chapter 5

Shawn William , the probable successor of the Cooper organization was the computer prodigy of Harbor High . He has always been an exceptional kid but he keeps his distance from everyone except his friends.

Shawn's mother died of an illness 8 years ago and his father remarried soon after that which led to Shawn's depression and closing himself from the world. He became a man of few words and those, were mostly harsh.

Taking this as an opportunity Anna's father sent his kids to befriend Shawn for better work relation with Shawn's father .The ten year old Shawn was unaware of this and thought they were his only saviors who helped him overcome his plight. Since then they became an integral part of his life. Jeremy, Anna's brother only hangs out with Shawn for his money and Anna always had a crush on him. Little did Shawn know that his so called friends were only good at exploiting him.

After entering Harbor High along with Anna and her brother Shawn came to be known as 'The Prince of Harbor High' as ridiculous as it may sound it was soon the title designated to Shawn for his cold and arrogant behaviour.

Shawn had completed his assignment and closed the books. As soon as he got up everyone around him dispersed. Shawn knew what happened and felt irritated that he couldn't get privacy.

Shawn got a call from Jeremy .

"Hey . What's up?"

"Shawn , Anna is in a terrible condition right now .She has been crying her eyes out since the time she came back from school ."

"What happened ?" Shawn was worried about Anna.

"I'll explain it all to you once you get here. Hurry up and come to our house .We will be waiting."

Jeremy sounded in distress and so Shawn was in a hurry to get to him. He paced up and started running in the garden where he bumped across someone .It was Emily.

Emily was trying to get back to the dorm quickly before Lucy's roommates get to her. She was in a hurry and so ended in the situation where she bumped into Shawn and fell on top of him. She hurt her wrist in the process.

Before she could say anything Shawn said in a disgusted tone," When are you planning on getting up? Didn't you get a good feel of my body or wasn't it enough for you ?"

Shawn thought she was another one of his stalker and was pissed off.

"What the heck are you even saying ? " Emily said angrily as she got up ," Do you think …"

Before she could finish her words he rolled his eyes and hurriedly left the place.

Emily was really irritated by this behavior ," What does he think of himself ! idiot "

Shawn went to Anna's house .He was welcomed with an unforeseen sight. Anna was bawling her eyes out and her friends were trying to console her .He was baffled cause had never seen his headstrong friend like this and wondered what happened.

Jeremy came upto Shawn and tried explaining.

"She has been like this since the cafeteria incident in the afternoon. I've never seen her in such a miserable state. "

"What happened ?"Shawn became curious about the cafeteria incident jeremy mentioned.

"That…" Sasha stuttered.

"Is anybody going to explain to me what exactly happened?"

"The newbies have been bullying Anna since the day they entered. They threw her belongings into the fountain, spilled milkshake on her and even called her all sorts of names in front of everyone today. Anna didn't want to cause trouble and kept silent all this while." Sasha lied to Shawn as planned .

"Why did they do all those things?"

Jeremy jumped in to answer

"Cause they were jealous of Anna as she is close to you. Apparently they have a crush on you and couldn't bear the fact that you guys are close friends. They even said Anna seduced you to be close to you. They said this in front of the whole school."

"Despicable !How low can someone get .Why did you guys not take any action? They need to be expelled right now."

"Anna stopped us from doing anything against them as she was scared they might get into trouble. She was worried since they weren't from well to do families they might face hardships if they were expelled."

Seeing Anna cry bewildered him ."Those lunatics are going pay for what they've done"

Anna smiled from the corner of her face as he told that and hugged him tightly.

Emily walked back to the dorm still cursing Shawn.

" Are Shawn and Anna a pair made in heaven ? cause they'd be perfect together. Two awful personalities suit each other." She was thinking all this and went back to her room. Lucy was there waiting for her.

" Lucy ! When did you get here weren't you sleeping ?"

"Nah I thought of lightening the mood. You suggested a movie night right? So I went ahead bought some snacks for it." Lucy said pointing towards the snacks she just bought.

" Aww Lucy that was so thoughtful of you. I'll get changed and by then you decide what movie you want to watch. " Emily said and went to freshen up

Three hours had passed Emily and Lucy were busy browsing the net for another movie and suddenly there was a knock on the door . Emily got up and opened the door. It was Sasha.

Emily wondered if she was going to pick up another fight. To her surprise she came forward and took both of their hands in hers and said " I'm so sorry guys ."

" I shouldn't have acted in the way I did. I was too caught up with proving myself right and forgot my morals . I am honestly ashamed of my actions ."

Emily was suspicious of her actions. Why would she suddenly come up and apologize ? Was it another one of her tricks ?

Before she could reply Lucy went ahead and said," Sasha we both were at wrong it's fine let start afresh. Right Emily ? " Lucy looked at Emily with hopeful eyes.

Emily just gave in and nodded.

"Hey by the way ,Anna realized that she was wrong and has been repenting her actions .Can you guys please forgive her as well ?"

Emily was sure something wasn't right . Lucy was too naive and believed her. She said , " Of course we will. I'm glad she realized her mistake. To be honest we shouldn't have had thrown the milkshake on her either. It was wrong on our part."

"Thank gosh ! Anna was so worried whether you guys would forgive her or not ."

Emily wasn't sure what was happening but didn't want to prolong the fight so she said, " It is fine Let us forget about that ."

" Anna wanted to personally come and apologize but she had some work so she invited you guys to her house tonight. She has a party planned tonight ."

Emily wasn't feeling good about what was happening.
