Chapter :7 : What is true success??

The word success means a lot to each of us and we all keep chasing it throughout our lives. The chase starts at an early age of 16 or 17 with our results in the board exams. Gradually the target rises higher and higher and at a certain point of time, we feel like we couldn't achieve what we had set or we failed somehow or we are worthless.

Most of us go through the same thoughts because we never look things beyond the set limits. We forget to see or rather ignore to see the real success. Our real success lies not in achieving high standards or targets but in small and basic acts.

What for us does the word mean? Simply attaining a level? Is that so? I mean, seriously? How can such a grand term called success be so unethical focusing merely on the set of targets?

For the world to see, success is like having attained the set of goals set by someone else in your life, whether it be parents, friends, lover or most of the time your employer. And not to forget that for them the word success has a broader term embedded within. It sounds to be a single word but the actions it requires is a kind of mindset that holds nothing except to achieve, no matter, how unrealistic, unreasonable, unkind, disloyal, immoral or inhumane you have to become in the process; ultimately, you're supposed to achieve it. Its more like cn be defined as "forget all that your morale senses say or do, just focus on what you want selfishly".

Have we ever thought that even some of the so called great successful people aren't even content and happy in their lives. Although they've attained the goals apparently. But why so discontent??

The reason is very basic and lies deep into our acts.

I as a narrator and author of this content was myself very not well aware of this until life taught me the real meaning of success.

Once, I happened to meet a very eccentric person in my life who would give away every human and morale lessons in exchange of success. That person was somehow somewhere mid-way to success and was doing quite well as seemed to me apparently as he had everything that a person would ever want. But deep somewhere, he know but never admits that instead of having everything he isn't content. Somewhere there's a missing part. There's something that's missing and that missing part is satisfaction.

On the other hand, I personally met and was moved by a person's way of life. He had also attained some level of success in life, he's a happy-go-lucky person who is just an employee in a good sector. But even in his wilderness, I never witness him sobbing or regretting or having any sort of deep sorrow in his heart. Wherever he went, he was greeted humbly. He moved along with utter gladness. For me, the even more vitally interesting thing is to see that he was acknowledged by many for his helping nature and kind gesture towards all.

These two persons as depicted are both successful in their own ways but different in their wilderness. On one side, to the eccentric man, success means only the attainment of some targets and accomplishing great things and while in this process he totally forgot the fact that every coin has two faces and both the faces are important determinants of what we are as being and these both faces balances our lives. Only professional accomplishments isn't necessary. Whereas, the other person is balancing everything equally. That's what's we call success! To not let go our personal responsibilities as a person rather to do all our duties as a person.

Success means more than acquiring an external status of being established in the perspective of the world. It actually means to be established internally with total satisfaction and delight.

We must all strive to attain success but not a cost of losing ourselves in the wilderness but rather than running towards it along with our closed ones.
