The sound of running drones rhythmically as Jez goes down a street through the middle layer, he had already scaled the wall to the outer layer, it had barely any security at all and proved to be easy to scale. The middle layer had higher security as well as enforced a curfew on most areas, and was patrolled by guards. As he ran through he only stopped when guards told him to, where he would then give the same story about how he had been out in the middle layer to see the city and had gotten lost and was looking for a way back into the core of the city. This had allowed him to get to the walls to the inner city and the same trick worked there to get him back to the core. As he reached the academy his pace slowed until it was a walk to get back without drawing attention he got all the way back to his dorm and to his room before closing it quietly and laying in bed staring at the ceiling with an unending feeling of dread. He had fully lost control, and it had almost cost the lives of people, although they were morally questionable, that wasn't the point. The point was that he had almost murdered six people, that he had come so close to taking someone's life. If he had not reigned the urge to kill in, there wouldn't be anything left of those thieves to identify their bodies. It was like he had become a different person, he had started to think about how many people those thieves had robbed, how many lives they had ruined, and he kept growing angrier and angrier. But he had never intended to walk towards them, not to release chaos into his armor, a trick he had only practiced on a small scale, that was the intent and actions of something foreign, something dark. Some part of him that had unbelievable control over the power of chaos, it was hidden deep in him, but now he drew aware of it. It was an entity that somewhat resembled Jake, but the opposite of him, where Jake is calm and logical, this entity was livid and primal. It had lied dormant for the longest of time, first waking up in Jez's first trip through the outer layer and had been building strength. It seemed tied to the power of chaos, similar to how Jake was tied to his mana, The entity had the ability to manipulate the energy of chaos better than he could. This entire situation puzzled Jez and he consulted Jake about it, "You sense him Right?" Jez asked cautiously to the voice in his head. "Of course I do, it seems to be me, or at least a part of me." Jake pondered, it seems to be undergoing the same steps I did when I first became lucid." when Jez heard this he became puzzled, "when did you have so much influence over how I thought?" asked Jez. "My steps to being lucid was as fast as yours, I never got the chance to influence you, the entity hiding in you, on the other hand, is premature and not yet lucid. It can only affect and suggest what it knows, urges and emotion. These simple signals are not usually picked up by the brain and end up affecting your mind and the outburst earlier was probably just the culmination of it." Jake explained. Jez followed this with his own statement with "I started absorbing mana as soon as I was born but it wasn't until the aptitude test until I started to learn chaos, which is why it has taken so long for it to develop. That means that the more proficient I become with the chaos I become, the more powerful it becomes.". "Mostly correct but off on one part, at a certain point, the entity becomes lucid and is no longer capable of influencing your thought. This means that we could try to push your understanding to chaos to this point rapidly in hopes of reaching that point sooner but to do that we should make sure you are in an environment that is more conducive to strengthening your ties to chaos and is less likely to distract you." Jake said before adding "You also should probably avoid using chaos till it awakens". Jez got ready for sleep, thinking about what he was told. He would have to set aside chaos until he had enough time to regain control over it, not to mention daily lectures and course material starts soon, delaying him even more. He decided it was time to start putting his school work first and set other things aside for later.
