Chapter 20

Phoebe POV

As I sat looking up at the love of my life there was one thing I just had to ask "Your meeting ran a little long. Seriously?".

"Hey it's the truth." Silver said calmly as he helped me up. "Now to end this." he said, his expression hardening into the same one father has when fighting.

"You cannot defeat us!" Krios yelled digging himself out if his trench "We have been blessed by Tartarus, the Titans are at full power and the Giants are stronger than ever!". I watched as Silver extended his hand and emitted a silver glow.

Starting with those closest to us and moving outward, our people took up the same silver glow, minor cuts healed, bleeding slowed, and altogether signs of exhaustion faded. The pain in my own arm began to lessened to a dull ache. "What are you doing?" Krios asked sounding nervous for the first time.

"Evening the odds." Silver said "A blessing for a blessing.". Almost instantaneously the legions surge forward and began to regain the ground they had previously lost.

"If you die your blessing will leave with you!" Krios shouted as he charged.

A bright silvery white streak, that I realized was my soon to be mother in law, collided with Krios "OVER MY DEAD BODY!" she shouted.

Silver disappeared in his own streak of silver light and began cutting a path through the enemy heading straight for Leon and Polybotes who had teamed up in attacking the western flank. Polybotes having apparently sensed Silver's approach.

"So the famed Sentinel of Rome finally makes an appearance." Polybotes said sending acid from the little Tiber at him. Silver slowed down just long enough to shoved a legionair out of the way and was blasted by poison. "To easy." Polybotes laughed only to have it die in his throat as Silver emerged unharmed from the acid which was reverting back into water.

Silver POV

"Well that was anticlimactic." I said. I had considered that my own cleansing aura might be able to reverse Polybotes effect on water but this wasn't how I wanted to test it. Polybotes came charging at me trident at the ready and I took the time to check my surroundings. I had more than enough power to simply blast everything within one mile to pieces without breaking a sweat. However I had no way of discriminating between friend or foe 'guess I'll just have to do things the old fashioned way' I thought. Sidestepping a thrust from Polybotes' trident, I sent a small jolt of electricity into the metal. Polybotes let his trident drop to the ground in order to avoid the jolt and flung his net wide to try and ensnare me.

I rolled to the side and dashed up his arm that held the net slicing into it as I ran. Polybotes let out a low growl in pain and flung me off. I did a somersault in mid air and land on my feet several yards away. Polybotes having retrieved his spear promptly took the three steps he needed to reach me and swung trident like a bat. Rather than retreating to avoid it I lunged at his leg cutting it deeply as I passed.

Polybotes fell to the side clutching his leg "I admit you are far more skilled than I am, yet it is useless, you cannot defeat me without the aid of a demigod and there are none to help here." he said trying to stand.

I chuckled "That is where you are wrong. I am not bound by the laws of the Fates and that includes the the restriction on how you can be killed." I said bluntly.

"You lie there are none who a free of the ancient laws." Polybotes said.

"Usually you would be right but as the god of Justice there are a number of loop holes I can exploit. Kind of like how a police officer can kill a criminal when needed." I said "However we can test your theory if you want just hold still". I buried my sword to the hilt in his heart during his brief moment of hesitation and his lack of mobility only helped. Though I doubt few actually realized Polybotes' death but the evidence was clear as day. All around me his army became more frenzied and less focused.

Father overwhelmed Tethys with the same result and moments later when my Mother defeated Krios the enemy descended into complete chaos. The legions took the opportunity and began to decimate the enemy, Leon seeing his army would lose gave the order to retreat. An order I helped them follow by unleashing the strongest spell Pan ever taught me. Panic!
