"I can't believe Lancelot would be forced into doing something so drastic and against his beliefs... Anyone would surely have gone mad at such a state. Imagine getting a second chance in life to relieve an endless nightmare of not controlling your limbs or mind."
"It shows how painful it must've been to be trapped in a body that constantly suicides to get the landing blow on the enemy," said Rina, as she felt pity for the Knight.
"The worst part about it is that the guy tried to come back to the Round Table after getting exiled to fight in the final battle. But, unfortunately, Gawain was the one who didn't allow Lancelot to help, and I struck the Knight of the Sun down before setting my sights on the King," replied Mordred.
"I'm more impressed about the two of you working together... From the time I've been here, I have never seen any of the training Mages tag team in such a good pattern to take down a common enemy. And from my Familiars, they saw harmony like a choir singing in a church."
"Do you know how refreshing it is to see two Mages working together instead of competing? It's always annoying to break up fights with the newer members because they are rushing to prove who is the most powerful or has the best spell... The challenge was to work together!"
"Not kill each other! It's a training lesson to show you work in a group, not survive in a battle royale scenario! Sorry... I didn't mean to yell, but I was trying to get that problem off my back..." apologized the Headmaster as he released pent-up steam from the past few days.
"Well, we are siblings... With the bonus that we are twins. We were together in the womb, and we'll fight together to the tomb."
"Although I feel that Mordred can be too aggressive, and Midori usually lets her emotions get in the way of the fights," commented the Ankou, looking away from the Knight.
"Hey! At least I did the job! Besides, we would have been long dead if it hadn't been for my aggressiveness! I wasn't going to allow my Master to die! I was the one who bought time by making Lancelot my ragdoll so you can do your incantations..."
"Which, by the way, is ridiculously long because, by the time you're ready to unleash the spell, I've killed Lancelot more than ten times... " protested the Knight, pointing at the shrugging Ankou.
"You've proven my point of being too reliant on brute force to do the job. And I can't help it; we are two different beings. I need incantations because I'm pulling out powers from legends about death and the Underworld throughout history. I am not a real person, as I've said before."
"Thus, I am like a medium, providing the link between the legends and the present realm. Those chants are summoning rituals to borrow the power of worlds beyond or tales of old. For you, Rebellious Knight of the Round Table is a person recorded in history."
"You do not need too many words to activate your power because you are the legend itself—the power of rebellion against your beautiful father. A life of happiness turned into resentment as the King refused to relinquish the throne to you... But I'm getting sidetracked," answered the Ankou.
"Hmph... That little boy in you isn't any better. I saw how dangerous he could be when he got angry. Using that much power for some small attacks isn't faze dangerous enemies. I've got a Skill that allows me to go nuts for attacks, but Duncan doesn't, so be cautious."
"I'm well-aware about Duncan's rage during that time, but I'm confident that he won't overdo things because he cares for himself more than me," replied the Ankou, smiling evilly at Mordred.
"Despite your hostility during the fights, I loved how Midori chose to save her brother despite knowing she might get hit... Although, I agree with Mordred about finding a different method of saving others instead of using your life."
"The two of you are genuinely the best tag team I've ever seen, so keep it up, " praised Rina with a bright smile.
The two Spirits felt their children stir within their sleep as Rina commented on the twins.
"Midori says that she is happy, and she might share some of her desserts if we are having dinner later," said Mordred, grinning at the Flower Mage.
"Duncan said thanks and asks if you are willing to get him some more pastries... After we defeat the King," requested the Ankou.
Rina smiled as she nodded. The Headmaster smiled before standing up to stretch his back. After clearing his throat, Gillian wanted to keep the meeting going.
