The Devil's Lap

Rahul, now bearing an alias of the Quantum King, and becoming friends with both Dark Flame and Crystal was still learning to manifest his powers. One of his powers was to manipulate the surrounding to benefit him and his allies, which means that he could control his surroundings. Boulder is now in the stronghold of the army. Dark Flame now works with the fire department and Crystal, now is in Afghanistan seeking a place called "The Devil's Lap". The Devil's Lap was situated in a valley in Himalayan Ranges near Hindu Kush, but to get there was the trickiest part of the job.

Meanwhile Rahul started to feel like there is no use of the Quantum King as the city is safe. He carried on his normal life. Jane who now lives with Rahul by this time started feeling attracted towards him, which they both were ignorant of.

One fine day, Jane asked Rahul that if there is something going to happen in the future, how would he manage his normal and heroic life.

Rahul was not sure what to say because he too hadn't thought of this any before. He then asked for some advices, on which Jane replied maybe you should have some base of operations. Rahul was thinking how they could do that. Jane reminded him of an old archaeological site that was not very far from their house.

Meanwhile in Afghanistan, Maya was trying to find The Devil's Lap. She hired a local guide to discover the place but all she got was nothing. She tried almost everywhere but couldn't find the place. One day while perimetering the area and scanning for any clues, she was attacked by a gang of local bandits. Although having powers she was outnumbered by them. All of a sudden two arrows came straight flying and shot two bandits in front of her. Maya was astonished to see that and again another arrow hit the last bandit, who was about to hurt Maya. Maya now turned back to see a black hooded figure. Suddenly the figure started walking towards Maya then all of a sudden three arrows from another direction hit the hooded guy.

Maya was astonished to see a tall and beautiful girl on the cliff in front of her. Soon the mysterious girl turned away to go back, then Maya asked for an explanation for what just happened. The mysterious girl stopped and said those men who attacked her were part of a local Triad called "The Golden Path", and that guy whom she thought of saving her life was a mercenary hired by an anarchist called "The hunter", she introduced herself as Nyssa. She said that, she belongs to The Devil's Lap and warned Maya not to follow her.

On hearing this Maya was so happy that at last she was able to reach The Devil's Lap, despite of Nyssa's warning she began following her. After few hours Nyssa got suspicious of Maya following her so, she ducked into a bush nearby. Maya unaware of this kept on walking ahead. After few minutes she was near a bush and suddenly rustling sound started to come from it. Within few seconds a black bear was pouncing on Maya and in the meantime, Nyssa came swinging to hit the bear. She drew her sword and started to fight the beast just to protect Maya who got hurt in the process. Soon Nyssa killed the animal.

On the sight of injured Maya, Nyssa rushed towards her. Maya's leg was cut and it was bleeding. Nyssa teared out a piece from her dress and wrapped around Maya's wound and took Maya to her home. There Maya was treated and she was cared personally by Nyssa herself. During her healing period in The Devil's Lap, Maya and Nyssa became good friends. Maya explained Nyssa, that she was in search of this place for a long time. Nyssa asked why she was looking for her home so badly. Then Maya explained that she has powers to Nyssa and she came here to seek training. Nyssa was speechless for a minute and then she spoke. She said for the time Maya stays there every need of Maya's would be fulfilled by her only, so she could make arrangements for Maya to train with her.

Meanwhile here Rahul decided to follow Jane's advice and with his father's help, he bought the site and started to renovate the place. He installed many computers, display screens, etc. Along with that he used many gadgets and techs. Even he salvaged some items from Jane's craft. He felt that if Abhimanyu and Maya are going to operate as superheroes, they have to disguise themselves which means they will need new suits.

Meanwhile in Afghanistan, Maya continued to train with Nyssa. They both came closer than before. One day on a hunting session Nyssa was being attacked by a bear who knocked her unconscious. Maya found her lying unconscious and swiftly she carried her to a cave which she found. She kept Nyssa on a bed prepared by her and then she lit the fire. Nyssa woke up two hours later and was more than glad to see Maya safe and hugged her tightly. They began talking about their earlier lives. In the process Nyssa opened up her heart to Maya, which Maya was surprised to see. Nyssa said Maya that before she ran into her she always thought that she was invincible, no-one could hurt her, but after spending so much time with her she thinks that for all those years she was missing something, and now she had met her that feeling of something missing has gone. Nyssa explained, she thinks that she has fell in love with Maya. Maya wasn't even surprised to hear that because she too had same kind of feelings. All she did was pulling Nyssa close and kissing her on the lips. After a short kiss they pulled apart for a breather and again Nyssa pulled Maya close and kissing her deeply.
