I might do something stupid

Chapter 12 I might do something stupid

We'll see what happens,

I might or might not need to. Yes you can presume and yes you must do your best. I'll be watching you so might as well prove your enemies wrong.

I've met Don Bosco a couple of times. My father and he are close acquaintances. I think they might have done a few businesses together. He is as cool as your mother thinks he is.

Don't expect much, you may not like what you see,

H.

Sav wondered if what Brielle said was right and that he was ugly. Whatever the case, she would welcome him in her arms just the same. He's been with her through hard and fun times. You don't get to replace that easily.

"I think I know who's been sending me those death threats," Sav told Brielle.

"Really? Who do you think is it?" She stopped walking and looked at her in the eyes.

"I'm not sure if it's him. I'll tell you when I find out."

Brielle shook her head. "Sav, you can't just say that. Just tell me."

"I think Zayden is pulling a nasty prank on me," she finally said then looked at her with hopeful eyes that she would agree with her doubt.

"I see," she said then snatched her blade from her thigh. "Should we kill him?"

Sav immediately raised her hands to stop her. "I told you, I'm not sure. I'll tell you when I'm sure."

"Okay, please do. Be careful. And Sav?"

"Yes?"

"Things aren't always what they seem to be," she said and gave her a rueful smile.

Someone has been following her down the corridor. She noticed it when she saw a spiky shadow at her peripheral vision. And only one person could have such crazy hair.

She slowly took her blade from its strap. She would surprise him at the corner and threaten the truth out of him. It was now or never.

Sav put her back against the wall just as she turned and put her foot out instinctively to trip Z. However, he was as versatile as he was witty. He sidestepped then jammed her attacks with Wing Chun blocks. She attacked once more by doing a surprise side kick and it hit home. Although it didn't do much damage as much as she thought. The boy didn't move an inch.

Was he made of rocks?

"I get that a lot," he chuckled then raised his hands in surrender. "Chill, I just need to talk to you. You walk awfully fast."

She glared at him. "Then why didn't you call me in the first place?"

"I thought you've seen me prancing around? Haven't you?"

"Of course, I have!" She cried. "It doesn't explain that you followed me all the way here!"

"I like chasing women." He winked, making Sav even more frustrated. She was starting to believe that it was impossible to have a serious conversation with him.

"I'm being serious Zayden!" She fumed as she felt tears at the edge of her eyes. She quickly wiped them away.

Zayden must have noticed her distress and frowned. "Hey, it's just me. What's this all about?"

Sav sighed and walked back so she could sit against the wall. Life in the academy could be awfully tiring.

"You knew it was me. Do you seriously was going to do something bad to you?" He asked and sat beside her.

"Well I thought so. You're my number 1 suspect after all."

"Number 1 suspect for what?"

"This." Sav pulled out the death threats from her bag and threw them on his lap. Sav watched his surprised expression as if it was his first time seeing it.

"You thought I wrote…" He held out a gruesome letter with his hand. "This?"

"Smell it and you might change your mind."

He hesitantly smelled the paper and finally registered what she meant.

"It smells like my perfume," he said, confusion now vivid in his eyes, "but I didn't write this Sav. You have to believe me. I hate writing and if I would write a letter it would not be about cutting your head off," he said cringing. "It would be about the sinful activities we can do in the bedroom," he added with a tint of smile because he's Z.

"I know. This could mean one thing then," Sav concluded.

"Someone is setting me up."

They both nodded at one another. "Can you think of someone who would do this to you?"

"Yes, perhaps hundreds of people, particularly women," he answered without a sense of shame.

"What have you been doing all your life?" Sav began to massage her temples. She was starting to get a headache.

"UMmm let's see, making love to women. Some affairs. Broke a lot of hearts. Sent nudes to—"

"Okay I get it," Sav cut him off. "Where should we start then?"

"We should probably tell Luke. He knows more of my shenanigans more than I do."

"Who's Luke?"

"He's Leo's and I's other close friend. He's the president of this school and also one of the smartest man I know." He smiled with evident pride.

"How come I haven't seen him?" Sav wondered if she had ever seen the president of the mafia Academy. Not much were written about him in the papers.

"He's in the advanced classes. He's very private too so students don't really see him often."

"I see," Sav noted, "So should we see him now?"

"Dang, I just remembered," Z sighed, "he's having that training with Leo and some business meetings."

"That sucks." Sav stood up and began pacing back and forth. "What can we do before he gets back then? I can't just sit here and do nothing."

"Well, we can start with where I lost my bag," Z suggested.

Sav's mouth hung open as he looked at him with wide eyes.

"What?"

"I didn't know you actually use your brains," Sav said in bewilderment.

"That hurt," he said while faking a heart ache. "I use it a lot to pick up women. It's getting harder every day."

Sav laughed. "Nice to hear you're having a hard time. So where did you lose it?"

After a short moment of scratching his chin, he finally bolted up. "I remember now," he said then glanced at her. "How old are you Sav?"

"I just turned 16."

"Shit, you're not even 17 yet?" He asked astounded, "I mean look… at you." His eyes went up and down, scrutinizing her every form.

"Eyes up here, you perve." Sav gestured for him to look at her in the face with her hands. "What does it have to do with my age anyway?"

"We'll have to make you a fake ID then."

"Why do I need a face ID?"

"Darling, you're too innocent," he chuckled then placed his hands on his shoulders. "Prepare yourself Sav. We're going to a club."

I might do something stupid,

There's a problem that I've been dealing with lately. I don't know how to fix it and I've been trying to find out how. An opportunity arose but the cost of finding out the truth is a bit risky. Nevertheless, my curiosity is out of control so I just want to inform you beforehand. Don't worry about me though, I'll be fine. A friend is helping me out.

I don't care if you're fat or ugly. I think you're still wonderful just the way you are and will remain one of the most important person in my life.

Don't be afraid, I don't bite,

Sav
