"Hehe."
Cold laughter echoed next to Chu Ye's ear, sending a chill down his spine.
"Ruoxi I can explain."
He was holding a cute little girl in his arms, she seemed to be around 4 years old. Her hair was tied into Princess Leia buns, and she wore an expensive looking white dress. Her doe eyes were squinting in happiness as she licked the just-bought ice cream in her hand.
"Explain? What's there to explain?" She asked coldly.
"This, here in my arms, she's really not mine okay."
"You don't want me daddy?" The kid seemed to be listening, because her eyes were watering up again now.
"No, I mean yes baby, of course I want you. You're my little princess okay?"
"I don't want to be a princess!" The little girl shouted.
"Oh, why not?" Chu Ye asked, so many girls wanted to be princesses, what's wrong with this little lass?
"Princesses are always being saved, they're weak, I don't want to be weak. I wanna be strong like my daddy!" She shouted energetically.
Chu Ye was infected by the little girl's enthusiasm, as he too shouted,
"Great! You're smart kid, I like that," Then he thought, "But who said daddy was strong?"
"Mama, mama said Daddy is the strongest in the world! And the most kindest! And, and, daddy's the best!" The little girl gushed.
If Chu Ye said that he wasn't pleased then he would be lying.
"Haha, your mommy is smart!" He smiled, as he ruffled her hair, which made her pout. He was still confused though, he didn't blame the mother for saying such things to her child, clearly they were just stories, fantasies, to make the girl believe that her father wasn't just someone who abandoned her.
That's the only explanation he could think of right now, why else would she just run up to him and call him father out of nowhere? He was sure he hadn't done the deed on this planet yet.
And besides, the girl looked to be 4, he had only been here for 2 years, there was no way she could be his. Well he did scope the place out 4 years ago...
Nah, must be a coincidence...
Chu Ye was happily talking to the little girl, listening to all the stories her mother had told her about her father. Finding out her name, which was Jinjing Mei by the way, which sounded a bit familiar. Not noticing at all the sullen Ruoxi walking next to them.
Finally, after 5 minutes, Ruoxi couldn't take it anymore as she spoke up.
"I'm going home, " And not saying anymore, she walked away, or tried to at least. "Let go of me." She said to Chu Ye, colder than usual.
"Our date's not over yet Ruoxi." He said simply.
"Why don't you go on a date with your daughter's mother!" Ruoxi shouted, more grievance in her voice than she had anticipated.
She turned her head away, trying not to show Chu Ye how she felt. This was supposed to be their date, just them, but now a little girl who claimed to be his daughter suddenly came and... She knew she shouldn't be jealous of a child. Still, she couldn't help but feel wronged.
Chu Ye gripped her hand gently, guessing her current mood, he pulled her closer towards him. While putting the confused Mei on the ground.
And before Ruoxi could say anything else, he pulled her towards him and kissed her.
Ruoxi's mind exploded, she couldn't process what was happening, her heart beating in her head, until finally she realized. She then struggled to break free, but a hand on the back of her head held her close, gentle yet firm.
Ruoxi, sensing that the struggle was useless, powerlessly dropped her hands to the side. But getting more into the kiss, she timidly raised then again, slowly placing them around Chu Ye's waist.
Meanwhile, little Mei off to the side had her hands on her face, covering her eyes at the scene happening in front of her.
She didn't know why she did it, all she knew was that her mamma always covered her eyes when such things happened. And mama always said those people were...
"Bad," The little girl whispered, "Papa's bad."
Although the girl whispered, Ruoxi seemed to hear it, as she immediately grew red in the face, and pushed Chu Ye off. He relented, he had enough after all, for now...
"Y-you, who gave you permission to do that!" Ruoxi shouted at him, her face steaming. But Chu Ye could see that she was happy, giddy in fact, if the twiddling of her fingers was any indicator.
"You liked it no?" He questioned, eyebrow raised a little provocatively.
"Who would like that!" Ruoxi denied. How could she relent so easily to this bastard, no, he must have drugged her or something. Yes, that must be it otherwise-
"Oh, but I can still taste your tong-"
"Shut up!" Ruoxi shouted, chest heaving in embarrassment. She glanced at Mei to the side, and was relieved to see that her eyes were covered, missing the tiny gaps in between.
"Ok, ok, I won't tease you anymore," Chu Ye said, "Let's finds Mei's mother and then continue our date okay?"
Ruoxi looked up at him, then at Mei, then nodded. Her grievances seemed to vanish by now. She didn't even notice Mei holding her hand in between them, as they walked through the crowd.
Looking all too much like a happy family.

On the other side of the park.
A beautiful woman, garbed in simple attire and large sunglasses, was trying her best to stay calm. Her jean cladded legs were walking to and fro, high heels clacking on the ground as she bit her nails.
Suddenly a man appeared in front of her, clad in a black business suit, he looked big and strong, but he was strangely timid in front of this lady.
"Report." Jinjing Lan said, trying hard to sound strong.
"We... Haven't found her yet miss." The man stated, clearly dissatisfied with himself.
But Jinjing Lan was even more dissatisfied as she shouted,
"You're ex-special forces, and you can't even find one little girl! Useless!" Her eyes seemed to contain a threatening light then as she stated. "If you can't find me my little girl in 1 hour I'll have this place burnt down with you in it." There was no hesitation in her voice, not a crack, as if her word was law. And to the man, it was.
"Yes Miss!" He shouted, as he disappeared in front of the woman's eyes.
Jinjing Lan seemed to grow weak then, as she fell in a chair, arms cradling her head,
"Mei'er, please be okay!"
