The Halo

"Seems like you've been waiting for this date, right?" Jason said as leaned against the door frame. He looked up at her, his bright blue eyes glowing.

Kariel frowned, "don't be too rocky, I'm here because I think you might need a hand."

Jason pouted, he felt bad because he had to cancel their date. He couldn't leave his little brother alone at home.

Jason let her in. He wouldn't stop telling her about his brother condition.

Jason's brother has autism. Just like any other kid with autism, he was a little bit hard to control.

"You don't have to do this, you know." Jason said as he grabbed her arm.

"I don't do it for you..." She said coldly as she flashed a fake smile.

Kariel thought that maybe she can help them a little. She was an angel, she supposed to help human. Took care of a kid with autism shouldn't be hard, maybe.

She always thought that earth was just another version of hell. People got tortured in hell because of their sins but, people got tortured on earth because God wanted to test them.

That was a bullshit for her, why did God send illness to kids? Why did He let old people being abandoned by their kids and have to live in nursing house? Why did He let people starve to death?

Why?

Every bible from every religion always said that 'God plans is good'.

Then why? Let humanity suffered in their life was good?

She felt like being throwed out of heaven was the best thing she ever had.

"Trust me, Matt is a good kid..." Jason lead her to the living room, "just... A little bit different."

She looked up to him, "different is not even a word for me"

Jason's house was so messy. She saw a lot of toys scattered everywhere. She could find it in every corner.

"Sorry, I tried to clean this up before you come but... Yeah." he chuckled awkwardly.

She nodded. She saw his little brother was sitting in the corner of the room with his toys around him.

There was something different with that kid.

"Leah? Hey..."

"Hey... You're okay, Leah?"

She ignored him. She found something that much more important than answering his question. He walked toward the kid, to make sure that what she saw was real.

"Is... that a halo?" She murmured to herself.

"You say something?"

She looked up to Jason quickly "huh? No, I didn't say anything" she said.

She couldn't let Jason know that his little brother had a halo on top of his head. That wasn't something that human want to hear.

Suddenly, a plastic toy flew and before she could dogde, it hit her right in the face. Jason reached out to his brother huriedly. He asked his brother to apologize, but his brother just laughed and said things that she couldn't understand.

"I'm sorry." Jason said with a guilty expression on his face.

She nodded a little, she kneeled down in front of them. She couldn't say anything. She confused.

"You... you're okay?" Jason asked.

She shook her head slowly, "Yeah... I'm good"

"Look, I'm... I'm uh... kinda need to meet my brother, it's emergency" She stammered.

She patted Matt's head before she stood up. "I'll be back in an hour, I promise"

She left them in hurry to the front door, Jason followed her.

"Is it because of Matt?" he asked.

"No, I said it's emergency." She said as she shook her head "I'll be back soon."

"Maybe he's a nephilim." Zarakiel said. He crossed his arms on his chest.

"No, I'm sure he's not!" She puffed her cigar. "I know how nephilim looks like"

Zarakiel shrugged, "or maybe he ever touched by an angel"

She leaned back in her chair then sighed. Talked with Zarakiel wasn't help, He confused her more.

"there is no one has ever been touched by an angel and got halo after that!" She rolled her eyes "c'mon! help me here! think harder!"

"You tell me, Kariel" Zarakiel said as he pulled a cigar from it box, "You're the great Kariel, you supposed to know everything"

"I'm a seraphim, not God"

They were sitting in a coffee shop near Jason's house. She knew something was wrong, so she called Zarakiel as soon as she can.

"Why is it bother you so much?"

"God stopped making angels after the creation, so tell me how can I saw a 7 years old kid with a halo on his head today?! It bothers me because I'm the one who saw it!"

Zarakiel shrugged again. He put cigar between his lips, "is that even matter?"

"Gabriel told me that God already planned something for me, that's why it's freaked me out!"

"You're just paranoid, sis..."

She growled, "I'm not! how could you be so calm?! Help me a little!"

"Okay, take a deep breath, and calm down..." He said, "I'm gonna ask Lauriel, she was heaven librarian before she fell, maybe she ever heard something like this."

"Great, thanks" She sighed again "now I should go back, before Jason think I don't like his brother"

"you like him, don't you?"

"I don't" She said as she stood up, "I'm in love with humanity, but not personaly"
