In the worst possible ways

Becky sat down at my table during lunch.

"I'm sorry; is it taken?" Becky asks me.

"No. It's fine. Please sit." I reply.

"Thanks." Becky says.

I nod my head.

"I don't know what people are-" Becky starts.

"You have to rely on your area. It's the cafeteria. No one cares." I say.

Lee-Lena walks up to my table.

"Hi October." Lee-Lena says.

"I'm busy." I reply.

"Not much really." Lee-Lena answers.

"Hello I'm-" Becky starts.

"Becky the leader who takes people's' boyfriends." Lee-Lena says.

"October is my one and only." Becky states.

"Well that's what someone says when you date someone's sloppy seconds," Lee-Lena says.

"That's disgusting! We're eating here." I yell.

"October, you had better with us and you choose someone with down syndrome." Lee-Lena states.

Lee-Lena walks away.

"I'm sorry about that. She's-" I started.

"She's right." Becky says.

"Wait. What?" I ask.

"My down syndrome can affect everyone I love and even you. I can't be seen with you." Becky replied starting to tear up.

Becky rushes away sobbing.

Thanks a lot Lee-Lena. Thanks for putting Becky in her misery.
