Village?

Kai awoke. He was still sitting on the edge. The tree behind him rustled through the soft wind. Kai looked down, he was covered in dried blood. It was mid-day, and the sun was in the sky, glowing a bright blue.

The sun was different, instead of it's usual yellow color, it was a bright blue. Kai looked up, the pain began to rise once again.

He was used to pain now, and tried to stand. Kai got halfway up until he fell back down. His legs were asleep, unable to move at all.

Kai decided the best course of action was to lay down for now, and try to crawl to some water. He was completely dehydrated and hungry. He hadn't eaten or drank in an entire day.

Kai's entire body was piercing with pain. No spot wasn't feeling pain. The most painful part of his body though, was his legs. Despite being asleep, both of his legs were on fire, burning in pain.

Ah!

He tried to stand again, only to fall, landing on a broken branch. In front of him was an entire ocean, which he couldn't even get to because the edge was so high. Plus, his legs were numb and asleep.

Kai began to crawl forward, going around the tree. His upper-body was having the same burning sensation as his legs. While, his legs were getting dragged over several stones and sticks.

He went around the tree, facing the forest was behind him.

A Blood Trail.....

He had left a blood trail leading right to the tree at the edge.

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

The demon would probably follow him if it smelled the blood. That's when Kai remembered, he had hid some of his insides in a bush to distract the demon. He still had time to move.

But first, he had to do something about his leg situation. Also, he was leaving a bloody trail, almost as thick as his trail leading to the tree.

Kai began to feel nauseous, and began to crawl to the edge.

BRGHGHGGG

He threw up over the ledge, into the ocean. His throw-up was filled with blood and specks of skin from the animals he devoured.

But, instead of making him tired, throwing-up made him feel energized. His legs began to awake. Kai decided to wait there, trying to move his legs for awhile.

He was still in shock at what happened, in only a course of 5 weeks he had been tortured, nearly killed, escaped, nearly killed, and finally escaped barely. Kai had truly went through a journey just to escape.

8 Minutes Later...

He stood up, his legs had finally awoken from it's deep slumber, while he still felt slightly nauseous. Kai bent down, picking up his dagger. The sun was still high up, flowing through Kai's hair, and glowing his bright blue eyes.

He tucked the dagger into his side, the cold blade touching his thigh. But that didn't matter, he was burning up anyway. He began to feel like throwing up again.

Kai walked over to the edge and sat down, throwing up immensely.

He was sick.

There was no doubt, he was sick. But, Kai had expected this anyways, if he escaped that is. Getting sick was quiet possibly the worse thing to have ever happened. He had no help.

2 Minutes Later...

Kai left the edge, wiping his mouth with a leave. He threw that leaf over the edge, it's blood covered surface glistening a bright blue.

In fact, at every spot the sun shined at, it shined a bright blue. It was odd, although the sun is blue, so that makes sense I guess.

The animals that lived in the tree quietly scattered off of it, stammering into the forest, as Kai left the edge, walking into the forest.

He took a right, heading East. He began to slightly jog as he went along with the forest, staying on the outside. His entire body felt like it was falling down the cliff, as he almost fell forward.

Kai was practically walking on the edge, as the forest covered most of stone area. As he walked closer, he noticed something, something big.

In the distance, was mountains, high mountains. The top was a perfectly clear, beautiful snow. The mountains looked beautiful in the distance, glowing the forest a slight white color.

Kai looked is amazement, it was so beautiful. He looked down, seeing a ball of snow falling down from the top, to only brake apart at the bottom and turn into a white blanket.

Wow....

Kai could only think in his head, as he was so dehydrated it was near impossible to speak.

He continued walking, rocks flinging behind him as he jogged. His entire shirt was torn apart, only to reveal his scar filled, blood soaked chest.

His pants were turned to shorts, as they were ripped off completely, his underway slightly showing. On the other hand, his shoes were completely torn apart, small sticks poked out from the holes, and rocks filled the bottom.

His chest was ripped, his muscle pounding every step. Although, the dried blood covered his chest like a thick blanket, while his legs were a different story.

Both of his legs were burning like a hot oven. They were soaked in dried and current blood that dripped down from his stomach.

Despite this, Kai continued jogging, as he was unable to run without his stomach falling apart. He jogged for what felt like hours, only to stop and rest at a nearby tree.

The sun was beginning to set, he had been jogging for only about an hour or two. Yet, it was setting. He was running out of time, he had to get somewhere before it turned dark.

5 Minutes Later...

Kai stood up once again, and continued jogging, the sun setting at every moment. He was still running East, to the perimeter of the stone ledge. Beside him was the ocean, it's long waves stretching over millions of miles.

As he jogged, however, the trees began to come closer, as the vegetation had began to take over the stone ledge.

Quite soon though, he was now in the forest, still at the ledge. He ran far enough to where nature had taken over the stone ledge completely, forcing him to walk through the forest.

So, he walked, and walked, and walked.

2 Hours Later...

The sun was almost done setting, and night was quickly approaching. Kai was bending, holding onto his knee's. He was exhausted, his entire body ached.

He was now deep in the forest, as he had lost track of where he was. The ledge was no where to be found. Shit.

Kai looked up, the moon was rising. Shit.

He began to run once again, despite being so tired. His fatigue had caused him to run slower than usual, though.

Kai stopped.

He looked over at a tree. Sitting at the trunk of the tree was a plank of wood. It was a random plank of wood, sitting in the middle of a forest.

His eyes lit up. That must mean there's a village or people around! This is great!

Kai ran towards the direction the plank came from, as he ran passed several other long planks began to appear, some stacked on top of each other.

Hell Yea! He was getting closer..

Kai was filled with excitement, which dominated the pain he was feeling. He continued to run, until finally, he saw it.

A village...

But this village, was no ordinary village. All the houses were made of stone and wood, all run down and empty. The glass windows were shattered, glistening through the moonlight as a soft breeze flew Kai's hair back.

Ruins...

Kai was at start of the pathway that was covered in rocks, like a driveway. The pathway led to all the houses, and eventually, a fountain that resided in the middle of the village.

HISSssss.... Rustle... rustle...

Kai jumped back, diving to a bush. His eyes were wide. What he saw was awful. A giant, skinny demon just flew through one of the windows of the houses, running around the fountains.

He moved the sticks out of his way, only to see over 7 demons gathering around the fountain, smiling. Then, an 8th one appeared.

This demon was on all fours, unlike the others that were on 2 legs. Their long arms and hands were lifted up at the sky. Odd.

The 8th demon however, just looked into the sky. It began to run around the other demons, seemingly disturbing them.

One of the other demons looked down upon the 8th, small demon. It dropped it's arms and pounced at the 8th demon, gripping it's throat.

Squeeze!

The 8th demon's neck exploded, blood covering the other demons. It's dead corpse was still held in the air, it's arms and legs dangling down.

Holy shit...

The demon dropped the corpse and began licking itself off, like a cat. It's long, bright red tongue licked off all the blood, swallowing it.

Then the demon got back in position around the fountain. It was pissed, but once the 8th demon died, it smiled in satisfaction, lifting it's arms high into the air.

This village, was a village of demons...

10 Minutes Later...

Kai was frozen, not wanting to lift a finger. He had used several large leaves to cover his tracks, and to cover up the hole inside his stomach. It was the only thing keeping it in place.

...

The entire forest began to turn red, the beautiful white color that shined was gone now. Only to be covered by a dark red.

Kai looked up, the moon.. it was a dark red color. It was like... a blood moon.

The demons looked in delight as they all lifted their arms down, dispersing into their houses. 5 Minutes passed quickly, as the demons exited their homes, with humans bones in their mouths.

He opened his eyes wide, but for some reason almost not surprised. The demons then gathered once again at the fountain, placing the bones at the top.

They placed the bones perfectly in order, starting with the legs, then to the stomach, then to the chest, and finally, the head.

The cracked and odd sharped skeleton head was bent slightly at the top, staring at Kai. It's black holes in the skeleton's eyes seemed to scream in agony.

Then the demons held hands, smiling. They bent down, their backs bones breaking, making a cracking sound.

Then they feasted upon the bones, the first demon to grab the head was fat, and devoured the entire skull without hesitation. While the skinner demons got the chest, and finally, the smallest demons got the legs.

Kai was just sitting there, watching the bones get eaten. He wished he hadn't been there, wished he hadn't hid in the bush, but rather just ran the other way.

Despite this, however, he felt... odd. He wanted to go over there, to explore the village for anything, food, anything!

1 Hour later...

The red moon began to soar through the air, seemingly flying around the sky. It was becoming redder, more violent looking.

The demons had finished their meal, they all lay around the fountain, licking their nails. Then, the demons looked up, their satisfied smile turned ugly.

The tallest demon stood up, staring into the sky, looking hideous. Then the demon looked down upon the others.

That's when Kai heard it...

It spoke.

The Demon Spoke....

In it's deep, crackling voice, it spoke. "Iitttsss heerree..."

Blood spewed out from it's mouth as it spoke, then the demon proceeded to stick it's nail into it's mouth, digging out as splintered bone, throwing it to the ground.

All the demons looked serious, and got up on four legs, as the tallest demon did aswell.

"Faareeweeellll..." The demons croaked, all their voices sounding extremely deep and intimidating. They spat at each word, blood and small bits of bone spat out of their mouths.

Then they all jumped in different direction into the forest, the blood moon shining. They ran like cheetahs on all four legs, smiling.

Kai had never heard the demons voice before, it was horrifying. He held his hand to his mouth in disbelief at the sound. It was disgusting, the way it's mouth moved, as it spat.

After a minute or so Kai decided to leave the bush, and walk into the town. He was now walking on the pathway, to the middle.

He knew he would regret this decision, but if he didn't find something like food or water, he was going to die either way.

Kai was now in the middle of the village, staring down at the leftover spat out bones. Blood was splattered around the fountain, as for the fountain though...

It was shattered, broken to pieces. The whole left side was broken off, shattered on the ground. But, there was a small pool of water on the right side of the fountain. This is what he truly came here for.

The water was dirty and slight specks of blood was in it, but that didn't matter. Kai drank it down immediately, disregarding anything that would possibly hurt him in the future.

Finally, after he drank the entire small puddle of water he lifted his head, and began coughing immensely. He was still sick.

Shit.

Kai spat out puddles of his own blood, but instead of it being a red color like usual, black powder spewed out of his mouth, with a tint of glowing purple specks.

He stared disgustingly at the black powder, before walking over to one of the houses.

There were 10 houses, each different sizes and made of slightly different material. Only 2 houses used the same material though.

Those two houses were made of wood and stone, and there were no windows. Planks covered the holes in the house where the windows would've been.

Kai looked to the side, only to see a giant stone statue. He couldn't tell what it was but decided to investigate later. He entered the house.

It was empty, except for a few wooden chairs and a stove. Kai looked around, rusted utensils scattered the floor, everywhere. He looked around once more, and noticed 2 full body skeletons sitting in the back on a leather chair, one bigger skeleton and the seemingly skeleton of a child sitting on the bigger skeletons lap.

A grandpa and child? A father and child? These thoughts disgusted him, they were dead now.

Kai jumped back and exited the house immediately, looking up at the sky. The bright red moon was still flying around the sky violently, glowing a dark red.

Kai ran back down to the next house, only to stop in his tracks.

HOWLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

He looked around, something had just howled. Wait no, multiple things just howled...

HOWWLL! HOWLL!

Kai began to hear rumbling, and the sound of running around him.

Shit.

Kai ran into a house, looking around for something to hide. But the house was the same as the one before, but 2 adult sized skeletons layed on the floor, their arms reaching out to the door, seemingly trying to escape.

But this house was slightly different, on the wall, being held by a nail was a med-kit, and beside that nail was another, with a package of raw meat and an empty bottle.

Kai grabbed it, running out of the house. He ran to the statue, as the running got closer and closer. The statue was in the shape of a demon, holding out a spherical ball that was a black color, it was like the statue was giving the ball to someone.

But, Kai ignored this and ran past into a bush, as he watched a barrage of deformed demons gather around, jumping into houses and running around. It was a village of demons.

But, one demon was different...

It was as small as a child, and shaped exactly like one. It wasn't deformed or anything, it was the exact shape of a small, bald child. The small fingers dug into the dirt. It's body was pitch-black like any other demon. It's body however was twisted the wrong side, as it crawled on four legs.

But it looked like a child. A corrupted, demonic child. It was running around the village, playing.

It was sickening. This was once an innocent child.

Or atleast, that's what Kai thought. Or maybe... this was a demons child.... This thought felt like a slap in the face.

A demon child...

Holy shit..

Kai was hiding in a bush once again, at the opposite end of the other bush he hid at. He had ran past the entire village, and now was past it, on the other side.

Suddenly, all the demons exploded out of their houses, breaking down doors and scratching the planks of wood.

One jumped out of it's house so fast on all fours that it flung through the air, before landing and falling on the ground.

All the demons began scratching and jumping up into the air, bending their arms and legs in an uneven manner.

They seemed to be out of control, unable to contain their thirst and hunger any longer. They were.. corrupted.

The blood moon arose, and stopped flaring through the sky, it was now, perfectly still. But it's glow grew even harder. The perimeter of the moon was a bright red, as the middle was a pure red, like blood.

Now it stood, motionless in the sky. And the demons were crazy. They all ran around like wild animals, running around the village. That was until..

One of the demons looked at another, and bumped purposely into it. The demon that got bumped into look crazily at the other demon, and began scratching and chewing at each other.

As of seeing this, the other demons began to fight each other, pouncing each other and biting their necks, ripping the demons necks off. Some demons even began to chew on themselves, ripping themselves apart.

It was a bloody battle between the demons. It seemed as the demons had hid in the village from the blood moon, only to forcibly be controlled by it anyway.

That's when Kai realized. The child demon. That was the reason why they all went crazy. The child demon hadn't gone inside.

This was the only reason Kai could think of to of why the other demons had left the houses, possibly believing that if the child demon was safe, they were safe to go outside. Only to be horribly wrong.

They were now chewing and killing each other. Kai didn't believe his eyes. The demons began to cannibalise each other, seemingly enjoying their feast.

Kai got up, and began to run, he didn't want to see the ballistic demons eating each other, it was all horrifying.

But, he made a mistake. A mistake he will never forget until his death.

He looked back...

Staring at him like a monster, was the child demons decapitated head, getting eaten. It's black, wide, animal-like eyes staring at him. And the demon eating the child was the same demon that had eaten the Cloaked Demon, it was smiling crazily as it ate.

The entire village was covered in splattered blood. The grass was completely red from the blood spill, while dead corpses lay on the ground, either decapitated or half eaten.

Even more blood was splattered on the tree's and houses. It was a battle to the death. This village, it was like a bloody war to the death.

Kai ran away, not wanting to look back. He held his med-kit tightly to his chest, while the food and water bottle was in the other. He looked forward, wide eyed.

That child demons decapitated head, was staring at him as he ran. And the Cloaked Demons murder, the Muscular Demon was eating the child....

Holy Shit...
