Hospital

Sighing Eira massaged her temples. Getting thirsty she went to the small cabinet beside her desk and took out a cup and a bottle of water. Her workload was getting more and more and she had no one else to go to and just whine. She gulped the whole bottle down leaving the cup at the side. She was about to turn around when her vision began to blur and she lost her focus.

"This doesn´t work. I should go home." Eira murmured. She grabbed the edge of the table and held herself up. Slowly she closed her computer and took her bag. Slowly she went out and down to the parking lot to her car. But before she even left the elevator she became dizzy again. So she decided to walk out of the parking lot and sit down at a nearby park until her dizziness got better.

She staggered around and slowly went along the wall out. The fresh air flowed past her but didn´t make her feel better.

What would normally take her a few minutes to reach the park was now taking her half an hour. She tried to avoid the people walking past her but that was harder said than done in her situation. She once again lost her focus and stumbled to the ground.

"Hey, are you okay?" A female voice spoke to her worried. The woman grabbed her arm to help her stand up.

"Miss Morgan. Are you okay?" The voice talked to her again.

"Mhm, I am fine. Thank you." Eira answered automatically without noticing who was standing before her.

"You are not okay? We should get you to the hospital." The woman said.

"No, I am fine. I just need some rest." Eira said and tried to stand on her own but she got dizzy again and leaned slightly to the woman.

"You clearly are not. Come with me. My car is over there. I bring you to the hospital. They decide if you are okay or not." The woman said. With all her force she pulled Eira with her and opened the door of her car to let her sit down. She then walked to the driver´s seat and started the car.

The sudden movement of the car made Eira dizzier. She laid down and closed her eyes.

"Are you okay? We are almost there." The woman said to her but Eira didn´t hear her anymore. She blacked out.

When Eira woke up again she was in a hospital bed. An IV drip was connected to her left arm. Around her people were bustling around. Her bed had two curtains at her left and right said to act as a partition. Someone went to her bedside and looked at her.

"Miss Morgan? How are you feeling?" A very familiar voice called out to her. Eira focused her gaze on the person in front of her and soon her vision became clearer.

"Oh, Fabiola it´s you." Fabiola smiled at Eira finally recognizing her.

"Do you remember? I found you earlier outside and brought you here to the hospital." She explained.

"Yeah... I remember part of it. How long was I out of it?" Eira asked her while sitting up. Fabiola immediately went to her to help her.

"Not that long. You passed out in my car and I called some medics to carry you inside. Since then it was probably an hour ago. The doctor already checked you and said that you had overworked yourself and you seem to struggle a lot. You also seemed to have a lack of sleep so it just all came down at once and made you dizzy and pass out. You should stay here for a while before you can go home." Fabiola explained.

"Okay, I got it. When exactly can I leave?" Eira asked.

"Uh, the doctor said if everything is alright you can leave tomorrow," Fabiola said hesitantly. "But you should still rest after leaving the hospital. You have overworked yourself."

"I got it. Thank you for your help." Eira thanked her.

"There is one more thing," Fabiola added.

Eira looked at her questioning encouraging her to continue speaking.

"When you were passed out your phone rang so I took it and answered the call. I am sorry. I shouldn´t have done that." Fabiola dropped her head.

"It´s fine. Who called?" Eira asked nervously. It´s her business phone after all. It could be someone important.

"It was George Henning. He called you and I told him that you were here in the hospital. So he is on his way here." Fabiola carefully looked at Eira´s expression.

"Ah ok. He doesn´t have to." Sudden tiredness went over Eira. She yawned and stretched her arms.

"You should sleep. Get some rest. When Mr. Henning is here, I´ll talk to him for you." Fabiola said with concern in her voice.

"Thank you. Then I will go to sleep. You should also go home soon. It´s so late already." Eira said while lying down again.

"Don´t need to worry about me. Get better first." Fabiola smiled and help her cover her with the bedsheet.

Eira went to a deep sleep while Fabiola said beside her watching her. Hurried steps were heard and George went around the corner and stopped in front of Eira´s bed. He processed the whole scene before him then noticing Fabiola.

"What happened? Is she okay?" He asked still panting heavily.

"She is fine," Fabiola answered and stood up. "She just overworked herself. Thank you for coming." She smiled at him.

George didn´t say much and just looked at Eira.

"She is asleep now so we shouldn´t wake her up. Why don´t we go outside and talk?" Fabiola suggested. George nodded and turned around to walk out of the room with Fabiola following him.

"Did the doctor say anything else? How did you find her?" George asked Fabiola when they were sitting outside of the hospital.

"She simply didn´t get much sleep and with a lot of stress she just got dizzy and blanked out. That´s it. I found her when she was walking around on the street so I took her here." Fabiola told him.

"Thank god it´s nothing serious."

"Mr. Henning... can I call you George?" Fabiola carefully asked him.

He looked at her surprised.

"Uh... yeah sure."

"Great." Fabiola beamed in joy. "So George, how is work going?"

"Good."

"I´ve heard you are working on a new product right now. How is it going?" She asked further.

"Good."

"Why did you call her earlier?"

"I had something to ask her. Didn´t expect to hear you answering her phone."

"I saw your number and thought it´s okay to answer your call." She tried to explain.

"Mhm."

"Are you going to stay here tonight?" Fabiola continued to ask him.

"Probably. She needs someone to stay there."

"I´ll stay here. Don´t worry." Fabiola hurriedly said.

"No, it´s okay. You should get some sleep. You don´t look so good either. You did enough. I can take it from here." George rejected her suggestion.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

Fabiola hesitated. "Then... then I will go home and come back tomorrow I guess?"

"Yeah do that." George nodded.

"Okay. See you tomorrow then." With a look on her watch, she grinned. "I mean, see you later. It´s already 1 am."

"Yeah see you." George nodded her and stood up to see her off.

Fabiola walked to her and turned back again.

"I´ll leave her to you. I´ll come to visit her again." She waved and drove off.
