The Libaray was a five story building, it had an ancient design. The walls were carved with flowers. Meeting it you would pass two wooden statues of Lions. They were carved with precision and were life like. The lion stayed stood on a bed of Soulshades.
Leon walked up the stairs to the open door of the Library and wanted with the two.
The inside of library was beautiful as only few rays of sunlight made it in through the leaves covering the Windows. The wooden shelves were placed orderly through the Library.
The main source of light through the Library was bell shaped flowers. Other then a chandelier made of them from the roof each shelf had one hanging a flower. The flowers gave out a soft or orange light from a blue flower.
Leon walked to the wooden stairs leading to the next floor. Just as he was about to walk up a man stopped him.
"Sir, only people with the VIP Pass and members of the Blueshade clan are allowed to the higher floors. I'll need some identification to let you through." The man said blocking Leon's path. From Leon's clothes and looks he could tell he wasn't from around here. He however still acted respectfully and asked rather then just send him away.
"I don't fulfill any of those conditions-"
"Well then I'll have to ask you to stay on the first floor Sir." The man said cutting Leon off.
Leon didn't bother and continued, "but I do have this which should allow me access." Leon took out the competition token he had gotten from Oren.
The man looked at the token and saw the seal of the Monarch of Nature. The token was mainly for identifying the participants of the competition but he could also act as a VIP Pass for most places. This was an agreement made between the three continents. Participants from other continents would be treated as VIP guess in all public places.
The man moved out of the way and let Leon pass, "This will indeed allow you to enter."
Leon went up. Alice and Eros followed him to the second floor. Giving a VIP Pass to participants wasn't to big of a deal remembering that most of the participants were form big clans and had the support of the Council of Fire. Although it was giving the opponents an opportunity to grow, they had received the same treatment in past years it evened out.
Eros was happy to see what he thought was right. He however didn't know how Leon entered. He had showed some mysterious token and was a allowed to enter.
Leon roamed the second floor but didn't find an interesting book. He quickly made it to the tenth floor. The tenth floor was the top floor and held the rarest books in the library.
"Eros you should also find a book and read. Theie are many interesting books here you shouldn't let this opportunity to waste."
Leon then picked out a book from the shelf. It was about high level beast's evolution. Ariel also started looking around. Eros looked at her and followed.
Ariel picked up two books, one was on the languages on the continent and the other was the history of the continent. Both books as thick as her arm. Eros was intimidated and didn't know what to do. He wanted to impress Ariel but he didn't know how.
Eros kept on looking. He finally found a beast encyclopedia. It was one of the more detailed beast encyclopedias as it was on the top floor. He carried the book twice as thick as his thigh and set It down near Ariel. Ariel was sitting next to Leon on a table set for reading. She had both books open and was flipping through both together.
Eros stared at Ariel and didn't know what to say. He also started reading.
Leon read through the book quickly. He then went and got another book with a similar topic. He went through ten books in an hour.
"None of them held any thing useful. Only one book talked about one beast with the potential of eight voidstars and how to evolve it. It briefly mentioned that beasts would have to comprehend the laws of the world to evolve."
Leon was familiar with laws. All Summoners would have to comprehend a law to enter the Summoning Master stage. They would then need to master the law to enter the Grandmaster stage. He had mastered the law of fire and entered the Grandmaster stage.
As for beasts comprehending laws wasn't something too shocking. It would be something that wouldn't come in mind to his past life self, but in this life he had thought of the possibility of beasts learning laws to evolve. And when the angel asked to stay summoned to comprehend laws it wasn't a debate anymore it became a fact: Beasts a needed to know comprehend laws for evolution.
In his past life he had three beasts that had comprehended a law. The Devouring Shadow Wolf, The Eternal Ice Qilin and the Ifirt beast. All of them had cultivated a law and were Leon's strongest beasts. From the beasts he had contracted they were the ones with the highest potential as well. Even though they had comprehended a law none of them had shown any signs of evolution or big changes.
"It should be because they were never given enough energy." Leon thought. "But Ariel also said that she needed to comprehend the true essence of the holy element. What's that?" Leon asked the angel through the blood oath.
Ariel answered as she continued to read, "Well I don't know exactly what true essence is, but I would explain it like this. If law is the outside and basics of understanding of an element. True essence is the deep and real meaning of the element."
Leon understood, "So true essence is a higher level then Law?"
"It is." Ariel said as she flipped the page.
Leon got up and said, "Let's go have a look at the view from this place."
Ariel and Eros got up as well. Eros sighed in relief. The book he was reading was soul crushingly boring. He followed Leon.
Leon brought them to a glass door that led to a balcony. He walked out to see a world of red and blue. The city as if painted, was veiled in blue flowers. The Sun almost setting glowed red in the distance.
Eros was stunned by the scene. He moved forward and held the railing to push himself up and see the whole view.
Ariel also nodded, "Leon this place is almost as beautiful as the Cherry Blossom forest."
Leon nodded.
The Sun set and a while new world opened. Flowers on trees bloomed and glowed. The city completely changed.
Eros was interested in this view for a while and walked back to Leon. "That really was a nice scenery, I've never seen the city or the sunset like that before."
"This spot is easily in the ten most beautiful places on the continent." It wasn't Leon that answered rather someone else who had entered the Balcony when the sun was setting. They had entered and watched it.
Leon had sensed them coming but didn't pay them any mind.
The person that had entered was a girl. She had blue hair tied up like a flower. She wore a long lose robe like dress with a belt of cloth at her waist. On her shoulder was a small purple squirrel like beast.
"I'm Veronica Blueshade, I see that Leon Flamesmith the captain of the Fire Continent team has come to visit my humble city."
Leon looked at her. She was most probably participating in the competition herself.
"I assume your part of the Nature continent team." Leon said.
"I am a member, So what brings you to this city?" Veronica asked.
"Nothing much, I just had the sudden urge to read and heard the Blue Petal Library was one of the best libraries on the continent." Leon answered.
"Is that all?" Veronica asked not believing the motive.
"Yes that was all, well now I've seen everything I wanted to, So I'll be going." Leon then walked out. Ariel who was with him left as well.
Eros was glued to his spot staring at Veronica. He had seen her before as the daughter of the head of the Blueshade clan. But in the end that was from a distance. Now she was standing in front of him!
Eros didn't know what to say. He had seen her fight and day dreamed for weeks on having the same strength and summoning strong beasts. He however still hadn't awakened a soul book.
"I love you! Ahhh!" Eros shouted and then ran after Leon.
Veronica looked watched Eros run away and wasn't expecting a confession by such a young boy. She however didn't seem to care to much and quickly forgot about as she disappeared.
Leon who was walking down heard thr confession as well. He turned back to see Eros with his face flush. Eros looked at Leon and Ariel. From their facial expressions he could tell they heard him. Eros was about to run away when Leon caught his hand.
He stopped when he noticed he couldn't move anymore. The realisation hit him that Leon was the Captain of the Fire Continent team. The captain, he was probably even stronger then Veronica!
"Eros calm down. Take a deep breath. No need to get so flustered."
Eros listened and took a deep breath and started to calm down.
"So what happened?" Leon asked. He had taken a step outside and this boy had confessed his love. That went from zero to a hundred way to quick.
Eros looked at Leon confused, "I don't know-w when I looked at Ver-ronica I-I-I-" Eros shuddered and couldn't explain what happened.
Leon however nodded, he understood what happened. Although he knew showing his competition token to enter would alert the Blueshade clan, he didn't think to much of it. They couldn't attack him or capture him. The most they would have done was ask him for a meeting.
Leon didn't blame this situation on himself. He didn't expect someone to have such a beast. The squirrel on Veronica's shoulder was a Loveleaf squirrel. It had an ability, love aura, to cause a feeling of love to the summoner. Veronica has used it on Leon to test him and see how strong he was. Leon had ignored the ability completely.
Because Eros didn't have a cultivation he was easily effected by it. Leon didn't think it would effect him as much since it was mainly targeted at him.
"It was probably a combination of the ability and Eros's own admiration for Veronica." Leon thought. "Well I need to fix this, If he some how convinced himself he's in love with Veronica and makes his goal achieving it..." Leon had a shiver go down his spine. "I will have ruined one of the world's most talented Summoners."
Leon knew Eros had one goal in his past life, to find his parents. Because of that he had explored the world and became the person he was. Leon didn't know what type of person Veronica was however if pursuing her love makes him compromise his original goal it would change a big part of the future.
Leon looked Eros in the eyes. "Eros, What do you like about Veronica?"
"I like her... strength, right! I like how strong she is. I've seen her fighting and made her my goal to reach when I cultivate."
Leon nodded, "Eros, I don't think you like Veronica."
"Wha-"
"Listen to me. I think you confused admiration and Love. You need to think through, and clear your jumbled up mind. You probably shouted that out because you thought you wouldn't have another chance to meet her and wanted to say something impactful. Look I'll buy you the VIP Pass for the library, Come here and read often to clear your head."
Leon ruffled Eros's hair, "Soon you'll be awakening your soul book and things like this won't faze you."
Eros understood Leon and thought his words made sense. He tried to forget what happened and followed Leon down the stairs to the first floor.
Along the way the angel looked at Leon and asked through the blood oath bond. "Leon, I've been wondering for a while, why did you bring this child with us to the library? Why do you care so much about this child? Also why didn't you just tell him he was effected by an ability of a beast?"
"Why did I bring him? Because I felt like it. The second question, I can't answer. The third, you see Love aura had already stopped having an effect on Eros yet he was still convinced he loves Veronica. Not by the ability but by himself, soon he truly will fall in love with her. Telling him outright the emotions he felt a moment earlier were fake and caused by an ability wouldn't work to snap him out if it. He would most likely ignore me and soon convince himself that those were his true feelings at the time, having an opposite effect then intended."
"I think you should understand us living beings aren't completely rational beings. Even of we wanted to it would be impossible."
"What I did isn't the best solution but It should distract him and allow him to forget about his love for Veronica. Soon he'll realised he never loved her in the first place." Leon finished as he bought the VIP Pass. The pass was for a hundred thousand gold. Leon bought the token and gave it Eros.
"With this you can enter the VIP floors with out a problem. Make use of it as much as you can Since it is only valid for a year. Let's go back, I'll take you home."
Eros nodded. He took the token and kept it softly in the pocket if his pants. It was the most valuable thing he owned.
Leon then walked out back to the city, "So where do you live?"
"I'll lead you." Eros said.
Eros led them to a building. "I live here!"
"Well then bye Eros, Hopefully we'll meet again." Leon left with Ariel for the city gates.
