Going home

George walked back to the emergency room where Eira was sleeping. He sat down beside her and looked at her.

"What are you doing, working yourself till you faint." He whispered.

Thinking deeply he also slowly dozed off into dreamland.

When Eira woke up again it was already morning and the hospital was bustling with nurses running around. Occasionally a doctor walking by to visit a patient. She looked around. Her IV drip was still attached to her arm but the bag with the fluid was empty. She tried to sit up but something heavy was lying on top of her. She looked down and saw brown ruffled hair.

Carefully she pushed the head down her legs to slowly sit up. Inching forward she peeked at the face that was turned away from her. The head belonged to George. He was sitting on a chair beside her and must have fallen asleep... on top of her.

Slowly her hand stroked his fluffy hair. Giggling she continued to pat his head lightly.

"Stop messing up my hair." George´s groggy voice stopped her motion.

"You´re awake," Eira stated the obvious. George sat up again while groaning lightly.

"When did you come? Did you stay here the whole night?" Eira asked him.

He cleared his throat before asking.

"I came here when you were already asleep. So I decided to stay here and let Fabiola go home rest."

"Guys, I am not ill. I don´t need anyone to stay by my side. I am fine." To prove her point she wiggled around.

"Yeah sure." George looked at her not really believing her.

"It´s true. I´ve got plenty of rest now I am all fine." Eira assured him.

"How am I supposed to believe you that after knowing that you collapsed from overwork." George looked at her judgingly.

She dropped her head.

"I know it´s not something I should have done. Just fainting on the streets. As a CEO I should always keep my strong reputation." Ashamed she became quiet.

"You fool. Who cares about your reputation. It´s about your health. As a CEO it´s your top priority to always be healthy. A lot of people depend on you." George reprimanded her.

"Yeah, I know. I am sorry. I disappointed you." Eira quietly whispered.

George sighed and stretched his hand out to ruffle her hair.

"Be more careful. Don´t overwork yourself. I can help you if you want. Don´t do everything on your own." He softly said.

Eira nodded in response.

"I´ll go to the company now. I have a meeting with the manager. Next week we will have a test round at the BAZOO. I´ll give the report Helen. You should stay at home and rest." He informed her and stood up.

"Got it. Then hurry go to work. I am depending on you too. This has to work."

"It will work. Promise." George smiled lightly.

Eira waited until he was away and then grabbed her phone at the bedside table. Quickly she dialed a number.

When she heard that the one on the other side picked up the call she didn´t wait and immediately spoke, "I am at the hospital right now. It´s nothing serious. I should only get some rest. So send me everything I need right to my house. I will work from there."

"Miss Morgan, are you sure? I can handle all the work. Just stay at home and rest."

"No, it´s fine. I am all better now. Just send me everything. And if someone wants to speak to me just tell them I am away for a short business trip." Eira instructed.

"Alright. I will do as you said." Helen sighed in the defeat of her stubbornness. "By the way, Liam asked if it´s alright if he puts his own computer inside his office."

"He can do whatever he likes in his office. Just don´t let him rebuild the whole place."

"Alright, I´ll tell him that." Helen chuckled.

"See you later then." Eira ended the call.

She rang one of the nurses and asked them if she can discharge already.

They called the doctor and after a quick examination and a few instructions, she was allowed to go. She gathered her stuff and left the hospital.

In the middle of her way, she stopped abruptly.

Her car was still in the parking lot at her company. So she has to get a taxi back to Morgan Noodles.

When she arrived she went up to her office. Helen looked at her in surprise.

"I thought you are at home."

"I can´t without my car. Do you have everything ready? I will take it with me then."

Helen quickly walked around her table.

"Of course. Here, and I also got you some soup. I hope you will get better soon."

"I am not ill. I am just a bit tired. No need to worry about me." Eira still smiled at the nice gesture.

"Don´t worry I got this. Just go home. Go." Helen softly pushed her to the elevator.

"Alright, alright. I´ll go now. You should also go home soon today." She laughed while being pushed to the elevator.

"Yeah, I will. Because my husband is waiting for me. Now go." Helen huffed and pushed the elevator button.

"Don´t try to make me jealous. That doesn´t work."

"I am not trying. It´s a kind reminder that you should also look for someone. It´s not good to stay all alone."

"Okay. Have a nice workday. I´ll go now." Eira smiled at her gratefully and walked inside the elevator.

With the documents in her hand, she walked down to the parking lot and opened her car.

Her stomach rumbled loudly in protest.

"I should get something to eat. Maybe cook something?" Eira thought to herself while starting her car. Still thinking about what ingredients she has left in her fridge she quickly drove home.
