A Pretty Good Bad Idea

It's at least a month and two weeks later and I haven't called Charles since... I go to his office for an appointment holding a cake as always. I see Charles standing there doing some work, then then he nurse comes in. "Ooh, is that a cake?" She asks. "Yes, blueberry delight." I Say. "I'll take that." She says taking the cake as she leaves, leaving the door open.

"Don't do that again." He says. "What, bring cake?" I ask. "No, of course not that. Not calling or texting me for a month and not telling me anything!" He says. "Well I didn't have any questions or concerns..." I say. "Oh don't go there." He says as silence hits. "So I guess we're officially forgetting what happened..." He says. "I guess we officially are..." I say. "But I don't want to..." I say as I rush and kiss him. He pulls away. "Aria, no. Not with the door open." He says closing the door then kisses me. The nurse walks in and we quickly stop like nothing ever happened. "The patient in room 201 needs you." The nurse says. "Oh, uhm, hold on." He says as she leaves. "I'll see you at your next regularly scheduled appointment." He says. I leave and rush back to the bakery.

I rush to the back hoping no one notices I'm a bit late. "Aria, were you in a rush?" Carly asks. "Oh, uh, yea. I was..." I say. "Aria, tell us the truth." Jessie Says. "That is the truth." I say. "Uh huh, your hairs all messy, your uniforms a bit messed up, and again, your lipstick is a bit messed up." Jessie Says. "Fine, I had another doctors appointment." I say. "What's wrong with that?" Carly asks. "Do you wanna tell her or should I?" Jessie Says. "Go ahead." I say. "She's been having an affair with her doctor." Jessie Says. "Like you did with Cal? Jess, I just need something to feel. Something to touch, love. I haven't felt like it in a long time." I say. "I'm sorry Aria..." Jessie Says. "I'm sorry too, now will you excuse me I'm going to stress bake." I say. "Not again." Carly Says. "Just leave Joe! Who cares about him!" Jessie Says. "So what, he can pin me to the wall and force me to not leave him? Already happened before, Jess. I don't wanna get hurt again..." I say. "What?" Jessie Says. "Aria, does he... Abuse you?" Carly asks. "I think I'm done with my shift for today." I say. "Aria, it's still early..." Jessie Says. "I'm taking a vacation." I say. I wait again for the bus to get here, then, I take the bus home.

I'm now home and I see Joe sitting down. "Joe, you really need to get another job." I say. "How about you. You never get any fuckin money out of your job." He says. "Really?! Then why do you think I work my ass off so I can get us money every day?! We're POOR Joe, I know that but face it. We don't need money as much as we used to. You CHANGED. Cause I can't find the guy I married anymore." I say. "Well maybe he's gone." He says. "Get out of my house." I say. "Come on, you can't do that!" He says. "Get the hell out. Maybe you can go on and sleep at your sisters." I say as I open the door. He leaves and I shut the door behind me. I couldn't help but cry a little. I go in bed and try to sleep but I can't. I suddenly get a notification on my phone. I pick up my phone and look at the notification and it's a text from Charles. "How are you holding up?" The text says. "Ok, I totally just didn't kick my husband out of the house." I text back. "would an appointment make the pain go away?" He texts. "When?" I ask. "How about a treat for us? Tomorrow at midnight when the hospital closes." He texts back. "Sounds good, Night <3" I text. "Night <3" He texts back. I put down my phone and sleep to the thought of Charles.
