Chapter 4: Elune

The great hall stands up to its name. The layout reminds me of the Catholic Church in my hometown, only it doesn't have a cross on its altar. The first thing that caught my attention was the collosal chandelier in the center of the ceiling. Looking from directly below, it looks like a full moon. The glass reflects the weak light of the sun towards the altar of the great hall. The light carves out the image of a woman sitting on a crescent moon.

"Did you hear that?" Kate was startled. She heard it too. The faint footstep from a few meters behind us. I looked back and saw no one.

A heavily armed guard was stationed at the altar who soon moves to greet us.

"Apologies my king but, the preparations for the feast are not yet complete. I suggest you head straight to the Moon Garden."

"At ease.Notify me when you're done," Estes then turns towards us. "Then I guess you'll both meet the Moon Goddess earlier than scheduled , follow me to the Goddess' Chamber. Miya you come with us as well."

The guard marches back to his station as we followed Estes into one of the doors of the great hall.

"Neh president, by moon goddess, does he mean the goddess is shaped like a moon? or does she have like a moon face?" asked Kate. She's as careless and rude as ever.

"Shut Up! What if he hears you!"

"What if he won't? " She smirks

Argghh. She frustrates me.

The door lights up with a faint blue glow and Slowly opens up revealing a long staircase going up. I can only see Light at the end of the staircase.

"Now come. The Moon Goddess is eager to see you."

The door behind us slowly closes. I felt a gust of wind as if someone suddenly ran to overtake the closing door. However there was nobody there, No sound, just the wind.

King Estes lead the way up the staircase explaining about the Moon Goddess.

"The Land of Dawn is home to multiple Gods. They keep the world in balance. One of them is Elune, the Moon Goddess. She is the one who created us, the elves. She is in charge of protecting the Elven Forest. You'll get to know her better."

We reached the top of the staircase. I was in awe from the beauty of what was in front of me. A garden of Flowers that glow different shades of blue. Sparkling blue water flowed across the two divisions of the garden. Everything was blue. The peaceful atmosphere was calming my anxiety down.

"Elune-sama, I have brought the otherworlders."

At that moment, the flowing water stopped, the blue glow of the flowers slowly moved like wisps, gathering in the center of the garden and emitted a blinding light. The light fades and reveals a woman in silk clothing.

She was beautiful. Her Azure eyes can capture the hearts of any man. Her long blue hair moved like the calm waves.

"She really is a goddess," I thought to myself.

"That, I am young one. I am Elune, the Goddess of the moon," she said as if she was reading my mind. "Did I disappoint you little miss? I can transform into a more suitable form to your liking," she asked Kate.

"Yikes, she heard me," said Kate guiltily.

She chuckled a charming laugh. Damn it, even her laugh is heavenly.

"What are your names young ones."

"Hai! Kate Claver, 17,Junior student at Idsidi School of the Elite," yells Kate, like she's talking to someone her age.

"Good day Elune-sama. I am Cl Lark, student council president of the same school. It is an honor to meet you, " I ignored Kate's behavior and introduced myself.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too. You must be wondering why you have been brought here to our world. And Yes Mr. Lark, you are not hallucinating."

I bit my lip. She knew what I was thinking. I calmly bowed my head a bit.

"Our world, the Land of Dawn is now in danger. The Dark Abyss has gained territory, the advent of the new Demon Lord has strengthened their power. The Moniyan Empire leads the battle to repel the Abyss, however, it is only a matter of time before the empire falls. The Council of Kings have decided to seek help from other worlds."

It slowly makes sense to me. I looked at Kate and she looks surprisingly calm.

"So basically, we are those other world beings you asked help from?" She asked. "Wow, this sounds like a cliche anime."

"However,with all due respect, you are mistaken. We are just normal highschool kids. We don't have any sort of supernatural power like King Estes. We would like you to send us back to our world," I calmly demanded.

She looks at me like she is inspecting me.

"You do say that but I sense great potential from the both of you. As for your request, unfortunately, the Portal to your world consumed all of my Mana. It would take some time before I can open the gate again," explains the goddess.

"Great, so we're stuck here", I whispered to Kate.

"What are you complaining for? We just have to beat the demon lord right? Let's do it!" She says.

"Then, Tell me of this 'potential' you speak of," I lost my cool and spoke to the Goddess with a sharp voice.

"You are currently weak. No more than a simple human. However you have the potential to grow into something greater than heroes."

A Hologram appeared in front of me. Kate jumped away, so she probably has the same hologram however I can't see hers.

Estes and Miya looked surprised. They look around trying to find what the goddess is referring to.

"So basically We can level up and increase our stats? Woaaahh,this really feels like a game ," Kate says cheerfully.

Estes and Miya looked at Kate, insulted.

"Game? You dare think of this as a game? War! is not a game!" yells Miya.

Suddenly, a hysterical laugh echoed through the garden. All of us froze in shock save for the goddess.
