Chapter 68: Light and Darkness(1)

Staring at the direction of the stairs that lead to the lower floors, Zero could only frown and let the strands of sweat roll down his forehead. Even though there were a few more menacing aura coming from that direction, only that one was enough to spook Zero.

"He must be at least A rated!" Zero said to Shi Jia making the youth's facial expression crumble as well.

Quickly, Zero led Shi Jia to the closest elevator they could find on the floor. The corridor wasn't too a bit wide so they could easily blend into the crowd preventing the enemy from spotting them.

Upon arrival, Zero's eyes let out a purple light as his muscles began bulging and his breathing became somewhat a bit haggard. Seeing this, Shi Jia could tell Zero was utilizing the reinforcement special ability to strengthen himself but it was obviously taking a toll on his body since he was yet to recover fully.

Bam!

Bam!

Gripping the metal door, he slowly and carefully began pushing them apart. With Zero's physical capabilities thanks to the reinforcement special ability, he could easily yank the metal doors open with little effort. But he did this slowly to minimize the noise, even though those around them were loud, anyone with good hearing amongst the enemies will definitely spot them.

It didn't take long before Zero could open the doors just well enough for he and Shi Jia to slip in. After Shi Jia moved in first, Zero slowly made his way into the elevator, and only when he was halfway did he see what they were up against.

At that point, five people dressed in black tight-fitting clothes and black masks appeared. They carried no guns or grenades like normal terrorists should, instead they only had weapons associated with martial arts on them, giving away their identity instantly.

[The assassins are not actual assassins but martial arts practitioners… I know the god sect will try to kill us in any way possible but I don't think they will send even more martial arts practitioners since two already failed… They have hundreds of sovereign federation guardians affiliated to them so this just doesn't make sense] Zero thought. Unknown to him, his brief pause was enough for the man with the monstrous aura to get a glance at him, instantly realizing Zero was one of the targets.

As soon as the explosion shook the building the man in white and the lady in black took a glance at each other and got on their feet. Turning towards the door leading out of the security room, they saw an elderly man in his late seventies or early eighties. Around this man's neck were red beads and even across his wrists and ankles. The man was bald with a hunched back, barely up to five feet tall and his eyes lacked all forms of color, just plain white and his wrinkled skin coupled with his monk-like attire made him even less attractive.

But even then, the old man's presence was enough to make the man in white and lady in black shiver in fear. No matter how much they tried to accept what was going on is real, they just found it hard to accept it.

"Master Chou of the divine fist dojo… It's an honor to meet such a famous character in such an odd hour" The man in white quickly brushed off his nervousness and acted natural. Greeting the man while bowing down slightly as a sign of respect.

Unlike the man in white, the lady in black was yet to recover from the shock, taking even two more steps back when the old man revealed a bone-chilling smile.

"At least someone here has some manners… it's nice when a youth recognizes an elder properly… as for my reason for the strange visit… I will just have to ask you all to stay here…. If you do this for this old man… no one has to get hurt" Master Chou said this with a smile that made these shiver unconsciously.

Even though he lacked pupils, everyone could tell he was staring at the lady, forcing her to instinctively move behind the man in white due to fear.

"Don't worry dear… I will be your light" The man said softly to his scared lover.

"And I will be your shadow!" The lady responded.
