The Ark Of Generations

"Not exactly. You are considered to be the Fourth Generation. The First is Pure Ones, beings like Mavislin and Baldwin. The Second is Rina, those Mages that were born from the Pure Ones but were raised by humans. Secret Ones."

"Does that truly play a part?" asked Rina, pouting.

"Yes. The Third is like Z and I, having a human appearance but constantly using Magecraft with each generation of the family tree. Humanoid Ones. And that makes you, Verna, the Fourth Generation. Awakened Ones."

"Where your family's Magecraft laid dormant for a while and sprung out when you were born. There's not much known yet, since there are only a few reports that were revealed. But it could be one of the most dangerous ones since you can create your Element," explained Raiyen.

"Create your Element? What do you mean?" asked Bryan, with raised eyebrows.

"For Mages that have been born with an Element, we lack the skill to create new ones. But those power hidden in their bloodline but have biological parents with no Magecraft has the skill to create a new Element. Some cases were forced while others were inspired."

"I guess you can say mine was forced since I was being guided by my ancestor..."

Bryan fell silent and halted in his tracks, stopping right before the front doors. Baldwin bumped right into him.

"Oi! What's the holdup?" asked Baldwin, rubbing his sore nose.

"I just remembered what I need to do. Is Z back from his mission?" asked Bryan, opening the front door.

"Yes, what do you need from me?" asked Z, at the dining table.

He was digging into a softshell crab while Mavislin was busy devouring a whole chicken. Clement freaked out as he turned back to the dining table, nearly dropping the pot of beef goulash. Luckily, he was in a room full of Mages and Mavislin used her Wind Element to move it to the table.

"That chicken was meant to share!" yelled Clement, upset at the Valkyrie.

"But I want chicken!" argued Mavislin.

"You have to share!" yelled Clement, once more.

Rina laughed at the teary-eyed Valkyrie and placed Kai on the high chair, next to Mavislin. She then sat beside Kai and Raiyen sat on the other side of Mavislin. He ruffled her hair and she offered a drumstick to the Time Boy. Kai grasped onto her wrist and giggled, earning him breast meat.

Rina happily took some sauteed spinach and Clement placed a plate of white rice and lady's fingers in front of her. She also helped Kai to cut up the breast meat, despite Mavislin's insisting that Kai should just eat the whole thing as a single piece.

"He might choke, so I should cut it up for him," reasoned Rina.

Tomoe sat by Raiyen and took some oysters. He smiled to himself as he saw Mavislin happily sharing food with Kai.

"Don't worry, she will share with the rest. And we know better than to steal her food. Or else, we BECOME the food. And death by a hungry Valkyrie isn't a very fun thing to be known for," reasoned Gillian, taking his place at the table.

Ysabeau did as well and took a bit of the beef goulash while Gillian helped himself to the platter of seafood on the table, starting with a lobster. Bryan was hesitant to start, leaving his plate as empty as his stomach. Clement was starting to get worried as Bryan did not take anything.

"What's wrong? You don't like seafood?" asked Raiyen, concerned.

"No, it's just that I need to ask Z for more details about my powers..." whispered Bryan.

"Well, I'm right here. I'm not gonna hurt you or anything so what is it you want to know about your powers?" asked Z.

"But first, grab something to put on your plate. I can't stand Clement looking so defeated," said Baldwin, digging into some oysters.

Bryan reached out to grab some goulash and a lobster. He then looked at Z and asked what he needed.

"I want to know how I can get rid of these powers. I don't want to use the Element of Constellations anymore," blurted Bryan.

There was pin-drop silence as those words rang through the air. Z's mouth was agape while everyone stared wide-eyed at him. Everyone but Kai of course, as the child was still giggling and stuffing food into his mouth. Even Gillian was caught off guard by Bryan's request.

"Not using your Element is one thing, but getting rid of it entirely is a whole new experiment. Are you sure about that?" asked Z, finally breaking the silence.

"Yeah, your Element is fantastic as a well-ranged Element. And you created it yourself. Unless you hand it down to your offspring, no one else in the Universe has your power," added Ysabeau.
