Chapter 14

Melody stared at the notification, slightly surprised. The chat had been slightly quiet for a while. She hadn't been in the chat long, but this notification seemed different. Instead of the typical notification, it had a slight red alert next to it.

Melody stopped and stood to the side. She opened up her phone and immediately figured out why this message was so important for her.

TP: Melody, Voila, I have found your first mission.

Melody kept her eyes to the screen, watching the immortal type. Her phone buzzed again, and the application showed that she had another notification.

TP: Since you've reached the academy, I'd like you to find an object for me inside. Take as long as you like, but obviously its best if I can have it soon. The object should be a stone called the Yersot Stone, named after Yersot the magician. We're not sure what it looks like right now, but it's definetley inside the school.

MangoMilkTea: Hey!!! Isn't finding the Yersot a bit cruel though???

TP: We have to have some sort of test right?

MangoMilkTea: We selected her specifically out of millions of people, she's the only person.

TP: Fine, but we know that the Yersot stone, if she fines it and even touches it for a minute will benefit her a lot.

MangoMilkTea: Fine.

Melody began typing.

[What's so bad about the Yersot stone?]

She was slightly confused.

MangoMilkTea: It's actually owned by this guy called Yersot in our group. A couple hundred years ago, he cast some protection spells on it that he forgot how to dispell, and it just so coincidentally is in the school that you'll be going to soon. Yes, we know about your new school.

MangoMilkTea: Anywayys, if you need any help, we can try provide what info we can.

A lost stone. How hard could it be to find? But she was slightly worried about the protection spells that were cast. Would she be hurt possibly? Melody simply hoped that she'd be strong enough, but then she reminded herself that these were spells cast by literally an immortal, so they probably were like the final boss that everybody screwed up on.

Her phone buzzed again.

TP: Either way, just keep an eye out. No pressure.

Melody stood up again and continued her way home. She had been sitting by the side of the pavement for a while, typing on her phone so some people looked at her weirdly as they walked past.

She made her way home and sighed as she decided to chill on her sofa. She relaxed and closed her eyes. Somehow, she fell asleep.

In her dreams, she found herself floating in some area. She looked around and saw light pastel colours surrounding her. It made her feel sort of light and fluffy. When she looked down, she quickly realised that she was floating about her house.

She attempted to fly down with no result. Then, she let herself relax and take deep breaths. Melody found her feet touching the ground softly. She walked towards her own house, and the moment she stepped inside, she saw a girl lying on the sofa.

It was her? What was this place?

'Astral Vision'

She heard a voice sound from somewhere. Either way, it answered her question. Astral vision, from what she knew meant that she was floating in her spiritual state. She noticed that time also felt slightly different. It wasn't extremely slow, but at least four or five times slower than in real life.
