At three PM...

"How are you dear?" He asked.

"Not good. I need some help from you." She stated.

"I owe you, so what ever you need, if I can give it just ask."

"I want someone killed." She said.

"That is a big favor. Who?" he asked.

"My son, he took away my right to my fathers company and caused his father to leave me. With him gone the company will be mine and I'll get my husband back."

"He's your son, are you sure?"

"Yes, you said you would do anything after I got you out of a prison stay." She was not going to take no for an answer.

"Fine, I'll need time to find the best place and time."

"It must be before he marries this low life girl."

"What her name?" He asked.

"Lillian Hood she has bright red hair."

'Lillian Rose, why?' He just shook his head at his thought.

"Do you know her?" Mrs. Wolf seen the change in his face.

"No, I just was thinking. Give me your son Schedule."

Mrs. Wolf handed him a folder with the information she had on her son and his girlfriend.

"After this we are even. I don't like this." He said getting up.

"I don't care if you like it or not I just want it done." She was smiling at her plan to get her husband back.

Gary walked out of the bar. 'Why was Lillian involved in this. How could he do anything against his little red.'

Gary was in the wrong place at the wrong time during a bank robbery 10 years ago. He was arrested as one of the robbers and was going to prison when Mrs. Wolf come forward and cleared his name.

He had told her if she ever needed anything he could provide just to ask. Never in his wildest dreams his he think she would ask him to murder someone, let alone her own son.

He made his way back to Caring Hand to talk to Carrie.

"Carrie do you have a minute?" Gary asked.

"Come in Gary, What can I do for you?" She smiled.

"How is Little Red doing?" He asked looking at his shoes.

"Doing fine. She is in the hospital recovering from appendicitis."

Gary looked up, "Is she alone?"

"No, her new husband is with her. They got married right in the hospital. I got to be a witness." She was beaming.

"Oh, Ok as long as she is doing ok then I won't worry." He got up.

"She said as soon as she can she'll be back." Carrie said as he left the room.

Gary left the building and headed to the hospital. But first he had to clean up. He went to his one room apartment and took a shower and put his best suit on then headed out.
